Today is Sunday so we came for the bottomless mamosas and it turn out you can’t stay here for more than an hour before you get orange juice. The huevos rancheros were not what I expected at all and and they just didn’t have it today. For first time person been here they do not meet any of my expectations.

Great first experience dining at this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful, there’s a full bar stocked with local and import beers, and the menu is lush and varied. They even have a gluten free menu available upon request. It’s a little bit on the pricy side, but the quality of food and service definitely makes up for it. There’s also a private lot for customers to park in. Casual to dressy attire. Seems to be good for both families with kids and dates.

Very nice resteraunt with great menu selections. The seared tuna was awesome, the house salad with mustard vinegarette was great. The steak on the ceasar salad was barely edible. The spinach quiche was great and the chili was amazing. Prices were very high. Service and ambiance were awesome.

In one word, sheer perfection! From the host who took my order, to the quality and freshness of my food, to the accuracy of my order, this is definitely a 5-star dining establishment! I ordered the Caesar salad, which was served with fresh croutons and a very tasty dressing. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. Delicious! I ordered the Grilled Maple Chicken Sandwich as my main meal. Simply scrumptious! The bread was fresh and crispy, the grilled chicken breast perfectly seasoned, and the sauce delicious! For dessert, I ordered the Hummingbird Cake. It was very tasty and was topped with a delicious caramel cream sauce and grilled pineapple. I will definitely return!!! Well done!!!

3 stars, that’s it. And it ain’t for the food. The location, service, and ambiance of Burtons is why I gave them 3 stars. Still pretty high in my book. As I entered the restaurant I had high expectations being as how upscale it looked but it’s another one of those places where you expect one thing and get another. Now if Unilocal was only rating for the décor then this place gets 5 stars but unfortunately for Burtons it doesn’t. They hit every mark when dining except the food part. And for me that’s what it’s all about. It you like sushi then the seared ahi tuna will totally disappoint it was seared and probably put in the fridge then served. It was not good. The coleslaw was bland, and sweet potato fries were over cooked. The crab cakes were good along with the mustard sauce it was served with. My dish on the other hand tasted weird. It was not a good combo, there are just some things you can’t put feta cheese on people! I agree with another Unilocaler out there they need a new chef fast! Please people taste the food before you serve it, it will make or break you.

Pleasant surroundings and décor right on RT. 17 shopping center district — a pleasant hostess greeted us, and there was quick seating. Good variety food and drink menu. All food is individually prepared… And that allows for an unhurried dining experience… our waitress asked if there were any diet restrictions or special needs. She was very knowledgeable about drink composition and tastes. Knew the house brand vodka, plus all others and was able to explain subtle differences to ‘High Maintenance’. Our pal ‘Patty Cake’ went for a boring beer… exactly what she likes. there is a good selection of ‘boring’ beers and craft beers and ales. I opted for the Cincinnati Cider, after it was described … I usually wouldn’t order a cider, but like to try different things… Our waitress suggested it and it turned out to be a better than expected pairing! Patty C and High M are on ‘Weight W’ even before January … one got the sensible Caesar Salad with dressing on the side… the other went for the ‘as rare as you can make it’ MaxBurger, without the cheese. Both gals reported getting exactly what they ordered, and enjoyed every bite! I went for the medium rare MaxBurger, and it was juicy and just the way I like it. The Max comes with lots of sweet potato fries… so good that Patty Cake ‘stole’ a major supply from High M… We enjoyed everything. It’s a nice friendly place, good food and drink and good service. Customers ranged from young families, young adults to old geezers like me. Enjoy!

Burton’s is a chain restaurant and meh… it’s A-ok to me. In a city where character thrives, and big box chain restaurants on every corner is sparse, I can convincingly say I want return. Not because of anything bad or specific. It just seemed institutional to me. But Laura and I popped in last night as we were running a bunch of errands and needed a quick bit. I was fully expecting a decent happy hour as I had used the Unilocal App to search for nearby happy hour specials and Burton’s had 4 stars. To my disappointment, the only happy hour specials were on drinks. A man can’t, no, SHOULDN’T shop on booze a lone. I needed meat.(enter chest beat now) there were 2 seats at the bar so we sat and were greeted promptly. See, like I said, not a bad experience thus far. We told our bartender it was our first time and he was happy to explain that Burton’s is a chain, and is a made from scratch kitchen. Then he told us about the drink specials. No food specials. So we ordered a couple of drinks and 2 apps to split. Beer and wine delivered with the quickness. Food promptly followed. The firecracker shrimp were delish awhile the Philly spring rolls were just meat and cheese wrapped in fillo and deep fried. Nothing spectacular. So, to sum it all up, it’s a chain. It’s not bad. It’s not fantastic. It’s A-ok.

This place has the BEST kid’s menu I’ve ever seen. Real food, veggies and fruit choices. Love it! I love the roasted beet salad

overall you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. I have had plenty of meals here, I haven’t been disappointed yet. The outside eating is definitely better than the inside eating.

