I am a fan of local businesses, especially when close to home. I made it to on Sunday for brunch. It’s a neat unique location atop a hill. I ordered the Hercules crêpe. It was ok. I was hoping for some delicious fresh ingredients maybe similar to a chicken gyro in crêpe form, but it fell short. It wasn’t gross or anything, but I was underwhelmed. The dessert crepes looked pretty good, but I’m not big on sweets. I probably won’t be a frequent customer, but I’m sure others will enjoy it more than I did. It’s worth giving it a try.

We just moved to the area from W Nashville. Discovered this gem while riding around. We had a crêpe with ham, spinach, cream cheese, etc. Most excellent as are their sweet crepes. The restaurant is a small home that’s been converted. Very pleasant!

Excellent little place. Drove by many times thinking I’d like to try it out. So I finally did. Wish I did before now. Great food. Nice folks. Had the Hercules and a cup of chili. Wonderful. Wasn’t sure if a crêpe would be filling. It took up the whole plate. Loved it. Will be back. They are currently working winter hours 8 – 3. I will definitely be coming for breakfast also. Then I’ll check out the music for an evening visit this spring.

I met Sonny when his café was just a dream targeted for the Hermitage area. I was psyched when it showed up in Mt Juliet. There are so many unique restaurants/cafes/bars in the greater Nashville area. Having one of them this far east from the bullseye and so close to home means I can actually find time to patron an American entrepreneur’s success. I hope my fellow locals will support Sonny’s Café. Starbucks will certainly improve the eyesore but Sonny’s, just down the street, is the place to spend your money. You’ll be glad you supported a local place instead of another corporate monolith.

Pros: Felt welcome as soon as we walked in! Waiter was more than wonderful, gave us time to get settled and decide(first timers) They have outlets on the wall & was able to recharge my silly phone. Everything they brought us was so fresh and warm! I even had them change an item, which they didn’t seemed bothered at all by. The young man was so polite. I had forgotten that being treated so kindly is what makes dinning out so nice. Thank you! Cons…kinda: Our order took awhile, but we were there to enjoy the food & company, not grab and run.(We were hoping for laid back & we loved it!) It does(as one reviewer remarked) have a slight smell as you enter, which am pretty sure was simple basic no frills cleaner. Crepes don’t doggie bag well… They were Huge xD(so not a complaint) but sad to walk away from… We ordered to share, it all looked so good, ordered too much, so we couldn’t finish. Return? Yes! Next visit with my daughter I hope to be back! Definitely a place to make time for!

Me and my wife came in here literally on a whim, just driving down the road. I must say, we were more than pleasantly supprised. The do not have a huge selection, mainly just crepes and sandwhiches, but the ability to create your own could be more than enough! First, I got a crêpe, with eggs, bacon, chicken, and cheese The chicken was extremely plain, but everything else about it was just perfect. The have a variety of sauces you can spread on your crêpe. I prefer ed the maple syrup, because the sweet brown grave was a bit too much for me. Filled me up well. The hash browns were pretty plain, though. Also, the chicken costed 2 bucks, just to add a few flavorless pieces. That was kinda dissappointing. My wife ordered the broiled burger. Despite the onion flavored lettuce, she thought it was really good. Not as good as somewhere like fat mos, but still quite good. While not a mind blowing place, it was all atill really good. We will be coming back, and think it’s worth anybody time to at least give it a shot, at least once.

I came here because it had quite a few reviews and I love crepes. These were the worst crepes I have ever had. They Were over cooked and awful. A crêpe should not be brown and crispy. The filling was not the best either. We got 4 crepes 2 dessert ones and two off the menu and I was disappointed with everyone one. We didn’t even eat them. On the other hand the server was great and the lattes were honestly amazing.

What a surprise hiding in Mount Juliet! Took a shot on a Sunday morning and found a great surprise! Don’t let the crape thing throw you off. Lots of other meals to chose from. The coffee was amazing! Real barista style coffee! We had breakfast crapes with eggs, choice of great cheeses and veggies. So good! And had the wonderful surprise of a 2 piece blue grass band at 11am on a Sunday. Our breakfast turned into a 2.5 hour experience! Only reason not 5 stars… server was a bit slow. Asked for coffee refills twice before getting it, and it wasn’t busy yet. Some training can easily correct this to 5 stars! Will be back!

First off the place smells. Then my son had extra protein in his hash browns; a fly. My cheese and tomato omelette was cooked way to much on the outside and yet the cheese, of which there was way to much of, wasn’t even melted. My hash browns which came in «ice cream scoop» form hadn’t been near any source of heat. The waitress failed to check on how are food was after serving it and only returned to our table 15 minutes later asking if I needed a box. She didn’t seem to think she should ask why I hadn’t eaten it. Two words sum up my opinion of Sonny’s– STAYAWAY!

Visiting family in Hermitage this week and finally decided to venture out on my own for some breakfast food. Having never tried a crêpe before I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, but was willing to chalk it up to inexperience if I ended up with something I didn’t like, rather than blaming the place that brought it to me. Glenda walked me through putting my own crêpe together, I picked a s’more drink and called it a meal. My only disappointment is that I’ve waited until this point in my life to try a crêpe. Having finished the s’more drink, I moved on to the Slammin’ Sam, and they are equally amazing. Being from a small town, it’s nice to find a place on vacation that doesn’t necessarily feel like it’s bordering an area like Nashville, but the décor and atmosphere don’t let it slip completely out of your mind. This. Place. Is. Awesome.

