Ok I love this place the staff is fantastic! The food is great and best of all for us locals you feel like you are family. They have a mixed crowd from young to old to locals and folks out of town.
They know how to do great comfort food while making you feel at home. Best of all for us folks in Park West they are a stones throw away! Lots of TVs and great personalities. I am looking forward to calling it my local neighborhood joint!

Always friendly service no matter how busy they are. Food is good, burgers are excellent. I’m not one to try new stuff, but I will get their specials on a regular basis and have never been disappointed. Good atmosphere to take hours kids.

I have never had a bad experience at this place. We eat here pretty often and also grab it to go a lot because it’s close to home. The food is always good. My daughter loves the fried pickles and kimchi tacos. I’m a fan of the balsamic chicken salad. Their sandwiches are really good. The menu has a really good variety, they have a lot of your typical bar food but with a little bit of a spin on them. The prices are very reasonable.

Food was delicious, service was excellent. Our server Mindy, was one of the best servers I have ever had at a restaurant. Very kind, patient, and knowledgable of the menu. A+

The Cheers to my Cliff! The Moe’s to my Homer, etc!!! I am so proud to call this place my neighborhood bar and that it is only a 10 minute walk from home. A great place to refuel after a run or walk! The cooks here come up with the best names for dishes I tend to think they went to culinary school. I think this is the best food of any bar I’ve been too. I enjoy playing in the football pools and beer challenges. This place serves some of the best beers on tap.

Good place for a beer and some wings. Outside is good as well. Not to be confused with original spot in Belle Hall on Long Point Rd. which is one of the best Bars in the Charleston area
Let me stand corrected.
Dog and Duck at Park West has really put its best foot forward. With the expansion of the space has now come a real emphasis on service and food quality. I have to say this is probably the best spot in this part of town. Good crowd, great service and food.

Love this place! So far I’ve received good service. Deserts are to die for! Recently prices went up on all menu items :(and happy hour appetizers used to be $ 4.00, now they only discount $ 1.00 off regular price. Still love them!

First place I encountered flies in Charleston. Tasted delicious, spent the night in bathroom. Service was excellent, thus the stars

Stopped in for quick beer and bite. Our expectations weren’t high because it had only 3 stars on Unilocal,but we loved it! Ordered happy hour and had a $ 3 house wine and a beer. Love that! Got onion rings (standard), bbq chicken quesadilla (lots of chicken — tasty) and grouper nuggets. Ok — lets talk about those little nuggets. The server said they were a new item on menu… um, if the owner is reading this — keep them ON! They melted in your mouth!!! Thinking about them today already and it’s 10am. Very kid friendly. There a were families galore. Prob too noisy for older peeps, but it was lively and cozy for us.

Okay, the place had doubled in size. The bat is much bigger and the décor is now legit for a Dog and Duck. The bartenders and waitresses are lively, funny, and sweet! I think I’ll be coming up here much more now.

We eat here often, the food is good. Most of the time we get it to go, though, because the service is deplorable! No one here cares. I came in and ordered while I waited for my family. I sat for 10 minutes waiting on 4 waters. After 12 minutes, the same guy who took my initial drink order returned and asked if he could get me anything to drink. I reminded him of our water order and he disappeared. Someone else returned and asked if we needed drinks… grrr. Seizing the moment, I told her we were ready to order, and she took our order. The beer my husband ordered sat at the bar sweating for 5 minites. I watched 2 servers and the bartender (who are usually prideful of serving good cold beverages) walk past his beer and let it sit. My husband finally got up and asked the bartender to hand it him. I’ve worked in the industry and can only assume the lack of concern and disorganization in the staff is a reflection of management. We will go back to ordering ToGo. Maybe they will and maybe they won’t remember to put the pickle on the side.

I’ve been to this dog and duck numerous times and have waited and waited to give my review. The food is excellent every time and I have yet to have something that I do not like. The reason I’m giving two stars is because the service is downright shitty. Numerous times we have come in and sat for 5 to 10 minutes before getting a waitress then got our drinks and waited 10 to 15 more minutes before they took a food order. During this time my girlfriend and I watch the waitstaff and noticed that they are quick to fill up beers and stop to talk to patrons for lengthy amounts of time, yet my water and or sweet tea can sit empty for 5 to 10 minutes. Almost every time we go we don’t get just one waitress we usually get two or even three because one will start with us and then forget about us and somebody else will come up later, usually because we need to wave somebody over. The people at the bar or the ones who seem to be locals seem to get much much better service. I guess my money isn’t as good as theirs!

