Maldonado’s Pizzeria

Is there something lower than one star??? This place was awesome years ago but it has declined steeply! Their prices have reached outlandish amounts for the low level of quality and the lack of anything remotely resembling service. We placed a delivery order pretty late on a Monday night but were specifically told it was ok. Everything seemed fine on the phone. The driver shows up and states both garlic breads we ordered were in the one smaller box. Since it was the end of the night we took extra good care of him with the tip. When we got to everything it turned out the guy had missed a topping on the pizza order and there was only one «garlic bread» (see the picture attached of the burnt bread we got). When we called back to complain about the missing garlic bread and the burnt bread they basically asked what our problem was. Insinuating that somehow it was our fault that he didn’t send the order out as we ordered it. The last 4 times I ordered from them they have consistently screwed up the orders pretty badly… don’t go here… $ 37 I definitely wish I could get back again.

Wtf so confused how this place is rated so highly. Over $ 20 for a large pizza, the pizza itself was shitty, the cheese was hard, the crust was flavorless and not even remotely crispy. We were all starving when we are the pizza and it still tasted like something we bought frozen and baked in the oven.

Boo! Called in an order. Waiting for pizza to be delivered. 40 minutes later, they call to tell us they don’t deliver to our address. Why not tell us when you first took down our address?

Ordered a pizza for delivery 2 hours ago, by the time I got it it was cold. A kid on the phone says «he thinks the driver is still on his way». Saw reviews for bad customer service and decided to order anyways because I really wanted pizza. Advice, don’t order delivery.

This place is great! I rarely write Unilocal reviews of my own volition – after finding Maldonado’s Pizzeria a little over half a year ago, I have ordered from Maldonado’s between one and three times a month. The pizzas are fresh (especially the dough), the pizzeria is focused, and the staff are awesome.

I’m normally a simple pizza guy. I just want pepperoni, and sometimes I’ll go for a barbecue chicken. Last night, in trying Maldonado’s for the first time, I had a 10 inch pepperoni pizza. It was delicious, if not a tiny bit too greasy for me. I’m definitely going to order again. The pizza (ordered through DoorDash) was almost too hot to eat when it arrived. Very great service in that regard. Only reason for the docked star is the grease. Overall I was very impressed with some delicious, late night za.

It used to be my favorite place best service and food u will ever get. Unfortunately, they have new workers aNd replaced pretty much everyone assuming they wanted raises or benefits…(which they all deserved) well now the food tastes awful they are not generous at all for their food and prices are much higher. Plus whoever makes the pizzas or food doesnt always do it right. Guess they dont read tix well. All i know is after my last two visits i refuse to go there for the bad food and service until i see the older workers there. Very disappointed. Bye maldonados.

I love this place. Very well priced. Pizza by the slice. I always go for cheese but I like the meat combo as well. Great taste, and quality. Sandwiches are amazing. Calzones are to die for, and they are nice and full of everything you want. The people who work hear are great as well. And they always seem to be quick and consistent. Very well known in mountain view.

I was a little afraid the 1^st time I ordered there because it said «New York Style» pizza. Thankfully it was not. Just good standard pizza cooked right, cooked fast, and offered at a fair price. Good quantity of toppings. Quality ingredients.

After years of good service I’m sorry to report that this place has let us down. We had to have dinner late tonight, since we were out of time we decided to order delivery from this place, having been reliable in the past. I suspected something was wrong when my wife (who always places the order) said that they would be here in 20 minutes. They have never in the past 25 years gotten here anywhere near that fast so I double checked, in 20 minutes, yes that is what they told me. Of course it took closer to 45 minutes which messed up our already stressed out timetable.
Next we thought the pizza tasted odd, we have bought many pizza from them in the past 25 years and know their flavor profile very well. It turns out that the pizza was missing pepperoni, the very first ingredient my wife asked for (I sit next to her and heard her place the order clearly, I could hear the order taker repeat it back so I know the kitchen received the correct order) so we expect it to be predominant, not completely missing.
The bottom was evenly burned across the bottom leading me to believe that someone wasn’t paying attention at all, and that whoever was managing didn’t pay attention to the burned smell. Very disappointing.
My wife carefully dissected the pizza and did find one and only one small piece of pepperoni on the pizza. We are all human and make mistakes, this is not the first time Maldonados messed up an order so we were very surprised that they only offered to send a driver to pick up the pizza so they could get it back and look at it then issue a refund.
Of course that leaves us without dinner, on a day we needed them to really deliver. The manager got on the phone and insisted that this is all they could do for us, which is just not acceptable.
Other pizza places would simply send over the correct pizza right away then on their own time figure out what went wrong in the kitchen so they could fix the problem. It’s really not rocket science, if you mess up an order at a sit down restaurant they simply make you the correct dish immediately and double check to make sure that it’s what you want.
No pepperoni and burned on the bottom, leaving a burnt, acrid aftertaste in our mouths, left us rather unhappy with this expensive pizza. Cheap pizza can be had for 75% less and wouldn’t taste burned nor be missing ingredients (I know, when I’m on the road that’s what I have to get).
We are completely dissatisfied with the current management.

