Will miss this place. Great siracha chicken and mac and cheese. We’ve enjoyed some delicous reds, a wonderful wine selelction.

I seriously have never had a bad meal here. And that’s eating here regularly for the past three years. From the fried green tomato BLT to the shrimp and grits or salmon salad… Happy every time. And OMG love the giant cookies. And the staff is super nice and professional. Unilocal helped me find this place and I hope it helps you get here too! You won’t be disappointed. Say hi to Joan. She always there and super nice to us.

This was my second visit with family while staying at Wild Dunes. They always seem understaffed. My family thought we needed reservations. LOL! So at 6 when we arrived only one table with small loud children and adults. We were seated in a booth with tape on the seat to cover up much needed upholstery work. No specials. A young blonde waitress that had no idea when asked how dishes were prepared. Asked how the chef cooked the salmon. Her reply, well done. My reply, please don’t! My biggest issue was food left out. Raw meat, fish being prepped on a counter and left out? Bottom line, there are other and better choices for food and service. Based on the lack of customers both visits, I would think they may not be around much longer. Needs attention to menu, food and staff!

I visited Mosaic because of the Unilocal reviews and ranking in the area near my hotel. The meals were underwhelming. 1. Not much of a salad selection as a first course. The salads we received were as basic as you could make in your own kitchen within 3 minutes. 2. The Shrimp & Grits were overloaded with cheese, sausage, and other ingredients that must have added 1,000 calories to the dish. 3. The salmon was over breaded with a crispy ingredient that masked the salmon freshness and flavor. The good news was that the server was kind and accommodating. I would not recommend

I’m torn between three and four stars. I feel like I’m being a bit generous but I’m gonna go with four. The food was good. We had the Hang town Fry which was basically fried oysters salad and a fritatta I honestly liked the idea a bit better than the execution but props for originality. Where they really blew me away was the burger. No, that isn’t a joke the Burger was incredible. Get it! It has a fried egg and is made with magic and love! For a side on the burger I recommend the Greek Potatoes. The drinks were ok. Nothing to write home about and I’m fairly sure it was all from a pre-mix but for the price I felt like the Mimosa was actually the better deal. It comes in a large red-wine glass and based on the taste has a decent amount of bubbly. The bloody was meh… one step up from a V-8 and vodka, I just happen to be a big fan of that flavor so no points off there from me. The service was a bit strange. It wasn’t bad and our server was doing the best with what he had but I felt like they were woefully understaffed. Also the atmosphere was a bit strange, I can’t really put my finger on why but even when we first walked in the door it felt like they were surprised to see me… now I get that I’m a really big deal and me walking into your place of work could throw you off your game a bit, so this could totally have been my fault… next time just treat me like a normal person and don’t seem so shocked!

Great little restaurant near my house. We sat outside in the sidewalk. Warmer than the air conditioner inside! But that’s more me. I had a BLT with a side of Cranberry Coleslaw. Delicious. They have a great menu with specials & a good wine list. Definitely worth checking out.

Unfortunately I have to update my review… I originally loved this place, today was a disappointment…(see original review below). Today I ordered my favorite take out… Their Charleston Chicken Roller, which is grilled chicken in a wrap with bacon and pimento cheese. Ordered two for my wife and myself. Both were very dry, my wife didn’t even realize there was pimento cheese inside until I asked. The used to have a good bar, but now all they have are a few basic liquors and wine/beer selection. I usually have a margarita, but one person said they could no longer make it but someone else said they could get one together. It was OK, not great. I also ordered their side salad, and although I thought I usually ordered it with their green goddess dressing, I asked what was avaiable. Server said a bunch of vinaigrette’s, ranch, etc. I prefer ranch, so ordered it, just before my food was delivered, I was told they were out of ranch. But later the original person I placed the order with said he was new and didn’t realize they didn’t’ have ranch. Now, their green goddess is actually good, but the two stories about why no ranch didn’t match. The last time I was here, I did have their gouda shrimp and grits which were actually very good. Their menu selection also seems to be dwindling… —- original review —- Mosaic is one of my favorite local places to eat. The wait staff is always friendly, food is awesome. For a quick bite, their charleston chicken roller(chicken, Gouda pimento cheese, bacon in a wrap) is great, they also have a Fit 450 calorie selection which is also very yummy. Their shrimp and grits, again with Gouda grits, is outstanding. The pork chops have always been well cooked, moist and flavorful.

