This tour was epic-duh! I found this tour company through trip advisor because Unilocal didn’t really have a lot of tour companies that dealt with lava(bad Unilocal!), and this tour was great! Before we left for Hawaii, John told me that the lava flow had dried out, so the tour was cancelled, but he could provide a tour of the volcanic forest to watch the lava lake overflow. He would even refund some of the money and any fees that was associated with the partial refund. I said sure! We met John in front of the forest. I did not come dress for the volcano weather(tank top and capris), but john gave me a flannel jacket to wear! He also had ponchos, snacks, and water for us. John is cool. He told us about his family and his passion for lava! He also told us about other places to check out while in the big island. Note: check in with John for any your because he knows what’s good! Price was reasonable, and the tour lasted about 4 hours. We tipped him $ 20 afterward. I would bring tennis shoes, long pants, hat, and a jacket! And have fun!
