Superbowl Sunday and I stopped in to pick up 24 wings, packed to-go. When I got home and started to put the spread out, they were the scrawniest wings I’ve ever seen especially from a Pub named«Buffalo»! There were. 2 containers of hot sauce, no celery, ranch or Blue cheese! I called right away and was dismissedly told that was extra. No apology or care what so ever! One would think that if that was the case and it was an up sell that it would of been mentioned! Either way, we will never be back nor recommend!

In town on business. This is the first place I ate while in town. French dip sandwich was amazing. Great selection of beers on tap. The reason I can’t rate higher is because the fried fish I had on my second night(yeah, I went back thinking other food would be as good as the first time) was disgusting. This place is two-three miles from the Atlantic Ocean and can’t serve decent fish? Really? Stay away from the seafood and it’s pretty decent bar/pub food. I’ll be back while I’m here(2 minute walk from my hotel), but I sure as heck won’t order any seafood. YOURERIGHTNEXTTOTHEFREAKINGOCEAN!!! HOWFOYOUNOTOFFERDECENTSEAFOOD?

Make sure you check your bill!!! Came in for BOGO wings and me and my friends bills were wrong. Also happy hour drinks not charged properly. My friend ha da certificate and they wouldn’t take that either. Instead of trying to figure out the issues we got major attitude and tossing bill holders around. I have a few coupons for here. I won’t be using them. It’s one thing to make a mistake it’s yet another to have an attitude about fixing it!!!

We went with a coupon — which we presented upfront and were told it would be valid. When we received our bill not only were we told the coupon was no good but they failed to discount an order of wings and happy hour beers. It took 45 minutes to get the tab straight and the waitress had an attitude. Although the wings are good– not sure I will be returning. This is the third time I have been overcharged. If you visit this establishment — CHECKYOURTAB!!!

Yuck. This place smells like smoke. Not appetizing. The fries are soggy, and the food presentation is not appealing. I give it two stars instead of one only because the servers are friendly, the location is desirable, and it doesn’t pretend to be what it isn’t– It’s bar food. Just doesn’t compare to the quality of restaurants in its direct vicinity. Spend just a couple bucks more and go to one of the other(awesome) restaurants in Seaside Farms!

What a dump! Went back last Sunday to watch the NFL games and get wings. Its the only pub in the neighborhood. What a disappointment. Half of the kegs were empty! I mean they invest in the NFL package but forget to order beer! The owners really don’t care any more and are just milking the place. So if you don’t care about half way decent food, half way decent service or a half way clean place to eat, then Calders is your spot. Its pretty cheap but its a dump. But when you’re the only game in the neighborhood, I guess you can act as these owners do and not care and count your money on Monday morning. I honestly wish they would sell the place to somebody who would do something at least half way decent with the place. Lots of potential but the owners worst than Al Davis.

It’s unfortunate that there have been so many negative reviews about this place. I think most people are neglecting to remember that this is a PUB, first and foremost. The food is actually good, and I consider them to have the BESTWINGSINTOWN. They’re a little pricier, but it’s not a wing joint… So expecting discounts or deals is unreasonable. And as for the person giving them 1 star for the sole purpose that it’s a local restaurant that doesn’t have local beers on tap… That’s ridiculous. Do you expect every restaurant in you vicinity to have all local products? It’s a family-friendly pub with cold beer, good food, and sports always on the TV. I’ll admit that the service could be better, and that’s the only reason I’m knocking a star off.

I have eaten at Calder’s many times over the years. They actually have decent food. This was the first time I had been back in several years. Last night, we showed up and asked if we could eat outside. We were told that we could. Our party of 8 sat down. The waiter then came outside and said that he wanted us to come inside to eat because it would be «too much work to serve us outside because he would have to carry the food through too many doors. He also berated us for moving the tables so our party could sit together.» We told him kindly since we were going to cause too much work that we would leave. We took our party of 8 to Poe’s and had a great meal.

If you consider yourself a local establishment and do not feature a single local beer on draft then we LOCALS should not support you. The traffic on the IOP connector will soon subside, the tourists back home and what will keep you going? Maybe you make enough in the summer to carry you over. Imagine if you could offer a couple decent beers with food and atmosphere? You’d be able to give your beer neighbor a run for the same customers but with a better package. Rebel is NOT an IPA and that other miserable offering from Red Hook is worse. Get the Coast IPA and I’ll never leave, with football season quickly approaching. Support local Brew and the locals will support you.