Dog & Duck is not normally a place I would go for a meal. The food is unremarkable and in some cases, just bland. What bumps this place up to a 3 star from a two is the always pleasant staff and the super fun trivia nights.
The beer list is decent which makes it a fun place to grab a beer and watch a game or hang out and play trivia with your friends. So far my favorite item on the menu is their Philly Cheese Steak which was surprisingly tasty and cooked well. One issue I seem to have almost every time I go is there never seems to be enough fries. The baskets arrive with what looks like a small handful. If I’m going to a sports bar to drink beer and hang out then I want a decent amount of fries with my burger or sandwich.

This place is great! The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. The beer selection is good and the food came out quickly. It’s also decently priced.
I had the turkey burger and it was DELICIOUS. I’d definitely order it again. My boyfriend liked his burger and fries. My sweet potato fries were a little burnt but honestly that turkey burger made it all worthwhile. Would go there again!

Great beers, great food, and great prices! Our favorite is chicken fingers and fries! They have great spring rolls too, Dog and Duck is the Cheers of Park West.

I’ve been in a handful of times since they remolded. In case you weren’t aware, they recently doubled the size of this location by taking over the office next door and knocking down the wall. They also extended the size of the bar and put more taps in… more beer yay!!!
It feel so much more open in here. The feeling before was that of a hole in the wall tucked into a supermarket plaza. It now feels like a proper pub inside and you forget that there’s a Publix across the way. Since my last review, I’ve been able to branch out from the Yeti Dog. Although it’s delicious, there are plenty of other items that are just as worthy. I still love the ribs on Friday but you have to get there early for them. last time they went to go check to see if they had any left, came back and said they had one rack, my friend ordered it, then the waitress came back to let us know she was mistaken and there were no ribs. That’s how fast they go!
You can’t go wrong with the fish and chips here. It’s one of their specialty items and they do it well… plus it’s cheap! I don’t usually order chicken fingers out but the batter they use on theirs always makes me want to place an order. My most recent discovery was the steak and cheese. I hadn’t had it before but it was delicious.
The food is definitely still bar food but it’s tasty, cheap, and convenient. Now they have more bar to go with that bar food so no complaints here. Keep it up D&D!

Cod sandwich is great!

I took my old review down. I genuinely think I got them on a SINGLE bad day and it’s not fair to even talk about it considering how much fun and great service I get there now.
Let’s talk about considerate… they are acutely aware of Paxton and his baby arms going everywhere so they all know how to strategically put food on the table.
Let’s talk about tasty… if they have a special, I recommend getting it. They had these pulled pork tacos one day and MEGGY LIKEY.
Let’s talk about atmosphere… I could sit outside at those picnic tables all day.
Stoked I moved to Park West and could still have my D&D!

My hubs and I went for lunch around 12pm on wed. We had never been here and wanted to try it out as we live close by. The place was super clean altho i didnt check the bathroom out. There were a few ppl here already and our server was being «trained». I ordered the soup of the day, Clam Chowder and shrimp tacos. My hubs ordered fried cod sandwich. Both were very good, although I’m pretty sure the SHRIMP were not fresh or local. That bums me out: how outstanding for a restaurant to offer LOCAL shrimp, being we live on the coast and local fresh shrimp is readily available.
They have an outside area with umbrella shaded picnic tables for SMOKERS. They have an excellent array of delicious sounding adult drinks here. My only suggestion for the outside dining area is to add some pretty potted flowers or large containers of palms or bamboo plants to make this outside area inviting, refreshing and comfortable!
I will be back to try some of those delicious drinks:)

Great little spot for a sandwich and beer. Their grilled potato salad is a unique treat, and probably the main thing that drives me to go quite frequently for lunch. It isn’t listed on the menu that you can grill it… but do. It’s delicious.

Food is great but the service is horrible. For example, when we tried to order dessert, the waitress said «just look at the board on the wall!». She forgot to bring my daughter’s food and charged for it too. Our out of town family member said «never again». Well, we agree.
