Definitely a fan. But dang, I might have been the oldest diner at [Sunday] brunch. Everyone is young and thin and beautiful. And that’s just the guys! The girls are cute too. Well, we old, fat, ugly people get hungry too. I chose the quail and venison sausage dish. Yum! I loved it.(Quail hunting was big when I was little.) The wait-person for our table was young and thin(what else?) and really good. She was attentive and helpful in answering questions. This place is especially recommended if you are young – 23 to 32 – and hip. If you’re old and ugly, go there anyway! It is a great restaurant.

This place is the best. They have great food and excellent service. I love the salads, chicken dish, enchiladas and my fiancé loves the steak. Also a good spot for brunch!

First time in Charleston and we came out to Mt. Pleasant to go to the Red Drum. It was incredible! I had the fork and knife tacos which I highly suggest. The mimosas were great too, not too sweet or too heavy on the OJ which I liked. Great service too.

We had a lovely brunch for 20 members of our family this morning. Everyone loved their food, and we were pleased that when we asked if they offered any vegan dishes, they whipped up something delicious for us.

Went there for dinner with 3 friends. We all loved everything we got. The food was delicious, service good, and nice atmosphere — very welcoming and not stuffy at all.

I don’t normally like ceviche, but I’m delighted with appetizer my date and I shared. It was on special and locally caught. Impressed, we split a Mahi entrée as well. Thankfully, they split the plate for us, as I’m sure he would have eaten my half! It was awesome, and I highly recommend their specials as well as half priced wine night. Oh! And dessert. Omg, dessert.

This is most definitely one of my favorite places. Every single dish I’ve ever had is 5 star. I just don’t know why a place of this caliber is serving FARMRAISEDSALMON.

Good food. A little on the expensive side and the beer was a little over priced. Very good quality food. I would go back again.

I came for brunch and had the Steak & Eggs that came with Texas toast and home fries. I was comfortably full and satisfied with the portion size. The steak was made just right and had lots of flavor. They also have a bottomless mimosa deal that you can’t beat! I will definitely be back!

Red Drum never ever disappoints us! We had such a fabulous time celebrating my daughter’s college graduation. Charlie is so accommodating to our ever need. Thank you for a wonderful evening and our service and food were outstanding.

I really wanted to like this place. Made reservations for brunch which was smart cuz this place was packed. We were treated quickly and the staff was very pleasant and friendly even though part of our party was a little late. Now this place is LOUD. REALLYLOUD. Uncomfortably loud. There were screaming children that sat behind us and when they left I could hear conversations from every table in the main dining area. Wow! Now the food. The biscuits were huge. The butter and honey-marmalade was tasty. The biscuits looked great but hey were dry. I had the Eggs Benedict had a huge slice of bread as its base. The eggs were poached beautifully. The hollandaise was tasty. That huge slice of bead though. It was so out of proportion that I didn’t even eat the other half of my Benny. The other I came with said the Shrimp and Grits were on point with large prawn-like shrimps. I did taste the dish. Unfortunately, my shrimp still has its shell on it which I really dislike. The andouille sauce was a little spicy. Tasty but a little spicy for my taste. My other had the Steak and Eggs which she raved about how perfectly well done the steak was cooked to order. My mother-in-law had a specially made omelette that was not on the menu. They accommodate her request without batting an eye. Now everything other than the breads(biscuit and base on benedict) was delicious. I could tell they like the large slice of bread because I saw some poor little girl at the neighboring table having to try to swallow the French Toast she was served that had the same slice of bread.

