Los Caxcanes

I’ve been to this place about 6 times since they opened a couple months ago. Really, really yummy and super inexpensive. The service is a little hit and miss, but always very friendly. As a (kinda, I eat seafood) vegetarian it’s hard to find variety on a mexican food menu but they have quite a few things that are completely veg! The super burrito is yummy, and the shrimp tacos are soooo good. The cheese enchiladas were good. Basically, I’ve loved everything I’ve eaten there. The margaritas aren’t that great.

I haven’t Unilocaled in a while because my job is eating up all my time. Well because of that and a trip to the post office I was wandering around Castro and stumbled upon this place. It’s inside the Monte Carlo Club which used to house Rioja (which I thought was pretty good) and gave way to Caxanes. It’s a sit down place with entrees butalso has some taqueria fare. I just got a carnitas quesadilla to go as I was pressed for time. WIth the hot sauce it was pretty tasty and intriguing enough for me to return and try some of the plates. 3.5 until I hit up the other dishes.