Excellent service! The gluten free crepes were delicious. Goat cheese is an ingredient and not an extra. Highly recommend stopping in.

When in there on Sunday afternoon with my entire family. I had hungry wife and three kids ready to eat. When we got there, it was easy to park. When we walked in, the acoustic was horrible and they were blasting the live music. Musicians was great but the audio level was way too high to enjoy food and music. The next issue we had was we have to wait 20 minutes. But the next problem was The restaurant seems to prioritize customer lines by familiar faces. We got there 15 minutes before the group came in behind us, but we were seated after them. It was not the group size issue since they had six people. Food quality was not too bad. The crapes there can be compared to IHOP and that’s about it. The syrup they use is way too sweet to enjoy the creep itself all the fruits that they say they have are from a can or jar. The service was below par we have to wait 10 minutes for the server to come and take our order after I went up to the counter. I hope the service change soon since the people working there are friendly and I hope the issues are getting resolved. I really think this restaurant could be a cool place.

We stopped by Sonny’s on 3÷30÷15 for brunch after searching for a place in the area which served gluten free food. The idea of a gluten free crêpe intrigued us so we decided to try this place out. Boy are we glad we did too, both of our crepes were spot on. Her’s was gluten free and mine was standard. We both got the Jammin Salmon crêpe which had smoked salmon, crème cheese and spinach in it. Both crepes were very good, so good in fact, we ordered a third crêpe for dessert; the Berry Bomb crêpe. It was gluten free as well. I ate most of it as she was filled up from the jamming salmon. But the mixes of sweet and sour of that crêpe were fantastic. We did order an appetizer but the waitress forgot to put in the order for it(trust me, the crepes were plenty though). On a side note, the restaurant is filled with music memorabilia. They have a lot of signed photos, guitars and long play albums. They also had a couple of platinum/gold records. Although these items were for sale, every last one of them was way over prices by over double. I guess you have to make some extra money somehow. They were also working on something downstairs in the restaurant and the constant sound of hammering was present during our visit. All-in-all this restaurant would have been an easy 5 star but I had to take away 1 star due to them forgetting about our appetizer and the noise level(you should wait to remodel, etc. after hours).

I think this place really deserves a review. My first impression was interesting, stepping into this place I really didn’t know what to expect. It really looked like a mom and pops kind of place and I honestly don’t know what I thought. Mixed feelings, but these feelings dessipated soon after I saw what was placed in front of me. I asked for the Uncle Jim Reuben sandwich, and was I delighted. It was a burst of flavor in every single bite. Honestly it was the best Reuben I’ve ever tasted that didn’t require an expensive visit to New York. Highly recommend this place, I’ll be coming back soon.

I’m home for Christmas from California and was not expecting to find this gem! I went with my Dad who normally frequents Panera for breakfast. He reported many times how delicious and wonderful his mocha and crêpe was! I got a dirty iced pumpkin chai and the babe crêpe(employee Caleb’s recommendation) and dad got a chocolate mocha and the babe crêpe. The drinks were great but the crepes were outstanding! 10⁄10 for sure! Caleb was great! I will definitely be back here every time I’m in town!

with the groupon loaded on our phone, and our phone in hand, we eagerly navigated the rainy roads to here. with mostly good reviews(sans the one«bad» one) we were sure that we found our new breakfast spot. …but crepes. not just anyone can make a great crêpe. so much science! i’m sure alton brown has done an episode on the persnicketiness of crepes. one minor misstep in the process, and — boom! no bueno. can a low-key place in mt. juliet really have great crepes? one way to find out. and if not, no biggie, we had a groupon. i ordered a crêpe with ham, apple, and havarti cheese(they didn’t have brie, which is my favorite, so a soft havarti was the next best thing). the hubs ordered one with avocado and roast beef, and something else. we both ordered chai tea, and the appetizer plate of cheese and hummus. my crêpe: delicious! perfecto! amazing! lovely! everything i hoped it would be. shaved/shredded ham, delicious apples, and the crêpe itself-perfect! i topped it with honey and i had forgotten all about being ill(i’m battling a nasty little respiratory thing, thanks a lot preschool punks!) and was in heaven. it might be winter outside, but it was summer in my heart. the only down part was my chai wasn’t hot, it was more lukewarm. also i asked the owner(who was there and very involved-serving tables, greeting customers, asking about their experience) about them having brie as an option, and he said they did when they first opened, but nobody ordered it on their crepes, so they stopped carrying it. c’mon mt. juliet! y’all are better than that! ask for brie and they’ll start carrying it again(because crepes with brie are just magical!). overall, great creperie, i’ll definitely be going back.

The place wasn’t that busy. We waited 25 minutes for our drinks and another 20 after that for our sub par food. The concept is great, but flavors fell flat. The strawberry chocolate crêpe came out cold and tasted/looked like it was full of jam and Hershey syrup. My daughter even said it was gross. The grilled cheese was burned and not ooey gooey like it’s name. We weren’t asked for refills or checked on the entire time we were there. worse restaurant service I’ve ever had.

I rarely go out to the Mt. Juliet area but had an errand to run. I found this place by searching on Unilocal and was very pleased. There is ample parking, great vegetarian, vegan(soy and almond milk), and gluten free(bread and crepes) options. There is free wifi, ample seating, live music on some evenings, and the prices are very reasonable. The service was excellent although a little slow but I wasn’t in a rush. I had the Athena on a gluten free crêpe with the roasted vegetable soup. It was very good and the portions are great. I also had the Smores coffee drink, and it was heavenly! I will definitely make plans to go back out there very soon!