Disappointed dinner experience. Our service was not to par. She admitted she was vegetarian and didn’t know anything about the meat selection. When she delivered our drinks, our children’s drink overflowed and the server did nothing but stand there. She was basically just watching us resolve the situation. I ordered the super fit salmon salad and it came with overcooked Salmon and no dressing. I had to ask the person who delivered our food for dressing since our server was not there. Everyone else’s black bean wrap seemed okay. I feel that the experience would have been better if the service was better. My salmon being over cooked was a terrible mistake as well as not providing salad dressing to go with the salad. I am truly sad for our experience because I have always thought highly of Mosaic, but I feel they have gone touristy and lost their quality service.

I must update my review, as we attempted to eat at Mosaic(Friday night, 7pm) but had to walk out due to poor service. We arrived to a more than half empty restaurant, were greeted by a server and seated. We then sat reviewing the menu and waited, waited and waited. Not once did any of 3 servers working stop by, so with that being a sign of what kind of service the night offered, we walked out. An established restaurant like Mosaic should have their A team working on a Friday night. We have liked the food, but service counts. Not sure we will return. The customer matters.

I had the pleasure of being in Charleston, SC on business the week of March 16 – 20, 2015 and I was on a quest to eat at some of the more popular restaurants as rated by Unilocal.I never thought of eating in Mount Pleasant, SC but it was just across the Arthur Ravenel bridge which spans the Cooper River and there were 2 top rated restaurants on Unilocal; one of which was Mosaic. As a side bonus, I had a dinner«date» with my Aunt, whom I had not seen in over a decade, so I was looking forward to it. Upon our arrival on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, we found the restaurant to be pretty empty. Of the 60 – 75 available seats, only 10 or so were in use. We were«greeted» by a very quiet server who seated us immediately. Her quietness and demeanor could almost be classified as disenchanted but perhaps I misread her or she was having an off day. Not rude by any means, just not overtly friendly as a hostess should be. Our server Aldis was much more personable and greeted us within a minute of being seated. We started with an appetizer of Bicycle Spring Roll which consisted of 4 rolls of sweet & savory chicken, fresh veggies, walnuts and a spicy sriracha-honey sauce. The rolls came out quick and the presentation was top notch. However, I think they were fried too long. We also got an order of the Mini crab cakes appetizer, and they were perfect. These 3 cakes were small in size but big in flavor as they were perfectly pan seared and served with a chipotle tartar sauce. Presentation again was spot on. We also split a side dish of their smoked gouda mac & cheese. This parmesan-bacon crusted delicacy was overly rich, almost to the point of being too rich. However, that didn’t stop me from polishing it off either. My aunt, who frequents here from time to time got the Tuscan Chicken for her entrée; which consisted of a pan fried chicken breast cutlet, artichoke hearts, baby spinach and lemon-caper pan sauce, with Greek potatoes & seasonal vegetable, which happened to be baby rainbow carrots. Although I didn’t sample it(shame on me), it looked awesome. I opted for the Mosaic Salmon, which consisted of a potato-crusted & lightly fried salmon filet with basil mustard on top of a mound of stone ground grits and baby rainbow carrots. I was tempted to get the salmon pan seared, but this potato crusted fried version was awesome, cooked perfectly and was as moist as any baked salmon I have ever eaten. The stone-ground grits were the perfect consistency, and for a person that doesn’t like carrots, these baby rainbow carrots were great. Again, presentation was awesome. By the time we finished our 3 appetizers and entrees, there wasn’t any room for dessert, which is a shame. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this place and it is definitely worthy of it’s 4 star Unilocal rating. Aside from their wonderful entrees, they also have burgers & sandwiches, a light fare menu featuring 4 meals with less than 450 calories and a kids menu. It’s safe to say that whatever your fancy is, Mosaic has got you covered.

