Farm Fresh Produce

When I lived in Prunedale, I would definitely come here almost every weekend! Fresh produce and you always get a good deal! Of all the produce stands on Hwy 1, this is the one I would recommend! Friendly staff and seasonal produce on point! They also have fruit and vegetables that are not seen in Safeway or other americanized grocery stores. Being filipino and living in an area that is not heavily populated with filipinos was difficult when looking specifically for vegetables to make a dish.
It was nice passing by knowing that it was still the same as far as produce, staff, and friendliness. I love that consistency!

$ 5 for 4 huge avocados.
$ 0.50 for 5 small grapefruits
$ 1.00 for 7 lemons
$ 1.52 for a bunch of organic bananas
Some produce is a great deal, some produce is old… But you get to choose what you buy ;)
Some deals aren’t as great as advertised but you still get much better prices than any grocery store.
They have tons and tons of different snack type foods.

I am a girl who loves side of the rode produce stands and this one didn’t disappoint. We stopped in to get a few healthy snacks for the road and left with a variety of deliciousness. The tangerines were amazing and the price of the avocados was awesome. Although we stopped for healthy food, some cashew brittle found its way into my bag and boy was that delicious. This was a great stop!

We bought a few things which were nice (the 10 for $ 1 grapefruit, the Brussels sprouts on the stem) but I was so disappointed with the avocados! I bought 5, and all 5 of them were black and inedible inside. Buyer beware. The worker was surly, but the miserable weather made that pretty understandable.

I had better experiences in the past, but this time was bad. Their shelves were practically empty, there was only one person working the counter, the credit card machine was not working and the stuff I bought (mint malted milk balls and spicy dried mangoes) was stale and overpriced. And this was in August — prime tourist season. Not a fan!

7 for $ 1.00 Avocados is a trap to get you to stop. Those avocados are ping ball sized and rotten. The nice avocados are 4 for $ 2.00. Produce isn’t a bargain and not the freshest. Bought some strawberries, 3 peaches, 4 apricots, and 2 pineapples. The price was fourteen and change, hope they’re good.

The produce here is heavily saturated with pesticides. Although, yes, it is «fresh», the area and the agricultural practices refuse to support organic produce. The wildlife and fields are poisoned by heavy spray. If you do purchase produce at one of these stands, be sure to advocate organic farming instead!

Seriously… love love the Salsa here. Salsa De Molcajete is yummers… I also love that this place has great prices for all sorts of produce.. Avacados. strawberries… tomatoes… fig bars are organic and simply delectable. This place has amazing deals and prices.. Will be returning SOON

Just like the other reviewers, we were on our way to Monterey/​Carmel when we saw huge signs for dirt cheap avocados and artichokes. We abruptly stopped to check this place out.
The produce was definitely super cheap! But, unfortunately, the «main» deals that were being advertised on the road (avocados, artichokes, etc) weren’t of good quality. 7 avocados for $ 1, 10 artichokes for $ 1. The avocados were super tiny! And the artichokes looked kinda rotten…
Now that I got that out of the way, there are other artichokes/​avocados for more $ and are in much better shape. The avocados didn’t look bad… it was just the size that was off putting at first. They also had bags of 10 avocados, 2 bags for $ 3.
I paid about $ 18 bucks for:
2 bags of baby avocados (total: 20 avocados), 1 bunch of asparagus, small bag of cherries (SWEETEST cherries ever), 4 medium sized nectarines, 1lb bag of carrots, 2 jalapenos, 4 gigantic roma tomatoes, 1 bunch of cilantro.
I’ve already devoured a whole bag of avocados with my bf. Very good quality. I would say 2 of these baby avocados = 1 normal sized avocado. We made avocado smoothies, guac, california rolls, and added them on top of our tacos.

Overall good value. But sketchy sometimes. We got artichokes there that were FULL of worms. We thought we did a good job of screening them out, then bbq’ed them, and in the middle of one, a huge meal worm. Can’t say I’ll be buying chokes from them again.

The quality is fantastic!!! And the prices are ridiculous!!! The place is not fancy, but who cares about that when the fruit tastes so good!!! We got 10 artichokes, 5 avocados, 5 oranges, 2 grapefruit, 1 basket of strawberries and 1 cantaloupe all for $ 10! And everything tasted so fresh and sweet! I did not know an orange could be that sweet! We will be coming back every time we come to Monterey!

