What an amazing pizza experience. The box was so big we had to put it in the car through the trunk. Close to NY style, close enough anyway, I loved it. Could barely finish the one slice it was so big.

I think this place is so highly rated because of the gimmick of a huge pizza. The slices are giant but the actual pizza isn’t much to write home about. The pepperoni was barely cooked, didn’t even stick to the cheese. Basically they heated up a cheese piece for 5 min with some pepperoni slices on it. The crust was doughy and lacked flavor — probably the reason they have dipping sauces. If I was wasted and hungry, I would totally eat this pizza but for actual good pizza in Charleston, I’ll keep looking.

Best pizza around town for sure!!! I stopped by my first time 2 weeks ago, and service was amazing by the ladies and gentlemen staff! They got my slice out fast, and they were all very friendly! But my husband came in last Saturday after his late shift, and did not have a good time. He said the employees were being noisy and complaining about their jobs in front of customers! Jobs always have ups and downs but you shouldn’t shout about it in front of customers! Over all the pizza is to die for! Just a slip up with one of the employees but besides that best pizza place in town!

Great pizza and great service! I was really impressed by Brian and Joshua’s professionalism. Both of these guys know pizza and made my visit great. I’ve been here twice in two days, they have one of the best slices of pizza in Charleston.

What can I say, besides the fact that it’s my favorite pizza around? It’s price per quantity is an insanely great bargain, but it still retains an immensely high flavor quality. The staff are all 10/10, and I never fail to have a great time at Benny’s!

Yum! I would have given 5 stars, but I wanted to order a whole pie via phone and their phone wouldn’t answer for ½ an hour. So, I stopped in and got a bunch of slices. The pizza is really good(and BIG). Thin, crisp crust with great sauce and cheese. I tried the special artichoke and spinach pizza, which was awesome. The folks running the front were really nice and I only had to wait a few minutes to get 6 slices boxed up for me. Liked it so much that I will go back and get a whole pie next time with my Groupon. My new go-to place for pizza in Mount Pleasant.

Gosh, I just have gotten better pizza in Charleston. The size isn’t an appeal to me, and Im reading a lot of «its sooo big» on here, as if thats the best thing about this place. I actually stumbled upon a Groupon for this place-an excellent deal, $ 14 for a largeeee cheese pie and any 4 drinks. Called around 635, fella on the other end tells me it’ll be ready at 705. Cool. Got there at 7, hoping it was just out of the oven, still not really realizing how large this pizza was. Its up on top of the oven, and its ready to go. I pick out my 4 drinks, and you could pick out anything, can, bottle – anything, which was nice. She puts the pizza in front of me and I’m floored on how big this thing is. I mean… why? I had to go to my car, lower the passenger seat all the way to the back seat and tilt the box sideways to even get this box in my car. A Tahoe would have been handy. (My 75 year old aunt came to my place and saw the pizza on my table. She says, «well damn, you could knock someone out with this damn thing!» lol I have a lot of cursing elderly women in my family. Everyone needs one.) I get it home, open it up and its not hot. Warm maybe – you know when the cheese is getting stiff and kinda hard, it was there. Bummer. As far as the taste goes, the pizza is on the salty side, and a bit greasy. Based on this experience, I’d definitely bypass Benny’s and hit up some of the other noteworthy pizza places in Charleston. Though they are few, they do exist. Maybe I’d get a slice from here, I dont know. Besides, honestly, it really boils down to the fact that there is no way in hell I’d pay $ 32 for any cheese pie. Near $ 40+ for a pie with toppings: theres just no way.

Let me start by saying that I am a true Chicagoian and Chicago deep dish will always be number one in my life, but damn Benny!!! I have had a ton of different New York style pizza and this place is the first one I will tip my hat off too. This place, of all the NY pizza places, has truly received my respect for this style of pizza. It is so flipping good! They got it right and they know it! You can tell when eating this pizza that they have carefully selected only premium ingredients. Every single note of flavor just screams premium! I seriously couldn’t tell you how they could make this pizza better. Just wow! I also dig the inside of this place. Fun colors, very clean, booths and a little pizza bar top. It’s just cool. And the chick I ordered from was a sweetheart with professionalism. Benny Palmetto’s thank you for proving me wrong in having thought that I’d never find and love a NY style pizza place! I will absolutely be back!

My boyfriend and I love bennys! Giant slices. crisp thin crust like NY style. It is simple and good. Few topping choices, but don’t let that stop you! Also, tons of sodas to choose from. Sodas are all $ 1. and all tax is included in the prices. Not a bad deal!