My friends and I decided to try out a different restaurant for Charleston’s Restaurant Week. We had just moved to the area not too long ago. We decided to try out Mosaic. We were not disappointed. At first we were a little weary because when we arrived there was barely anyone inside. Usually that’s a red flag for me but it was on a Sunday so maybe that’s the norm. We gave it a shot anyways and I am so glad we did! We did a three course meal for $ 25 and it was amazing! Starter: Caprese Salad– 4 stars! Beautiful presentation and it was delicious! Loved the fried green tomatoes addition! So good! Entrée: Bolognese Pasta– 5 stars! Our server had made the suggestion to me and he was spot on! I could’ve went for seconds, thirds and fourths! Excellent! Dessert: Chocolate Pâté with peanut brittle 3 stars I am a chocolate lover so that aspect of it was great. It had too many nuts in it for my liking but nothing horrible. I think they were pistachios. Also the raspberries didn’t taste fresh and were a little tart for me. My friends had the bread pudding and the coconut cake. The coconut cake was very bland. Nothing special about it. The bread pudding was everyone’s favorite but I’d still even give that 3 stars. Service: AMAZING! The manager visited us for every course and was engaged just enough to not be annoying or overwhelming. Our server was spot on. Very friendly and very attentive. Never had to ask for refills and never needed one! Décor: It was low key meets upscale. The place is pretty pricy outside of our special. There’s a bookcase for advertising material right in front as soon as you walk in and its kind of in your face. I’d put it out to the side to create a more roomy feel. Overall the temperature was great, not too loud inside and the hostess was very friendly. I’d definitely come back but probably only for special occasions. ;)

We stopped by here on Sunday for brunch, and had a pleasant experience. The menu was short and sweet, but had something for everyone on it, not like some places where it takes 20 minutes just to read through all of the options. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Our waitress disappeared for a few minutes, but the rest of the staff made sure we were taken care of in her absence. Unfortunately, we did have to wait for our check because of it, but we were in no hurry. We were served a complimentary piece of banana walnut bread/cake, and it was delicious! I wished I could have had more than just the two bites that were provided. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, which he enjoyed. I ordered the gluten-free banana-oat pancakes, and although they looked darker than I would expect of pancakes, they tasted delicious. I suspect the color has to do with the different ingredients used in gluten-free cooking/baking. Overall, had the server not disappeared on us, I would probably have given this place four stars.

Had been here for lunch a number of times and always enjoyed it. Went for dinner tonight. Most main courses are under twenty dollars and the servings are ample, so you get good value for your dollar. The food is excellent! The award-winning mac ‘n cheese was delicious. This restaurant should have people waiting in line to get in, it’s that good. Three details guide me to give Mosaic 5 stars — they have real candles on the table, they use cloth napkins, and they use real glasses for their water and tea beverages. We have spent over $ 20 per entrée at other nearby restaurants that used paper napkins and hard plastic cups. Small details, perhaps, but the devil is in the details. You will not be disappointed here. It may be the best restaurant meal you will have had in a while.