Brunch Review If you decide to come to Red Drum and can’t figure out what to get, don’t worry. Just order biscuits. That’s all you need. Your life will be forever changed after eating the biscuits which are HUGE and fluffy and with a hint of butter flavor remind me of my Granny’s homemade biscuits and are the ultimate mouthgasm. I’ve been here twice now. The first time, we were lucky and were able to get one of the last 2 top tables available without a reservation. This past time, I made a reservation with OpenTable(awesome option), which was perfect since it was pretty busy when we arrived. I ordered huevos rancheros and when they arrived I had to send them back because there was just too much runny white stuff in my eggs. This was probably the first time ever I’ve sent something back to the kitchen. When the order came back out, there was still runny white stuff in the eggs, but rather than send something back a 2nd time, I just dealt with it. The server suggested that maybe I order my eggs over hard next time and I just let it go. I wanted a runny yolk and no runny white, that should be standard with over easy, but I usually go with over medium just to be sure. Nonetheless, the server had my meal comped from the bill. Also, if you’re heat/spicy sensitive, the huevos rancheros are a bit spicy. This only became an issue when I ran out of beverage. BF had the biscuits and waffles with hashbrowns and he cleaned his plate. Maybe it was just an off day for the cook and server? I’d definitely go back for the biscuits though.

This review is just on their brunch. When I lived in Charleston, I would go out of my way and drive here to eat their biscuits. They have the best biscuits I’ve ever had!!! They are buttery and light, crisp on the outside. The biscuits always came with some fresh jam of whatever fruit the chef decided on. I always ordered the quail and venison sausage. Its yummy and comes with sweet chili sauce. The grilled chicken with tortillas was good. My husband also liked the Migas Chorizo. Their grits were the best I had in Charleston. They were flavorful and were always hot because it was served in a mini cast iron skillet. The donuts are also delicious! If you want to come here for brunch on a Sunday, make a reservation. Sunday brunch is very busy. It’s not as busy on Saturdays. There is a private parking lot but it fills up quickly when it’s busy and off street parking is available. This is a casual dining experience.

I am almost reluctant to tell you how much we love this place because we don’t like loud overly busy restaurants but this establishment is so exceptional they deserve all the accolades we can offer. The staff are engaging and truly dedicated to delivering a wonderful dining experience. We are new to the area and were celebrating our anniversary. We didn’t tell them but they heard us mention it and went out of their way to make it special. To top it off our wonderful waiter hand write a list of «must try» restaurants in Charleston for us. We make a point of going here regularly because we want to support them. They are always busy so maybe they don’t need us but we are devoted to them!

Salad on the dry side. Ran out of chosen desert so had to substitute. Service slow. Flies around the outside tables. Spent $ 77+tip. Value IMO $ 50+tip.

Came here for dinner tonight. First time. Difficult to find from the street but we did. Private parking lot. Sunday night busy. We had a reservation & chose from the Charleston Restaurant Week Menu which was $ 35.00 for a three course. Fantastic value as I crossed check the individual meal prices with the regular menu. The waiter was great helping us to decide on specific dishes. He was not wrong. The food was outstanding. I had a shrimp cocktail as appetizer. It reminded me of Ceviche. Fresh & delicious. Then I had the grilled salmon. Fab. Cooked to perfection & chocolate ganache cake. Yum. The selection of individual wine by the glass was great. Overall a great night out & highly recommended

Great brunch! Great dinner menu! I enjoyed the huevos rancheros with eggs so over easy that they had just gotten laid! Ok that’s a bad egg joke. But delicious huevos! The service is always amazing. In all honesty, I always sit at the bar. The bartenders really take care… keeping the bottomless bilinis flowing on Sundays. The Bloody Mary, though made with zing zang, despite the availability of delicious charleston-made bloody Mary mix such as Fat and Juicy and Charleston Bloody Mary Mix, was spicy and potent. I just would appreciate a pickled vegetable garnish of some kind. Other occasions when we’ve had cocktails, appetizers or the nightly fish special, everything I’ve tried has been delicious… though maybe slightly small portions for the price per plate. Make a reservation if you are brunching with a large group, Sunday is no day to hope for a free table around the time the churches let out. Great service, solid food and a menu with variety. And valet parking! One of my favorites!

