Sunrise Dental of Mount Vernon, WA

Thank you for a great experience, given that I am skittish about going to the dentist in the first place. The staff were friendly and reassuring, and the dentist took time to get to know me and talk about the procedures. The service itself — a digital (low radiation) x-​ray, first time assessment, and standard cleaning — were done thoroughly and to full satisfaction. The dentist was very gentle and I highly recommend him to others who are nervous, or have children. At a later appointment to fill one filling, the dentist was again very gentle, and both the numbing and the filling procedure were made as comfortable as possible for me. This is much appreciated and you have won my loyalty.

I would pick 0 stars if I could. I travel for a living and have gone to many dentists. I have been to bad ones, ok ones, and had 2 great ones! This was by far my WORST dental experience ever! I was told my appointment was at 1:50p I got there at 1:45. I was given paperwork to fill out. A lot of the info was duplicate to what they had already asked me or I had given via internet. The hygienist called me back and immediately took me into a x-​ray room. I told the hygienist that I did not want x-​rays. She states «Then I don’t know if we can do anything for you. Wait here I will be back» I waited for awhile. Wishing I could just leave but in the paper work they have you sign that if you cancel your appointment in less than 48 hours they will charge you $ 85. I didn’t know if I left if I would be charged so I waited. Eventually the office manager came back. She at least asked why I didn’t want x-​rays. I was then directed back to the lobby where I waited longer while she contacted my old dentist who had just done x-ray’s 6 months prior. Eventually they took me back. The hygienist did not do the cleaning I had hoped for, for my teeth. No small talk. I felt very uncomfortable. When it came to the flossing part she did not floss under my permanent retainer. I was so shocked and upset I didn’t say anything. The doctor came in. He was nice enough. He finished the cleaning but I did not feel like the back of my teeth were cleaned well, but I just wanted to leave so I said it was fine. When I was leaving the office manager tried to compare needing the X-​rays to needing them for an injured hand. When I requested the appointment I stated I just wanted the cleaning. I had no dental complaints. The extra radiation exposure was not necessary. To compare no dental complaints to an injured hand was just put the experience over the edge.

I have always had great service here. Prompt, friendly and relatively inexpensive. They work with you on the billing, and check with insurance limits and deductibles so they can give you good advice on cost before rescheduling treatments.

I am A current Patient at The Mount Vernon Sunrise Dental, but I started going to the Bellingham Sunrise Dental initially. I love that both offices are ran by the same Dentist, and no matter what day it is one of the offices is always open… EVEN weekends! Growing up I never really understood the important of flossing, nor did I take very good care of my teeth. I was so happy when I first visited the clinic they took pictures of everything and sat down with me and went over everything they saw, and explained to me why the work they suggested was needed. They had great examples to show what an implant was and explained it wasn’t as scary as it sounded. I actually had a missing tooth from when I was younger the baby tooth got a big cavity so it was pulled, and I never had the adult tooth. I just had an implant placed 3 months ago once they made space for it with Braces. I’m so happy with my results with the braces, and soon I will have the tooth put on the implant so I will have all my teeth back! I really could go on forever about how happy I am with everything, including the staff. From the moment I walk in and got greeted by the ladies at the front desk, to the moment the Doctor cares enough to ask about my family, and dogs. I couldn’t believe my Doctor even cared enough to remember I had gotten a new puppy last August. The Assistants are so friendly, and even walk me through everything, and make sure I’m aware of everything happening. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, both offices are AMAZING! I highly suggest anyone who is scared of the Dentist like I was, to See the doctors at the offices I go to! :)