As a company we tried to order pizzas at 1:30 am… They flat out said they don’t care about customers… they are open until 2am and they answered the phone but refused to make pizzas

Had a most excellent lunch here. This is true NYC-style pizza. Actually having lived there for years, this rivals and/or exceeds any slice in the city or Brooklyn. My huge cheese slice came out fresh, with a super thin crust with the right combo of crunch and chewiness. The ratio of cheese to sauce was just perfect. This pizza is a masterpiece and the service is great.

I’ve been here multiple times and the pizza is always hot and delicious. Their specials really make you want to visit at least once a month. I’ve never gotten a whole pie, but you have to remember that an entire pizza there serves 8. Yes, you heard that right. It’s a slice a person. Their drink selection is great and now even better that they have beer. Definitely worthy of checking out.

Good tasty pizza. Only 2 toppings available. Bought one on Charleston Deals. Paid a lot less than $ 38. Plenty left to take home. Only had beverages in cans. Tap water in plastic cups, no ice or tea. Beer good, service great. Called ahead on the way. Pizza in the oven short wait. Will go again on a deal only.

I thought it might be a lot more hype because of the enormous slice thing that they got going on, it’s not. I got a slice and it reminded me of a real NY thin slice. It was great! There are not a ton of options for people looking all bunches of varieties of toppings. It is just real good, simple slices of pie to go! Slice of cheese or pepperoni, thank you very much & see you next time!

OK, starting off with the negative. They did not have ice. Weird. They sell drinks and just found that odd. Several at our table felt the same way and wanted some. OK, my real review is this place had a great pizza. And it is huge. I had gotten a Charleston Deal and paid half price for a 28″ pizza. Also bought several beers and wine so spent more money. Decent beer. Decent wine. Awesome pizza. And did I say it was huge. They had great pepperoni and lots of cheese. They had chipotle, garlic, red pepper, and several other choices for spices to put on your pizza that we loved. Did I tell you this thing is huge! If not, it is. And this is the only size they sell which is not a big deal since you can buy a slice for about $ 5 or $ 6 which will serve a person or 2 small folks. This thing is huge. And it was mighty tasty. I worry this place will not make it because the staff seemed a little aloof. I hope different. Managers get these guys a little more lively. We went on a Friday night and not enough folks were there. You have a great product. Good flavors. And did I mention the Pizza there is HUGE. Really. See you again soon! When I walk in hopefully a more vibrant bunch but still HUGE pizza!

We were looking for a quick bite and this fit the bill. Very large slices of pizza. About $ 5 each. They had many options for sodas and had a handful of canned beer options. It was basic pizza — nothing amazing, but filling and good. Thinner crust but then thicker and chewy on edges. Casual counter service.

You know when you go to Costco and Sams and you are all excited about the humungo sized stuff for an affordable price? Benny’s is the Costco of pizza. Its good, its reliable, its nothing special. I just didn’t like that you could only have two pizza flavors depending on what’s in the oven. The pizza is warm, but greasy. The slices are HUGE! I thought I wouldn’t like the thinner crust, but really its very doughy and soft. I think it would better if they added some greens or sides to make it a more well rounded restaurant. The beer selection is delicious… I loved the Kolsch, and I love that they have 40s :) I think this place is a great pit stop on the way to the beach because it is by the slice, or if you are having an event or party because of the size of one pizza. Give it a try, you won’t love it… but you won’t hate it either :)

Don’t hate me because I don’t love Benny’s … I tried … I really tried. But, frankly, I was hoping for a little more … more toppings, more sizes, more menu selections. Is that too much to ask …(especially, with Andolini’s right across the street … and La Pizzeria right up the road)? Benny’s sells just two sizes … 14″ slices or 28″ pies. You can order either size, just with cheese($ 4.50 and $ 32.00 respectively), or, with one additional topping … either sausage or pepperoni($ 5.50 and $ 38.00, respectively). Two additional toppings are rotated each month at the premium price. But, what about a salad … or multiple toppings … or, … or, … you get the picture! OK, the size is certainly a draw … but bigger is not always better and frankly, it isn’t enough to draw me back to Benny’s. When I order a whole pie, anywhere, I expect it to be fresh, piping hot … made to order. The pie that I purchased for my hub, today, clearly was not. In fact, I saw the associate simply add slices of sausage to a whole cheese pie that was already baked and(waiting to be sliced up and served to walk ins) then, re-bake it. Yes, my hub’s face did light up when I came home with the huge, huge box but his delight quickly turned to disappointment when he picked up the first slice of the limp and underdone crust and bit into cheese that not only was overlooked but looked and tasted like it was prepared at least 45 minutes earlier. Top line … if you’re coming off a night of partying and have the munchies … then, Benny’s is the place for you. If not, there are other spots in Mt. P where you can get great pizza at a better price. Sorry :(