Red Drum is one of my favorite places to head after church on Sundays for brunch. Their menu is Southern meets Tex-Mex, with options like Shrimp & Grits, Huevos Rancheros and my personal favorite– the Fried Chicken & Biscuits smothered in creamy gravy. Their portions are large and satisfying, especially when paired with one of their many side items like their Chile Cheddar Grit Skillet, Chorizo or really awesome Hash Browns. If you are looking for a light, more healthy brunch, Red Drum don’t have many options for you except two salads and a broth-based Tortilla Soup. But Sundays are mean’t for indulging right? I also love their $ 6 spicy bloody mary or mimosa, which come bottomless for $ 11. Best option for Brunch in Mount Pleasant right here! Must-order items: Red Voodoo Bloody Mary Huevos Rancheros Fried Chicken & Biscuits

Red Drum does an amazing brunch. If I lived in Charleston, I would definitely be a Sunday regular. We called ahead and made a reservation, which was definitely a good thing because this place is happening. Sadly the patio was full and we were seated inside, so I inadvertently got absolutely no tan while I was at the beach. I can’t blame them for being so popular, but I will say their patio looked large, inviting, and glorious. We were immediately seated and greeted by a friendly server. Everyone at my table but me ordered the $ 11 bottomless mimosas or bellinis. I ordered a Diet Coke. Damn you five hour drive back to Atlanta. I did try a sip of both, and they were each the perfect mix of champagne with just a splash of orange juice and peach purée respectively. The server kept everyone’s glasses full throughout the course of brunch. I ordered the steak and eggs and it certainly did not disappoint. It was a huge helping of skirt steak, 2 eggs over easy, grits, and a biscuit. The steak, with a pat of garlic butter, was flavorful and a good cut. The eggs over easy were great, although that’s pretty hard to mess up. The biscuit was light and fluffy. I found the grits to be a little on the mediocre side, but everything else made up for them. It was so much food that I couldn’t finish it all and actually never had dinner. Now that’s a good bang for your buck. Basically it was like Waffle House portions, except really, really good food and obviously a higher price. Everyone else I brunched with was a Red Drum seasoned veteran and enjoyed their meals as well. The brunch was absolutely fantastic, and I would love to try lunch, dinner, and drinks the next time I’m back in the area. Really everything about the whole experience was great and I already can’t wait to come back.

I hadn’t been to Red Drum for a couple years until just last week. In the past, I had popped in for drinks on a random night or came in for brunch. This past Sunday we were looking for a good brunch spot and a friend reminded me of Red Drum. I suggested we call first because the last time I was there for Brunch it was a mad house(again this was years ago). I was surprised to hear there was no wait and when we arrived we were seated immediately. Not sure if it was a fluke but there were plenty of tables to be had for a beautiful Sunday at prime brunch time. Our server knew the menu well and answered any questions we had making recommendations based off of what we were looking for. I started with a much needed Bloody Mary. It could have used some more garnish than a lime wedge and an olive but it did the job. A few of us had the Fried Chicken Biscuit and everyone who did had a clean plate afterwards. It’s served open face with a biscuit cut in half, gravy over that, then a plump and juicy piece of fried chicken on top of each. No picking up this biscuit with your hands. Normally when I have hashbrowns on the side, I order them well done because I hate when they’re all wimpy and wet. If you agree, you’ll love the hashbrowns here and you can order them sans the extra cooking time. Easily some of the best hashbrowns I’ve had around. I would even recommend they capitalize on how amazing these little potato patties are by topping them, a la Waffle House, with your choice of cheese, peppers, or any other concoction. I would literally place multiple orders. Maybe a loaded potato one with bacon, cheese, sour cream, and chives or a Southwest one with beans, salsa, cheese, and cilantro… AMIRIGHT! Not sure where the crowds went but, I was down with the no-wait-time. Better get over there soon ’cause once they start this whole hashbrown idea I just passed along, there will be a line down the street again… guaranteed! Disclaimer: I can’t actually guarantee lines down the street but that would be pretty cool huh Red Drum?
