The PHO!!! Oh my lord I cant get past it. I want to try everything on the menu but the London Broil is the only thing I ever get because it’s that good. Definitely the best Phở Ive had in Charleston. I managed to try the dumplings as a warm up to my Phở and they were also extremely tasty. The sauce they have with the dumplings is some of the best Ive had. Geez I am so happy I found a solid Phở place in Charleston. If you are looking for excellent Phở in the Mt Pleasant area then look no further, Mi Xao is the only name you need to know. The prices are also very economical and the service is top notch.

Forgot my wallet at home when I went to pick up my takeout order. The man who rang me up offered to let me take my food home, eat it and come back to pay later! I thought this was such a nice gesture. ended up finding a cc in my car so didn’t have to do that, but it was so nice of him to offer that. Had the spring rolls, pork dumplings, and london broil phở. Spring rolls & phở were DELICIOUS! The beef broth was so fresh and flavorful, meat was thin and tender. The dumplings were good, but nothing to rave about in my opinion. Will be back when we’re in town again!

The past week I have been stalking Unilocal for Vietnamese cuisine. I didnt not even know there was a quick Vietnamese place in Mount Pleasant. I have lived in Mount P. for years, and rarely venture near/past Hwy. 41. Ive convinced myself that since the Hwy. 41 area has turned into a near whole separate town,(isnt it called North Mount Pleasant now??) that the 6 or so minutes it takes to get there is sooo faaarrrr. So I’ve checked this place out twice now. To go and dine in. I file this place away as one of the places to go to eat some good, quick, affordable food. First time I went for togo, and the guys behind the counter provided minimal interaction. It was prepared crazy quick. I placed my order, went out to my car, got my phone, came right back in, pulled out a chair and before my butt hit the chair, my food was handed to me. lol that quick. I was sick all last week, and was seriously needing something hot to soothe my sore throat and wicked cough. Ordered the Phở Ga. Got it home and the portions were plentiful. The shredded chicken was pretty bland, but the ginger chicken broth cancelled that blandness right out. The ginger with the saltiness of the chicken broth was pretty satisfying. Now my dine in visit was really memorable – for the food anyway. Again, the guys behind the counter are just the guys behind the counter, but this time I ordered the Tom Yum Kung. Omg. It was delicious. It was spicy, and ginger-y(ya know what I mean). The broth was phenomenal. It was again very plentiful. The shrimp actually tasted like shrimp and not fish, and there was plenty of it. Its good to have places like this on your bucket list. Places that you can go where you know you will get a good quick meal, for a decent price at those times when all you want is a good quick meal at a decent price. The ol’ reliable’s. Im looking into the future, and I definitely see Tom Yum Kung in it.

You know how your GPS maps have little icons for upcoming locations, like gas stations, shopping, and coffee? Well my own mental map displays a picture of the Pork Noodle Salad whenever I’m within a 3-mile radius of this area. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the only menu item.(Though, admittedly, all the other dishes I see coming from the kitchen look just as delectable.) Cold noodles and greens, topped with hot Vietnamese-spiced pork, crunchy bits of flavor, and fresh herbs. The tangy-crisp side dressing pulls it all together to make a relatively light and savory meal. Service is always friendly and fast. Authentic kitchen staff(who may actually be the owner). An absolute must whenever you’re in North Mt. Pleasant.

Ordered many time, finally decided to write up 4 stars review for them, haven’t got a bad experience yet since first time ordered food from them on last year September 2014. Consistently serving great quality. BTW their fried spring roll are pretty good, sauce paired with might taste salty, but that’s what makes really good !!!

Service was super quick! My meal was actually too spicy for me to finish, but BF enjoyed the london broil phở. I would definitely suggest this place to someone who wants their phở craving satisfied.

A great find for me having starting working in Mount Pleasant, coming from North Charleston. Their Ginger beef Phở is tasty! The broth is distinct from the Phở places in North Charleston. This comes with the obligatory Phở sides. Thursdays they do Bahn Mi combos, which are on point for the price point. My only complaint is that I like more toppings on my Bahn Mi.

This place hit the spot for my phở fix, but I’m hoping to find somewhere closer to Hanahan! That being said, I’d go back here on my way to Georgetown/Myrtle Beach, as it’s right on 41 off of 17, and worth the stop. I chose steamed dumplings for the group I ate with and the London Broil phở for my entrée. Both were great! The meat was cooked perfectly in the phở, which was a big YAY in my book because you never know how it can go at a new Vietnamese place. These folks must do a ton of take-out and rightfully so, the menu is worth perusing. I’m going back for the chicken soup, which had a delicious curried chicken broth that I’m betting they can spice up for me. I also want to try the pancit and the Banh Mi sandwiches. Busy area so be cautious!

If you are at all into Vietnamese food you need to find this place. I had the London Broil soup and it was outstanding! I’m no expert in this category of food but the spices were so authentic. I knew it was going to be lagit when I walked in and the 2 cooks didn’t speak English with a young kid running the counter. Nice added touch was the Lynard Skynard playing in the background, Lol! I will b back for sure.

This is my favorite phở if I don’t feel like driving down town to CO. I always get the phở bo(London broil phở), which is absolutely stellar. My husband and I always get a couple coconut waters to drink, as well. We’ve ordered their spring rolls and they’re decent. We like the summer rolls much better. They also have a wide variety of options on the menu, in case you don’t like phở(though if you don’t like phở, I don’t know about you). If you go, you have to try putting all of the toppings in your phở — basil, cilantro, lime, hoisin, sriracha, bean sprouts, and sliced jalapeño. I always add a ton of extra sriracha because I have a very spicy-loving palate. The staff is always kind and quick with your order. Overall, this is definitely a favorite of mine.

