I was very aware of Images«reputation» before coming here. I’ve read reviews online, heard stories from friends, and I even had to buy a bridesmaid dress from here once in the past(not a great experience then either). The only two reasons that I took a chance on this place was: 1. I’m a very firm believer in supporting local businesses in the city I live in. 2. The price point on the bridesmaid dresses was about $ 40 less than other stores I was at. And since I already picked out an expensive dress for the girls, I figured I could at least find them the best deal. Plus how bad could this place really be right? The first time I walked in, I didn’t have an appointment(note: their website states«appointments preferred»). But I was just planning on browsing the dresses and the prices, I had no intentions of needing to try on anything, I was alone anyways and was strictly looking for bridesmaid dresses. Before getting to work writing down all of this info in my notebook, I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t a problem. I walked up to the counter where a lady was sitting and another was standing with her head down in a book. No joke, for 3 minutes(which feels like forever when it’s in silence) not one person said anything nor looked at me. Umm… ok. The cold personalities, unwillingness to help, unprofessionalism and down right terrible customer service carried throughout the entire experience I’ve had with this place. When I decided to place the order on my next visit, everything was going smoothly with the measurements and getting the orders in.(mind you I was double checking every receipt to make sure that size, style, and color were on the receipt correctly — like I said, I’ve heard stories about this place…) Until they got to the one plus size girl. Now she had previously been measured at another location for the same dress, I would know because I was there! Images wanted her to order a 26 versus the 20 or 22 the other store recommended. Wth?! How is there that big of a size difference between two places? Well she ended up going with the 22 and apparently the associate was very snippy about it making sure that my bridesmaid knew that«its not as easy to add extra fabric as it is to take fabric in.» Wow. So the dresses come and I go with the same bridesmaid to pickup her dress. We try it on and the 22 was fine. The 26 would have been WAY to big. Good call on our end, not like this our job or we know what we are doing for that matter… She goes to pay for a dress and she had only brought her checkbook. She realized prior that she forgot her credit/debit card wallet at work — but the receipt specifically didn’t state how it needed to be paid for, nor were we told. NOW they tell us that you can’t pay the balance with a check because they have too many checks returned. First of all, my bridesmaid nor myself nor anyone in my wedding party would EVER even think of writing a bad check. However, I can be understanding so when I explained we should’ve been told this, the owner, Connie said well it’s on your receipt and I asked to show me where. Naturally she couldn’t find it. I’m not surprised BECAUSEITWASN’T ONTHERE!!! So even after all of this, I for some reason find it necessary to give them another chance and make an appointment to check out tux rentals. That appointment lasted 10 minutes. I walked in and a girl with a grubby t-shirt and some worn out dress pants sat us at a table with a book and vaguely explained the styles & pricing. I browsed for a few minutes and had some more questions.(I’m not a dude, I don’t know the first thing about tuxedos). Finally she comes back over and they didn’t even have anything to compare so I could see what it would kind of look like in person. Well who the hell orders these things without even knowing what it looks like aside from the seeing it on the photo-shopped picture of a model. Ugh. I gave up and left.

