As a traveler I can only give a opinion based on one visit, one waitress and one cook. That being said we had a very nice experience ordering our food to go from a helpful and cheerful waitress. We were suffering some slight hangovers and she was very nice to provide some huge glasses of water. Unfortunately the service is about where the pluses end. I opened my breakfast skillet in the car to take a couple bites before we headed off to the hotel and the entire thing was drowning in a pool of oil at the bottom. As I continued to eat, the grease and salt made it almost unbearable to finish. I hope our experience was not the usual because the diner looked to be quite popular.

This was our go to breakfast spot when we attended CMU. The only reason its a 4⁄5 is because it gets very busy for breakfast and there is often a wait. Go early to enjoy the perfect diner atmosphere with comfort food and friendly staff!

Good food but slow service. We went on Sunday morning, and there was about a 10 minute wait to be seated. However, once seated, it took almost half an hour for the food to arrive, and we ordered right away. My husband had the wet burrito and said it was good. It was stuffed with ground beef. I had a 2 stack of chocolate chip pancakes and they were huge! I ordered a side of hash browns, not salted which was great, but they were greasy. All in all, good value for the money.

Our favorite breakfast spot in town! Crazy fast service, good coffee, and delicious food. It’s a local spot so it gets packed early on peak mornings, but totally worth the wait.

After driving past this restaurant hundreds of times and seeing cars just jammed in its parking lot day and night, we decided we’d give the place a try. Our first two attempts failed because there was just no parking, but this morning we finally found a parking space and made it inside the building… and were totally underwhelmed. It’s not charming, it’s not comfortable, and our biscuits and gravy were standard food service fare. The only bright spot was our friendly and hardworking server. We could have had an outstanding scratch-made breakfast five miles up the road, or a more enjoyable retro diner experience downtown… sigh. I just don’t get the popularity of this restaurant.

Diner coffee cups, red soda cups with worn, faded Coca Cola script, feather-dusted antiques, and black and white photos of days gone by were our first indication that we were in a «good place.» The friendly staff, attentive servers and the comfortable conversation throughout The Diner reinforced that. Our only dilemma was what to order. Plates of fish sandwiches, burgers, omelets, and fried chicken tempted our palettes. We ended up with the Dogtown burgers, french fries, coffee and iced tea for 20 bucks and some change. The food was brought out quick and piping hot. We were not disappointed! We are adding The Diner to our list of «spots to stop» on our way up North. I’m so glad we stopped and can’t wait to come back to try some of their dinner specials!

Great food & great prices. Very no-nonsense — non-fancy delicious food. BESTPIE in town! Great place for Fish Fry Friday’s or breakfast. Old school… they serve BIGCOCACOLA! For what you’ll spend in fast food, get out of your comfort zone & give The Diner a go… you won’t be disappointed.

Great little Diner! Fun décor and a relaxing atmosphere. They make sure your coffee is full and warm, making a round to refill about every 5 minutes. Had a delicious Above Average homemade breakfast, with below average prices! Definitely coming back!

It will take long for them to get your order ready, BUT and this is a big BUT. It is worth it. Love their breakfast.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing! We were in town and had a group of 20 people and called ahead to warn them we were coming and Karen was willing to start snagging tables for our group. The food was fantastic and the service was over the top. It was fun seeing locals having their morning coffee and clearly enjoying their time there. It was like walking into our grandma’s kitchen — we loved it!

As diners go, this is probably the best one around here. Service is always friendly, but can be a bit slow when they’re swamped. The Biscuits & Gravy are great. Crisp breading, excellent meat, and perfect gravy. The Country Skillet is very good(was a little heavy on the onions, though). Pretty much everything is a solid choice, but the one time I got Catfish it was way soggy and gross, so there’s that. This place can get pretty busy, so you may want to be mindful of avoiding the rush hours. They recently discontinued porch service due to the inability to keep up with that many tables.

We had the pleasure of eating at The Diner during a girls weekend, and it did not disappoint! I had done some Unilocal research, looking for a place that would not be too hard on the wallet, but would be yummy. We also needed to please two picky teenagers, a vegetarian, and we were on a tight schedule! Those demands were met and exceeded at The Diner! It is a quaint restaurant with a hometown feel that chain restaurants do not give. The food was good, and the plates were very generous. The mashed potatoes are real, and really delicious. The fish fry was great, and definitely enough to share! The service was excellent, our waitress was very helpful and friendly. This place is not quite on the main strip, which can be a good thing for those that want to keep it their personal secret! But for us Unilocalers who know a good thing when we see it, we share! Oh, if it’s available: You MUST get a slice of the Peanut Butter Pie. It is AMAZING. SERIOUSLY.

The Diner is a hot spot with the locals. You can tell, because this place is always crowded. The parking lot is crowded(and awkward), the front porch is crowded, and the dining room is crowded. In fact, sometimes we drive to The Diner, see how crowded the parking lot is, and we decide to go elsewhere. I’m guessing The Diner could expand to a building and parking lot twice the size they have currently, and still keep them full. We have also driven out to The Diner to find that they are closed, at times when most other restaurants in town are open, so be sure to check the hours closely. I would love to see them expand their hours. The food is American diner food, and it’s good. I personally enjoy the Fish and Chips, and the Philly Cheese Steak. In fact, I’d say The Diner serves the best fried fish in town. The waitstaff is friendly and fast. They move through their crowded space with speed and intent. BOTTOMLINE: If you can put up with the crowd(or get lucky and find a time when the crowd is smaller), this is a friendly«greasy spoon» locals place with good food at reasonable prices.

Very good breakfast. The food was hot, fresh, and filling as well as good. The friendly staff were busy filling coffee cups and wiping counters and cupboards when they had an extra minute. Very clean, which is very important to me!
