So the question is… how on earth can you affect a company with negative reviews if they already have so many? This has to be the worst internet I have ever ran into. Essentially they are using old antiquated equipment even though they know about, have access to and possess the ability to upgrade their crappy system. Our field service technician came back to our property one more time the other day. I just happen to have the main boxes/Fiber optic trunk line on our property. I was talking to him and noticed how old the equipment looked. There were transistors, diodes and capacitors inside their«State of the Art» box. To put that into perspective I have not seen that kind of old ass equipment since I got out of the Navy 22 years ago. It is the modern day equivalent of using one of the old cordless phones from 1986. Youngsters may not remember them but the old cordless phones had a pull out aluminum antennae that usually broke off and would need to be replaced. I was actually surprised I did not hear a 2600 baud modem attempting to dial in for my «high speed internet». I called customer service to complain. They told me I had the wrong department, probably because of my «elevated frustration level». I can say one thing, at this point I want our box upgraded. The technician told me they have the boxes and they are«awesome» as he put it. Unfortunately«Century Link» is trying to keep with their namesake and only upgrade their systems every Century or so. I honestly feel like you will have a better internet connection with two tin cans and some string. The customer service is abysmal. You will be transferred repeatedly until they can get you to go away. I am not going away. Babette, the«Escalation supervisor» informed me that I would have my upgraded internet today or tomorrow. Don’t really care anymore, now I want a new box put in. I explained to her that I know what I am talking about in this regard. It is a PLC style racking system so literally you slide the old box out, slide the new one in and voila… welcome to 2015. They have the technology, they know what needs to be done but they are too damn cheap to upgrade their equipment. If you have any other options for internet use those. Hughes net uses satellite. Unfortunately I work with a voice over IP system so the trunking does not work with the satellite or I would already be long gone. So here I sit, they have been informed that I am NOT happy at all with their slow crap. The worst part is they don’t give a flying rats ass. If you look up this company they have so many bad reviews it is pathetic. So maybe they will spend a little bit of all that money they collect from myself and my neighbors and upgrade their equipment. Surprisingly enough when I asked the«Escalation Supervisor» what kind of phone she had in her pocket there was only crickets on the other end. My money says she probably has a smart phone not a useful brick circa 1983.
