McDonald’s

Restaurant week has started here in Charleston, and in honor of that I asked my kids which restaurant they wanted to go to. I even gave them a choice of Crave for the amazing mac n cheese, but they decided that McD’s was their restaurant of choice and that this would be how we kick off the festivities.
The nice thing at McD’s is that when you there, you know what to expect, and they’re pretty consistent on taste. Since we went through the drive-​through, I don’t have al lot to say about the service aside from pulling up, paying, and receiving my food in an orderly fashion. The McRib is back, and normally this would appeal to me, but the double cheeseburger was calling my name. My son ordered off of the adult menu and got a 10 piece nugget meal, which was gone before we got back on 17. My daughter changed her mind mid-​order, and wanted Chic-​Fil-​A, so we went there next. Never a dull moment in the fast food world when you have kids.

do I feel dumb reviewing a McDonald’s? yep. but this one is especially under par. every time I go the ice cream machine is mysteriously «broken» (I get that it takes a long time to clean and/​or the night crew doesn’t wanna do it, but just say you don’t serve ice cream after 9pmish, don’t lie to me!) and the food is always a little worse than most McDonald’s. I’ve never been inside but it looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 90s. I really wish there was a better one on Hwy 17, because the only others I know of are way North.

I know this is a McDonald’s but come on, shouldn’t take a 40 min wait for food. Didn’t even fill fries all the way especially when you pay for a large. They tell you a different menu when everyone knows a certain menu is available 98% of the time. Wish it was better since its right by me.

All I have to say is that the drive thru people need to tighten up. They are so rude that I don’t even want to go there anymore. The only reason for 2 stars is because their food is on par with any other McD’s.

Horrible service! I was the only person in line for 5 minutes and no one took my order. Instead, the cashier stared at the screen waiting on other orders. The food is consistent, I just felt very ignored.

It is ONLY a 4 Star Experience if… YOU go inside… Your crew is coherent.
Make them cook your 2 orders of FRIES, to order… Don’t take anything from the tray.
Take a pickle off of your 3 Double Cheeseburgers… and they will be cooked to order.
Watch them… they are lazy… Kick their ass into shape… Have a plastic cooler to insulate your fresh fries and burgers and get the heck home…

The usual, the service is often indifferent, but the price is had to beat. As a senior I go to get senior pricing and usually end up buying a few items, but it surely doesn’t make you leave feeling like you had a great dining expereience. There are good McDonalds, such as one or two in Carey, NC that are even eco friendly, and upscaled designs the one up the road at the new WalMart in North Mount Pleasant is nicer.