My wife and I relocated to MP from Atlanta a few months ago and were excited to try Burtons. Our first experience was OK, but consistently went down hill over our next visits. Tried for Sunday Brunch on 2nd visit. Eggs Benedict were cold, and the Tater Tot Grits tastes like something I had as a child in a Swanson’s TV Dinner. My wife ordered the Veggie Burger with just cheese & tomatoes, and asked if the bun was toasted. The brought it out and it was prepared with everything she didn’t ask for. So she watched me eat my cold eggs Benedict & Bland Greasy Tater-Tot Grits. When they finally brought her Veggie Burger, bun was still not toasted, and was undercooked because they rushed it. So we thought maybe we just caught them on a bad day. On our 3rd visit, I tried the Fish Tacos. They were unimpressive. No Seasoning, very bland, and the soft shell taco was ice cold — just out of the bag. My wife ordered her Veggie Burger — and they repeated the same from the previous trip. The good news was she could munch on her french fries while waiting for her re make VB. Wrong — they were Ice Cold, and soaked in grease. You know — the reheat type. Spoke with manager and he comped our meal. He said he was sorry and asked that we come back and give them another try. About a week later we did for a late lunch — and it was a repeat of the week before. Waitress excuse was«she thought maybe only one person was working in the Kitchen». I won’t go into the details because I’m now suffering from writers cramp. I had a long conversation with the manager — he comped our meal again, and gave us a gift card for our next visit. We thought about giving our gift card to a friend — but being new in town, we didn’t want to lose any friends. So we went back for more. To no surprise — it was like the movie Groundhog Day. I will give Burtons Credit for one thing. They are consistent, consistently bad. I’m tired of having to go home and make myself something to eat after every visit. I have never written a bad review for ANY restaurant, but I am willing to do this because of the managements inability to fix the problem. In closing, if you can’t even get a Burger & fries right, I seriously doubt if I’m going to order a $ 40 – 50 Steak. My advise, just avoid the aggravation. You don’t have to go through the same painful learning curve we did. The only good thing to come out of this is — you can Park at Burtons, and walk over to PF Chang’s and pick up your To Go order so you can have something to eat when you get home. Update: Shortly after I wrote this review, I discovered that Burtons Double-Dipped & Charged my Credit Card Twice for my meal.

Nice and clean place, server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The rolls were fresh and we enjoyed them. We ordered Fish and chips, Risotto Chicken and a burger. The burger was fine, you could tell the fish and chicken was fresh and not frozen but there was a lack of taste! looked like they hadn’t used any seasoning on their meats! I wish the chef would have added some flavors to the chicken and fish! BTW they have gluten free options as well!

The ABSOLUTEBEST Gluten Free menu I’ve discovered in Charleston! Not just salads for GF folk here… MOST of their menu is GF, giving you plenty of options to choose from, including appetizers, entrees AND desserts. I had the burger and it’s been the best in town thus far! It’s hard finding a good bun, but it was soft and not too dense. The burger even came with battered, crispy onion straws that were GF! If I want those, I have to make them at home myself so it was quite a treat to find them on my burger. Oh, let’s not forget about the GF basket of bread that they bring out to you at the beginning. The butter that comes with it is delish as well! If you have a Gluten sensitivity/Celiac, this spot is definitely a MUST for you.

I wish I loved this place because it’s close to home and would be nice to add to my «go-to» list of restaurants. Well, the inside is very pretty and clean. I like the bar as well. A friend and I sat at the bar and ordered drinks and food. I got the pulled pork sandwich with fires and she just got a salad. The bartender said that the chef got a smoker and is very excited about it; hence the pulled pork. Now, I enjoyed my sandwich and my beer. But it was nothing that wanted me to lick my fingers about. In fact, I gave like ¼ of the sandwich to my friend to try and usually when I’m excited about the food, it’s all going into my stomach. All in all, I think everything is over priced and the food leaves little to be remembered.

Not what I was expecting at all! The food was incredibly flavorful, service was top notch and the atmosphere was more upscale than the orange lettering leads you to believe. Best tip about this place: don’t be fooled, the front door actually faces the road — not the parking lot

The staff was very nice and welcoming and our server went on to tell us about their menu being made all from scratch and never using frozen ingredients. She also informed us that every Burtons location is different and each has a menu that appeals to the demographics of the city it serves. Obviously this introduction set the bar up very high. When the food came out it looked great and the presentation and the vibrant colors were very exciting. But that’s as far as the good experience went. There were three people in our party and everyone was without a doubt disappointed as soon as they took a bite. Everything was bland. There was no seasoning whatsoever added to anything. No flavor, just pure disappointment. We tried the fish and chips, the Mediterranean chicken risotto and a burger. The fish had not been seasoned at all, neither was there any seasoning in the batter. Even the coleslaw that came on the side of the fish and chips was tasteless. The chicken from the risotto was pink in the middle and the burger was greasy. Overall not worth the prices at all. What a waste of all their fresh ingredients. They need to hire a new chef immediatley. The current chef has no business cooking or even standing in a kitchen. Another $ 60 down the drain dining in Charleston
