This is a hard review for me. I love love love Peruvian food so seeing a Peruvian place in Mount Dora made me excited! We quickly left a Cuban place on a traffic filled corner to go up to the 2nd floor of the Renaissance building. A bit off the beaten path in my opinion, and we walked into a darling dining room. We came at a perfect time because only one other couple were there. Our server was super nice and down to earth and helpful. We couldn’t ask for anything more. We ordered a Lomo Saltado skillet. We thought it would be more appetizing with the ribeye instead of skirt steak and served in the cast iron pan. We also ordered chaufa and I ordered steamed mussels with Peruvian salsa for an appetizer. Our food took forever and ever to come. Again, we were the only couple there. They said their dinner was to be crowded and busy because it was Valentine’s Eve, but at the very moment we were there, it was our personal dinner. The Lomo Saltado came with the onions mixed in which we requested not. Our server noticed it and said she’d take it back, but we said no it’s fine. The cook said it would only take 5 minutes to remake again so why did it take so long in the first place. Our Lomo Saltado beef didn’t have a lot of meat pieces. Mostly fat. Fat gives flavor, but we still need the need to eat. The chaufa(fried rice) was good. The mussels were good too. The flavor of the food was exceptional albeit small, and lack of beef in the Lomo Saltado. The amount of time for food to be made and the serving size were not that great. I want to love this place more, but I must hold off for the reasons mentioned.

The owner comes to your table and explains nearly every item on the menu and how to pair it. Adorable, quaint and delicious!

For a different taste with fresh ingredients I recommend this simply named Peruvian restaurant. It’s located upstairs so it was a little hard to locate, with pleasant seating window table overlooking a Main Street in downtown Mt. Dora. Well worth a visit. Ceviche was devine! Plus, owner came to speak to us!

One of the best lunches we’ve had In a long time. As previous reviewers have mentioned, this place isn’t easy to find. We were on the street in the rain, obviously looking lost as the GPS wasn’t much help for a second story venue. A friendly Mt. Dora resident called out, «You look lost,» and when we told him we were looking for Mr. Cebiche, he took us under his wing and led us directly to an elevator leading to the restaurant’s door. Way to go, Mt. Dora! Now for the lunch: I ordered Tacu Tacu, which was written up by a previous reviewer — a delicately flavored rice dish attractively served on lettuce with some marinated veggies on top. Beautiful and beyond yummy. Spouse’s lunch, Aji De Gallina, took the prize — something(?) in a delicious Aji sauce, served with a pyramid of perfectly cooked white rice. Stunningly delicious as well as beautifully presented. Both lunches were served on little white rectangular plates, and the portions were just right. On the table was a dessert menu listing some intriguing Peruvian options for future tasting, and a well curated wine list I look forward to trying some time. The service was excellent — polite, attentive, prompt — even a table visit from the chef, Mr. Cebiche himself. Server gets good marks for checking with the kitchen when we enquirer about Spouse’s need for his meal to be gluten free. We enjoyed sitting at a window table overlooking the main shopping district on Donnelly St. Our total bill for two, with tax, came to $ 19.47 which made this an even better deal. I see that dinner prices, as might be expected, are a little higher, but still in the reasonable range. We’ll be back here as soon as we get a chance.

Absolutely delicious!!! I can’t say enough good things about Mr. Cebiche in Mount Dora. From the service to the food, everything was outstanding! Our server, Fendy, was warm, professional, friendly and extremely knowledgable about the menu. All around fantastic at her job! We ordered papa al la huancaina for an appetizer and the sauce was smooth, velvety and bursting with flavor, over perfectly cooked potatoes and sliced eggs. I wanted to lick the sauce off the plate! For main course we shared Arroz con shrimp which was outstanding. The shrimp were plump and cooked perfectly. I loved the onion tomato salad on the side as well. We also shared the Aji de Gallina, which was shredded chicken on top of potato with a yellow pepper cream sauce! Absolutely amazing! It came with white rice which was better than any white rice I’ve ever eaten! For desert we had the dulce de leche cookies and the suspiro al la limena which was a creamy, sweet dulce de leche Carmel pudding with merengue on top. Omg! To die for!!! Just when we thought things couldn’t get better, the chef himself came out of the kitchen to say hello and make sure we enjoyed our meal. He was so hospitable and sweet. We assured him we would be back very soon! I can’t wait to try everything on the menu! What a fantastic meal and fantastic service!

This is not an easy place to find. It’s inside the Renaissance building, on the second floor, and the only obvious signage is a temporary sign on the sidewalk behind the building, and another at the base of the stairs inside. But it’s worth the effort to locate it. We were personally greeted by the owner and immediately made to feel welcome as he explained the menu. We started with the Causa De Roca, an attractive stack of seasoned mashed potatoes mixed with yellow peppers, layered with tomato and avocado, and topped with Shrimp and a sauce made of mayonnaise and ketchup with blackened seasoning, lime and cilantro. It was delicious. It seemed only logical to order the lunch dish called Mr. Cebiche, and that was a good move. The mixture of white fish«cooked» in lime juice was served ice cold, and my wife declared it the best ceviche she’s had outside of Peru. My lunch was also good, the Tacu Tacu, consisting of Stir-Fried Rice with Beans topped with onions and tomatoes marinated in lime juice. The interior of the restaurant is charming, and very clean. Many of the tables have a nice view of the shopping street below. It can be a challenge to park in Mount Dora, but there is a well-disguised public parking structure two blocks to the south.

This is a gem on the 2nd floor, the signage isn’t that clear so make sure you keep an eye out! Had a super delicious ceviche dish & a quinoa salad for lunch. There is a limited kids menu to choose from if your kiddos don’t do fish. The menu is quite large, so if ceviche is NOT your thing, no worries, my dining companion had steak skewers that she raved about, and I saw chicken on the menu as well. Really enjoyed this place and the friendly staff!