I hate to say but I have to update my review. Mosaic is slipping a bit. Once my favorite Mt P brunch spot, and now I find myself looking to go elsewhere. The food is still good but the service has been real shoddy lately. Multiple time in a row I’ve gone in and been told they were out of menus and we needed to share one until other menus became available. What? Print more menus then and make sure you have the lunch and brunch menu. You can order off of either and some of the prices are different because they up-charge for brunch on the exact same item. The place is starting to look run down as well. At first glance, things look okay but, take a look around(we had plenty of time to while waiting) and you’ll notice that things are broken, dated, and the backs of some of booths(visible right when you walk in the door) are just filthy. I heard rumor that they may close and just stick to catering which I truly hope is not true. It’s completely understandable to not drop money into upgrades if things are tight but, get some more menus and clean up a bit. Maybe the staff is getting complacent and just seeming like they don’t care as much. Everything seems to be going down hill except the food. I don’t want to come off as harsh. This comes from a place of love. I want my old Mosaic back!

I had brunch here today and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant was very bright and inviting. It had a warm and comfortable atmosphere. There were some good options on the menu. I got the rains breakfast with eggs over med, French toast and potatoes, and side of Mac and cheese. The eggs were a bit runny for my taste, but the potatoes and french toast were delicious. The mac and cheese was AMAZING! You must try it. There was bacon crumble on top, which made for a nice crunch. It was cheesy, rich and creamy. The service was a bit spotty. When we sat down the hostess didn’t bring us 4 menus, only 2 and went to get more. When she eventually came back she only had one. The waiter was very polite but a bit slow to get our initial drinks out. Nothing major, but worth noting. The coffee was really delicious and fresh. Overall a great experience and I would go again.

I have been to Mosaic three times now and have had mixed emotions. The first time was phenomenal, the second time was terrible, and this most recent time was great. I tend to really enjoy the atmosphere here, and the last visit was no different. They have even stepped up their game with a bread appetizer and tiny candles on the tables. The chive butter with the bread is phenomenal and makes all the difference when it comes to taste. We had the chip pail appetizer. The chips were obviously homemade(yay) and the srirachia tzatziki was just spicy enough to complement the potato. While I enjoy Graze’s mac and cheese, Mosaic has definitely stolen the show with theirs. Cavatappi with creamy gouda — yes please! I was not a fan of the bacon, but I am sure had I asked for it without they would have complied. Our server was a little slower than I would have thought(there was almost no one in the restaurant), but he never let my drink run dry. Be careful when finding menu items online-Mosaic changes out their menu seasonally and offers specials!

I’ve been to Mosaic twice several years ago for a few lunch dates with friends, but it was never a place I craved going so it had been awhile since I’d been here. Recently I was shopping at the Crescent Olive in Seaside and was getting hungry. I also am recently trying to lose weight which is a nightmare for eating out. Fortunately I remembered that Mosaic while right down the street from Seaside Farms also has a relatively healthy menu. So we stopped in and it looked about the same as I remembered from a few years ago. The décor is a little odd. I can’t put my finger on it but something about this place just doesn’t «go». But it is pleasant enough so its not a big deal. Mosaic has a seasonal menu as well as a fit 450 section. I am usually pretty wary of these kinds of menus, but the ingredients speak for themselves in terms of health. They also list the portion size of the protein on the menu so I know how much I am getting which in terms of dieting and tracking your food, is very helpful. I decided on the Fit curry which had fresh vegetables in a light coconut milk yellow curry, quinoa and shrimp. It was excellent! There were a lot of veggies which I appreciated since that helped fill me up to the point where I couldn’t finish the whole thing. The shrimp was cooked perfectly which was to say just enough to be filled cooked and not rubbery. I was able to put the rest in the microwave the next day and the shrimp was still tender. My fiancée got a half and half tea which is half sweet tea half unsweetened. I tried some of it and I thought I recognized the flavor as it had a distinct orange flavor. It was delicious and after some pondering I recognized it as what I thought was Constant Comment. I asked the waitress and she said it was actually a mixture of Mandarine Spice and Orange Pekoe(regular black tea). So I was almost right and if you are familiar with Constant Comment you would think this tea was the iced version of it. The half and half itself was plenty sweet so if you don’t like overly sweet sweet tea ask for this one half and half. Overall it was a great dining experience and a life saver for my hungry, dieting self.