This review is based on this business’ terrible customer service and inconsistent policies. Read other reviews for examples of their bad customer service. I ordered pizza from Maldonado’s for delivery and I enjoyed their pizza so I decided to order again. On the second delivery, once again I was pleased with the pizza and decided to order a third time, which is when the problems began.
On both previous deliveries I had explained to the person taking the order that I lived in an area that was not far from their location, (about 3 miles) but with slightly complicated directions for the driver. On the two previous successful deliveries, the call taker assured me that delivering to my residence was not an issue and I subsequently had no issues and enjoyed my pizza and gave the driver a generous tip. (Side note, I used to be a pizza delivery driver so I always tip very well)
Back to the third order. During the third order the call taker once again brought up the issue with delivering to my residence. I began to explain the directions once more when the order taker decided to ask the owner of the business who happened to be there this time. The owner then told the call taker to tell me that he would not send drivers to my residence because it takes them too long to deliver to my location, which is 3 miles away. When I asked the call taker why it was ok to send the driver on the two previous occasions they could not come up with an answer. My guess was they just don’t like paying customers. That’s too bad, I found another pizza place that delivers to me with no problems. Looks like Maldonado’s doesn’t mind losing business to competitors for what seems like no reason at all.

I am extremely disappointed by the complete absence of customer service and sheer disrespect for their customers. We made an order for a pizza sub sandwich, but the sandwich was made incorrectly without any pizza sauce. We understand that people make mistakes, so we simply called back to ask for another one to be delivered. However, he was completely unapologetic and had a very accusatory tone saying that it was our fault that we didn’t specify that we wanted the pizza sauce on the sub despite the fact the sub is called «pizza sub sandwich,» advertised with pizza sauce and cheese. He reluctantly agreed to make us a new sandwich if we brought the sandwich back to him. We asked if it could be delivered to us since they had messed up on the order. He refused and said that the only option was to bring it back in person even after we explained that we only live a block away.
When we arrived back at the restaurant, the only staff ganged up against us and one of them even raised his voice saying, «I know how to make this sandwich! Look the pizza sub sandwich comes with pizza sauce, cheese, meatballs or sausage, OR 4 toppings. If you had ordered a sandwich with meatballs or sausage, I would have put the sauce on there.» We then explained that our sub was a sausage sandwich, but he still maintained that it was our fault. We then tried to explain to him that this was our first issue. The second issue was the way the situation was being handled. We explained that we understood that a mistake could be made, but we expect to be treated with respect as a paying customer. At this point, multiple staff members started to chip in and say, «Well, other customers bring the sandwiches back, and they don’t have a problem with it.» Ultimately, we were so frustrated that we asked to speak with their manager, but he was not in at the time and they would not give us his number. We have decided to never come back and advise you to find some place else to eat.

Maldonados pizza !!! Is a great place good pizza the only thing i dont like is the people answering the phone no experience, dont know nothing about costumer service specially this guy his name i think is «jose» very rude person !!! The only reason i give a 3 star is because of this guy!!!

I’ve been ordering from Maldonado since I moved to mountain view back in April. The reason why I order from them is that Maldos does all the fundamental pizza parts correctly crust is perfect not too thin not too thick, cheese blend is awesome, great choice of ingredients and the best part is it’s sooo affordable. Maldonado is awesome. Yes there are better pizza places. But for the price and quality. No competition.

Visiting from out of town. Staying at local hotel. Used delivery website. Worked well and flowed easy.
Delivery took about 35 minutes. Very reasonable.
Large pizza is LARGE !
Pizza was New York style and delicious. Plenty of fresh toppings. Nice cheese coverage.
Caesar salad was large with fresh ingredients. Dressing was great.
When ordering I made sure it said HOTEL would have been nice if they would have sent forks and plates.
Overall really good deal

Nothing fancy, just your run-​of-​the-​mill greasy pizza shop but definitely the best pizza I’ve found in the Mountain View area so I’m giving it four stars. It’s always ready pretty fast and it tastes pretty good, but to be honest if this was back home (I’m from Boston) I would have probably rated it closer to 2 stars.

Drove by this place couple of times and it always has that delicious smelly. So tonight we finally got us a pizza plus cheesy bread. The cheesy bread was super cheesy and kinda bland. It supposes to have garlic and some other herbs but all I could taste was the cheese. The pizza was thin crust which was different, but I prefer round tables pizza. All in all, my body isn’t uses to fresh ingredients that’s why I didn’t like it that much.

This place has been around since I was in middle school, probably longer than I’ve been alive. Always reliable for $ 4 cheese sticks! Er, now they’re $ 5, but still great value!
Just last week, got a personal sized Hawaiian for roughly $ 12, a little on the pricier end for casual pizza eaters, but again, still okay value for what you get. Their pizza is def best eaten fresh though. Don’t wait!
Overall, a good go-​to joint, very convenient, good for a meal-​for-​one, and reasonable price for what they offer
