Just found out that this place is closing … very sad.

One of the very FEW drive-​ins left in the whole nation and this is a damn fine one.
I first went to the Bright Leaf in 1977 and it is still going strong. It closes for 8 weeks during the winter but during warmer months, it is a great place to go.
Sadly, the original owner died a few years ago after decades of providing a good and wholesome place to go see the movies. Thankfully, there was a group of people in Mt Airy that saved the drive-​in and continues its operation.
Last year, my British Car Club drove up to catch a screening of Pixar’s Cars. The theater was sold out. that night.
And whatever you do, come hungry. They still have a «Grade A Grill!»