Need to kill time or get away from your usual spot? Well this can surely be the place for you. Came here Saturday afternoon with a buddy. We sat at the bar, grabbed drinks and a chicken quesadilla. The bartender was friendly and attentive. The quesadilla could have used more cheese. Other than that, we just sat and chatted with all the random patrons that were belly up to the bar for a while. Turned out to be a great night and hung out with a guy we met there for the rest of the evening. Love when that happens. All in all, if you want a quick beer or bite to eat, pop on in here and do your thing. Other then that, there are way too many other places to hang out at and enjoy to hang around here all afternoon.

See photo section for the($ 9.99) buffalo chicken sandwich without cheese. Apparently it doesn’t come with lettuce or tomato either. Needless to say I’ve had better from fast food joints. I’d suggest sticking with the wings but even so, my husband got 12 drums, not a single wingette. They were a buck a piece and on the smaller side. In short this place is overpriced and underwhelming.

I’ve always wanted to like this place – the food isn’t terrible but not great – but always leave dissatisfied or shrugging my shoulders. The wait staff is about as disinterested as it gets. The menu is huge – which in this case is not a plus. They do a lot of food ok but nothing well. The prices are decent at least. It could benefit from a paring down of the menu to focus on a handful of things to do well. I think it’s benefitted from its proximity to the IOP beach/tourist traffic more than anything. There are better places to eat, even in that shopping center now.

Worst place ever!!! The bartenders don’t know their own specials. They are extremely rude! They over charged us on «specials» and fixed it by walking away and ignoring us. I learned the girl bartenders whole life story as she told two regulars way to many details of her personal life wmade for an awkward experience and we weren’t even sitting near them they were on the opposite side of the bar… The regulars made it very clear we were not welcome by making remarks about the kitchen closing at 7(it was 530) and how rude people were for being in there. Well the bartender can thank her friends for her zero tip and a non returning customer. It’s kinda sad cause we live within walking distance but refuse to go back! DONTEATTHERE

Fries were very good, onion rings were great. Wings, just ok. Way too small and over cooked. I don’t like chicken jerky. I want a juicy done wing. Here they are dry and overcooked. Sorry. I will come back and try a burger soon. Hopefully they will be good.

The place is ok, but would be a lot better if they turned down the lights in the bar area after the dinner crowd leaves. Also, it would really help the ambiance if the didn’t play the radio, but played pandora or some sort of commercial music program.

Stay away. The food is average and the staff are too busy with their personal life to worry about waiting on you. Sat at the bar for almost 10 minutes and then had to get up and go ask the bar tender for beer. Proceeded to order food and it was more of the same. This is the 3rd time I’ve been here and I’m impressed the place is still open. It’s convenient but I won’t be back. I don’t think the owner cares about service as it’s always empty inside. Reminds me of a bar rescue episode waiting to happen.

I really like this little neighborhood pub. The staff is always friendly, and the food is consistently ok. The prices won’t scare the Hell outta your wallet either. They have a decent beer selection on tap, and a full bar of liquid libations. I’ve eaten many lunches at Calder’s. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I have never had a bad experience with the service or the food. Perhaps being an «old regular» gives me some advantages??? I’m just not sure… BUT: I love their burgers, wraps, and salads, and their wings are the star of the show. Yes you can get bigger wings elsewhere, but Calder’s wings are a consistently good quality. Mondays they even have a great wing special going on. They do live music on the weekends, and the evening crowd is quite boisterous. Even though I do bring my Wee One along for lunch and perhaps the occasional early supper, I do keep in mind that after about 8:00pm Calder’s is strictly for the grown-ups.

This pub ranks up there on my list of Pubs that we’ve gone to, lunch time was hot, and made to order. We will be back, food was delicious and I can’t wait to come back in the evening for wings and a cold one.

The reviews here are pretty mixed and it had been quite a while since I had been in. I think the only other time was years ago because I had a groupon or something. Ended up getting wings and they were decent but I remember the service being pretty shoddy. I happen to be next door having beers with a couple friends at the Crafty Draft place. Afterwards, we came over to grab a sandwich at Calder’s. We sat at the bar and the bartender served us there. He was nice enough and took care of whatever we needed. The draught beer was not up cooled to the right temp. It was almost warm. Other than that, I had a French Dip which my buddy said was pretty good. The meat was more like a steak and cheese but it did taste good. Think steak and cheese with aus jus. I’ll put aus jus on pretty much anything so I was happy. The fries were pretty good too. Nothing special about this place. Bar food, wings, and beer. Not as bad as some people have said for sure.