Excellent Peruvian flavors. We enjoyed the aji de gallina, lomo saltado, and palta relleno. The chicha morada was delicious and not too sweet. Very highly recommend! The owner/chef is a delight to talk with, too. I lived in South America for several years, and Peruvian food is the best! This place has wonderful food and atmosphere.

I was disappointed, price is very high for very low quality food. I ordered tallarines Verdes with ribbon eye, the charged $ 19, never asked how I wanted my steak so they brought it well done, and the meat tasted like charcoal. The green sauce for the tallarines was tasteless almost watery, and for appetizer ordered choros a la chalaca and the lime taste was overpowering… definitely a place I won’t come back nor recommend… on top of it, is a Spanish restaurant but the waitress kept answering back in English

I’m originally from New York and was visiting Mount Dora because of family emergency. Having been to Peru in April and loving all the food there, I was blessed to see the Mr Ceviche sign while walking through the neighborhood. I came the very next day. We ordered the Ceviche, arroz con marisco and a Lomo Salteado. Everything was fresh and tasted Amazing. I highly recommend this place.

I found this through Unilocal and since I had already been to Peru and had the delight of experiencing their cuisine I decided to give Mr. Cebiche a try. We made reservations for an early dinner on a Saturday evening and were able to get seating for six people quickly. As usual there is always a time issue trying to find parking nearby, but since Mr. Cebiche is on Donnelly Street downtown there is public parking at three nearby locations, plus on the street. The restaurant is cozy with wood floors, wood chairs and tables. There is the home feel to the place with the furniture and the pictures on the walls. Be prepared because it is small and limited seating. Once we were seated the waitress took our drink orders and was very friendly and informative. Because there was much to talk about concerning Peru orders were slightly delayed. That was our fault. We ordered several different ceviche as appetizers and some ca-bobs, all of which were good. The ceviche was awesome. Some of the best I’ve eaten and considering my in-laws are from down south they are very familiar with the various qualities and styles. They too said it was excellent. The main meals were the stuffed avocados(very good) and the Asian beef(very good), more ka-bobs and then the black butter grouper,(very good). Service was quick. The refreshments were refilled as needed. The staff was friendly. The prices were very fair. The owner, Jorge Bracamomte and chef for over 18 years, came by after our meal was over and spent about fifteen minutes talking to us. Of course my family instantly hit it off with his friendly, welcoming disposition and proceeded to share stories about South and Central America. It was delightful to speak with him and learn about his background and training. Overall the experience was very positive. Many of the flavors reminded me of our visit to Peru and my family and I will want to return to try some of the other flavors. It would be interesting to see the public reaction if the used llama steaks. When I was in Peru I had the pleasure of eating a llama steak and it was by far the best steak I’ve ever tasted. I suggested to Owner Jorge Bracamomte to add them to the menu.

This place is great! The food was excellent, the location is really nice(overlooking downtown MD), and the service was very good. I had the Mixto Limeño, which was very fresh, tart, herbaceous, and just all around delicious(see picture). I had the avocado bowl salad as an app, which was also tasty. My gf got the skirt steak and pesto pasta, which featured a great-sized piece of tender skirt steak with yum pesto. As a really nice touch, the chef personally came out to speak with us and ensure everything was up to par. If you’ve never been to Mr. Cebiche, you should definitely give it a try!

The food here is crazy delicious. The serving technique and banter has a very loving South American style. It’s not Olive Garden, so don’t expect a speedy refill of your water with lemon. I came here to review the one negative review where the reviewer mentions that his wife is a vegetarian. You shouldn’t be allowed to allocate stars, post reviews, or otherwise be present on the Internet if you preface a review of a South American restaurant with any mention of vegetarianism. I went to the music show at the rock and roll place, but my wife, who is deaf thought the beat was a bit wonky. This is my review.

Mr. Cebiche is certainly the best Peruvian food in the area. We drove up from Orlando to spend the day at Mt. Dora and this food was truly a spectacular surprise. If you’re a fan of homemade Peruvian food look no further. This establishment is incredible. Tucked away on the 2nd floor you are off the hustle and bustle of the main road and tucked away in a gorgeous, clean and Peruvian inspired environment. The restaurant itself is decorated simply with the most gorgeous Peruvian paintings. The owner is so friendly and welcoming, you will instantly feel at home. The food is amazing — cooked like a delicious home cooked meal. Peruvian cooking is an art and this restaurant has mastered that art. If you’ve never tried Peruvian food — take the plunge and try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed by the quality of the food or the quality of the service.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed The service was erratic at best. My wife is a vegetarian and ordered two side dishes the broccoli and spinach mashed potatoes They were presented in two bowls. When she asked for a plate, the server brought two small plates. The spinach mashed potatoes were so salty she sent them back. I don’t remember what I ordered because they never delivered it. After my wife finished her broccoli, we left. The owner was too busy gabbing with customers when he needed to be in the kitchen. Needless to say this left a bad taste and hungry feeling

Mr. Cebiche offers a beautiful setting, but the price does not correspond well with the meal. Way to pricey. The server was pleasant, but often answered in ways that made us tilt our head sideways — sarcasm masked with a laugh and a wink is still sarcasm — slightly condescending, but you’re not sure how to take it. Just the fact that there is two sentences on services, versus one one food, should be an indicator as to what stood out the most. Sad because I so wanted it to be amazing, but our experience fell short.

Our best meal in Mt. Dora by far! We will definitely be back! Ordered 4 items and ate family style. The quinoa salad was fantastic, probably our favorite. Ceviche was also very good, as was the Lomo Saltado! Skewered chicken was good, but nothing special. Fantastic service, great atmosphere.