I bought my wedding dress from Images and have had a pretty mixed, ultimately disappointing experience. When I first purchased my dress, I thought that Pat, the sales lady, was super nice and helpful, and she even sent me a little note telling me to let her know if I had any questions and that she was so excited to see me in my dress when I came in for a fitting. Well, I did go in for a fitting, and at that time, I was treated pretty poorly. Pat wouldn’t even make eye contact with me, let alone smile or say hello, which was both confusing and frustrating, given the amount of money we spent and how sweet she was at the outset. The other sales ladies were also quite rude. They were cold, lazy, and not upfront with me when the seamstress was not ready to go at the beginning of our appointment time. Then when my appointment began to run about ten minutes over(despite the fact that the seamstress was running about twenty minutes late from a prior appointment), they treated the seamstress, me, and my family very rudely. They interrupted the seamstress right in front of us to tell her(and, EXTREMELY passive aggressively, US), that they need me «out of the dress and out of the room» because they had another appointment coming in. When I told her we had an appointment, and tried to explain the fact that the alterations being done were very complicated and extensive(something I guess they were not informed of ahead of time, despite the number of conversations I had about them with Connie, the owner), I was given a litany of excuses about how they«run on a schedule» and«don’t usually do alterations in-store.» I guess what they failed to realize was that these things are not my problem. I mean, who do you think you are? Kleinfeld’s? When my mother then confronted the sales lady(in private) about her rude and unprofessional behavior, we DID receive an apology and later a phone call, though I must say it was too little too late. I was going to purchase a veil through Images and perhaps a belt or another hair piece, but I’ve already taken my business elsewhere. I am EXTREMELY happy with the seamstress, though Images contracts out their alterations to independent seamstresses, and because of that, they don’t receive any commission off the alterations – this may explain why they were so rude to the amazing dressmaker doing my alterations, and why they don’t like to do alterations«in-store»(despite advertising in-house alterations on their website). Needless to say, we held all of our fittings at the seamstress’s house from then on. It added another 20 minutes to the drive, but it was worth it. I thought the women at Images were, in the end, rude, arrogant, and, instead of focused on the customer, too focused on the cash, and the moment the sale ended, they lost all interest in my happiness. I still can’t believe how rudely I was ignored, despite the sweet note I received after purchasing the dress. Pretty disingenuous, and enough to make me regret giving them my business at all. Luckily, the seamstress is fabulous, despite being disrespected by the Images staff, and I would recommend her all day long. The dress was also beautiful. I would not, however, recommend you take your business to Images, and I won’t recommend them to anyone until they learn to respect their customers throughout the ENTIRE process of purchase and alterations, and also learn that a business relationship does not end the moment money exchanges hands. Disappointing, to say the least.

Should have 0 stars. Very very disappointed. I made an appointment because on their website it says they are recommended. I was not greeted when I arrived for my apt. I explained this was my first time ever looking at dresses. The first question out of the consultants mouth was what’s your budget? I showed her some ideas of what I was kind of looking for and she said nope we don’t have anything like that here. There were no dresses remotely close to my size, granted i am plus size but It does say on website large selection of plus size dresses… after we left I was informed by my mother and future mother in law that the consultant made a comment to them twice stating that«this isn’t going well» while I was waiting for her to pick more dresses. I left feeling like complete crap and degraded. My best friends sister had a great experience here-wish I would have had the same experience. But I’m assuming because I’m plus size not many people have time for people like me. Would never recommend this store to anyone.

I took me 7 months to find a dress for my wedding Oct 2014. Most places I tried were not very personable. I have very sensitive skin and most lace and tulle causes my skin to turn red. Lisa, the woman who helped me at Images, saw this and did her best to help out. When I saw a Maggie Sottero dress in a catalog, they were able to get a sample to the store for me to try on. It wound up being THE dress. Later on when my groomsmen went in for tuxes, they were treated very well also. I would recommend Images to any woman looking for a wedding dress.

I decided to use Images for my bridesmaids dresses, as I wanted to give a local vendor business. Most of my bridesmaids did not live in Racine. In turn, they decided to go with their own seamstresses for alterations. After we told the staff at Images we would not be in need of their full service, we were met with dismissive attitudes and very poor service. One of my bridesmaids was told to hurry up as they were closing in 20 minutes while trying on her dress. This would not have been so frustrating if that particular bridesmaid hadn’t broken both of her wrists and needed help trying on her dress. When my girls went to pick up their dresses, they were made to wait for extended periods of time, while other employees cleaned glass and took other customers ahead of them, that came in after. When one of my bridesmaids came in to pick up her dress, she was told they didn’t have it. After checking under 3 different names, they found the dress and gave it to her in the shipping box. This service was a disappointment, and could have been made so much better if the staff working at the shop showed a little more empathy and excitement for their patrons.

Went here to scope out their wedding dresses. The store is small but the employee, Lisa, was sweet and of help. Their plus-size selection was scarce, but I tried on three different dresses of varying styles. Their prices are higher than what I’ve seen in other stores, and based on their selection, I won’t be back.