This place is the shiz! But seriously. This is probably the best knock off Phở place in Mt. P… The Phở is almost representative but something is missing. It’s a decent replacement for the real thing if your jonesing or in a pinch for Vietnamese food. Overall not disappointing, but I probably would only go here if I was in the area, hungry, and sick and tired of shrimp and grits…

Who da’ thunk you’d find real Vietnamese in the Charleston, South Carolina ‘burbs? This is an authentic little Vietnamese lunch spot a mile or so away from the big nearby Boone plantation. Try the nice lemon grass chicken and the spring rolls. And please be sure to chat up that very friendly host too.

Have tried a variety of items off of the menu and have enjoyed all of it. Stir fries, noodle bowls, salads, and my personal favorite, the Banh Mi sandwich they have on Thursdays. The ingredients are fresh and everything is cooked to order. The staff is friendly and the owner is always around and offers a smile and a wave. Seating is limited and getting to it is a little difficult with the traffic at this location but it is worth the effort.

Let me preface this by saying that I’m Vietnamese and grew up in a large metropolitan area(i.e., I’m picky because the bar was set high from a very early age). Mi Xao is definitely on my list of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Chucktown. I rated it 3 out of 5 stars for the reasons below. Goi Cuon: Missing pork belly, but the Tuong(peanut dipping sauce) wasn’t bad. Not too sweet. Some people like to include green onions as well, though I’m partial to it being done without them so I didn’t miss it. The ingredients seemed fresh. Bun Thit Nuong: The meat was flavorful and cooked well, though it would benefit from a charcoal grill(just personal taste). The presentation and sauce were awful though. It’s a noodle dish that should be presented in a bowl, with the layer of lettuce, herbs, sprouts, at the bottom, then the rice noodles, then the meat and topped with whatever final touches you like(fried onions, peanuts, etc.). It’s a dish that you douse with Nuoc Mam so you need a bowl to contain all that sauce. Mi Xao presents the dish on a plate. Very hard to eat with chop sticks. To make matters worse, they use imitation lime juice(!!!) in their Nuoc Mam. I would rather they have used regular white vinegar than to have tasted the imitation juice. Not good. There is a competitor in Charleston that does this dish better. Bo Luc Lac: The flavor profile on this was good and the meat was well cooked(not rubbery). The dish would have benefited from rice being served on the side though. The dish was served with a fair amount of sauce and we were left with soggy, over salted rice at the end. Mi Xao with egg noodles and chicken: ICYWW, Mi Xao is traditionally done with egg noodles. This dish was also okay. It would have benefited from a little more time on the noodles(tip: after they’re done cooking, toss in sesame oil — they soak up the flavor and it makes them UBER delicious without all that greasiness) and a little more flavor on the accompaniments. The chicken was a little lack luster. I’m being a little picky here though. Considering this is a place where I can get my order in about 15 minutes, I’m happy to deal with the small issues. My main problem is the Nuoc Mam. That’s easily resolved with some fresher ingredients. I’ll be back for quick Asian take out.

I normally don’t like to take phở home. As a matter of fact I really hate having to do so. However, it was my family’s last night in SC after spending a week together at the beach and we wanted Vietnamese food. After looking at several different places on here, we decided that it would be best to order from here. We wanted to eat there but since we needed to have the beach house cleaned up, suitcases packed and all of the children ready for travel we opted to do a large take out order. The family ordered spring rolls, summer rolls, phở(chicken and beef), several noodle dishes and salads. The summer rolls were great and wrapped perfectly. The spring rolls were crispy and a sure hit. Phở was great. Even though it wasn’t the way I like to eat it which is at the restaurant itself, it was still great. Broth was flavorful without being over powering with star anise or salt. The beef slices weren’t too tough and were cut thinly. The salads were fresh looking with vibrant colors and firm shrimp, the way it is suppose to look and taste. I would have loved to eat there but due to the lack of time it wasn’t possible. If you like Vietnamese food and or looking for something to try, give this place a try. Thanks for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal experience and opinion.

I had the pleasure of trying this for first time today. I popped in for a quick lunch with a friend. You can smell how savory this place is just walking up to the front door. I had the London Broil phở and it was on point! First of all, my order was ready in all of 3 minutes, making this a must try even for a quick lunch break. The broth was bursting with flavor, noodles cooked to perfection, and tender beef, with veggies on side to add to your liking. The owner was so kind and immediately asked if it was my first visit. He came and checked on us when the food came out, and made sure we were still good as we were finishing our dishes. He obviously took great pride in his cooking and wanted to be sure our visit was amazing. I can’t wait to return and try more! Go and enjoy ASAP!

Are you looking for some good mo phoing soup? Mi Xao has some of the best mo phoing soup you’ll find in the low county! We dropped by for the first time the other night and grabbed some Phở on the go. Wok In, Wok Out is very appropriate for Mi Xao as they serve up their Phở with speed; as well as accuracy. We were in, ordered, and had our order in no time flat. I ordered the London Broil and my wife got the Wonton Phở. We were really surprised when they presented us 2 giant bags full of soup, they don’t skimp at all; we could have shared one order. When we got home and opened our containers of phở the sheer essence of the aroma was enough to make us salivate like Pavlov’s dog. After assembling our phở soups we were delighted by the taste. The London Broil was just right; with hints of spiciness that awakened the senses. The Wonton Soup was perfect; and probably had some of the best wonton noodles around in it. Overall we were very pleased to have a place like Mi Xao in our new neighborhood and look forward to frequenting it more often.
