Was treated pretty rudely by John brown. After he wanted to charge $ 40 an hour for his expert advice he then told me he didn’t know what to do with the motor I showed him. Won’t be going back to this particular store.

First, I have to admit that my DIY project skills are very, very limited, so frankly, I do not frequent a ‘hardware’ store very often; however, I was a woman on a mission. I needed a ‘work around’ to replace the cap on the top of my vintage cocktail shaker(I probably knocked it on the floor when I placed it on the kitchen counter to pour martinis … then, it rolled under my refrigerator … you get the picture) and my hunch, or, rather my hope, was that someone at Royall Ace would be able to fix me up. Right inside the entrance, I explained and showed someone at the cashier station exactly what I needed and was escorted to the Customer Service Station. As I walked towards the rear of the store, I couldn’t help but notice the well-stocked shelves and many associates on the selling floor assisting customers(contrasted to Loewe’s where I always have to search to find someone to help me). I gave the young man at Customer Service the cover to the shaker and within 3 minutes, he returned … and to my delight … my broken shaker was whole, again. Though the new cap was bronze, instead of silver, I didn’t care. I loved the high touch customer service. Who would have thought Royall Ace Hardware would save the day … and my next Happy Hour?

Great friendly staff, they carry Makita tools which is all I buy for power tools. Location is great for Mt. Pleasant! I miss going in here.

Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man! This saying goes for just about every Ace Hardware I’ve been to in the eastern US. The staff at the Ace Hardware stores are always friendly and ready to help; the same being true of Royall Ace in Mt. Pleasant. I’ve been in here a few times for a few little odds and ends; each time the staff was happy to help me find what I needed, and when they didn’t have something they pointed me to a competitor down the road. Now that’s classy. Forget the big box stores and support your locally owned hardware stores.