We came in looking for Napa Cabbage, it’s hard to find at this time of the year. They had none but had lots of other fruits and vegetables. Plus lots of nuts and snack items. We usually go to the other stand down the road thinking they were cheaper, but they are about the same. We’ll check back here time to time.

Stopped here on the way to Carmel. Found some good deals on fruit and vegetables. And, prices are very reasonable. It’s well worth the stop.

This is a fun place to stop on the way back from the aquarium. It will probably become a routine for me now.
Lots of produce for decent prices, a small selection of organic. There are some specialty produce items such as dragon fruit and purple bell peppers. Of course you pay more for these items but that’s sort of expected.
There is a great candy selection of different flavors of chocolate covered almonds, pretzels, things like that. I went a little crazy in this section, not going to lie. I managed to refrain from the sour cream and onion flavored crickets at the register but was thinking about challenging my husband to a man vs food date with them when we got home. :)
Definitely a fun place to stop and pick up some different items when you are in this neck of the woods.

Really love the freshness of the produce. Our main staples from here are the strawberries, best I’ve had and I’m from Florida and we have pretty good strawberries. Really awesome avocados. We bought 4 of the larger ones a couple weeks ago and forgot about them. And they were just perfect when we finally cracked into them. Same with the broccoli we get here! :) And the grapes! Nice crisp green grapes. My husband and I will throw them out rather than eat soft and squishy grapes. So these are just awesome! We also get the artichokes. Mainly the smaller ones as I clean them all up and have them on pizza and in pastas.
I could rave on forever, though I’ll spare ya’ll. ;D

7 avocados for $ 1 caught my eye, but they’re the tiny ones.

Been here many times… at first I was super excited because of the abundant produce and at cheap prices.
Then I realized the produce didn’t last a week in my refrigerator. The broccoli tasted sour after I cooked it and the potatoes were rotten after a week in my pantry, the melons were overly riped inside and the apples/​oranges weren’t edible if not eaten and refrigerated right away.
We still come here every once in a full moon (even less) to get some cheap veggies like avocado, mushroom, corn and cauliflower when its in season. I just dont buy the green veggies and fruits especially melons anymore.
Just be careful of what you buy, since most of the veggies and fruits are «Off Grade and/​or Grade B».

I love stopping here in my way back to the city from Monterey! I come for the fresh produce, dried fruit, and other great foodie snacks!!! Their prices are also incredible and I really feel you get the most bang for your buck here!!! Also try their guacamole and chips!!!

We don’t live far from this market and it seems we always pass by coming back from Santa Cruz and say will stop next time! This time is was a spontaneous trip, I love those kind of days !
This is your topical kind of produce market! You know smells like ripe fruit or veggies, this market has array of produce & dried fruit, candy, Pepper Plant BBQ sauce which is the best ! Along with Pepper Pant Hot Sauce (my favorite) ! They have fair prices got some white corn 7 for $ 1 ! Broccoli 99 cents for a bunch ! Strawberries where so ripe & juicy !
I really would love to bring my parents to check out this stand ! I suggest next time your passing through stop by to check it out ! Can’t go wrong with picking up fruit or veggies to take home for a healthy living !

This wonderful market never ceases to amaze me with all the beautiful, fresh local fruit, veggies, flowers, specialty candies, dried fruit, bottled preserves and treats at the best prices. You can also enjoy fresh locally caught fish available at their full seafood market next door (along with neat wines, local coffee from Surf City Coffee and fresh treats and sandwiches).
This produce stand always has incredible deals, like 10 kiwis for $ 1.00, 7 hass avocados for $ 1.99, 5 artichokes for $ 1.00, 5lb bags of oranges for $ 2.00 and broccoli bunches for $ 0.99. A prior reviewer mentioned that these are teaser rates to reel you in but I don’t find that to be the case at all (I’ve stopped in here dozens of times). On my last visit, I walked out with a couple brimming bags of fresh veggies and fruit for only $ 15.00. A mere $ 15.00 for juicy peaches, kiwis, avocados, apricots, bananas, a bag of oranges, grapes, strawberries, cilantro, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and limes. You won’t find this kind of superior produce at your local grocer for $ 15.00.
Make sure to pull off at this wonderful mega produce stand for the best in fresh and local produce. These deals will make you squeal.
