Mmm, spareribs. I’ve been to Gabriel’s Fire twice and have had the ribs both times. I love that they have such a huge variety of sauces and you can order as many as you want. The meat is always perfectly smoky and melts in your mouth! The Carolina and XXX sauces have been my favorite so far, but I haven’t had all of them so it’s hard to truly evaluate them. The BF had The Earl Of Cheese sandwich which comes with brisket, cheese and slaw, and WOW. Just wow. It was so incredibly flavorful and everything worked so well together. It was so good that next time I come, I may have to order a sandwich. The sides here are great as well, but do note that the fries are not shoe string as written in the menu. The baked beans here are great, but they do have more a chili flavor instead of the slightly sweet baked BBQ bean flavor.

We’ve lived in Seattle for over a year now(moved here from the southeast) and haven’t found any good bbq until today. We tried the pulled pork sandwhiches(kc style and carolina). Totally hit the spot for our bbq craving. The sides were good(homemade fries, coleslaw and mac-n-cheese) but a little pricey for what you get. Definetly a repeat but next time will probably just get the sandwhiches. Looking forward to trying all of their sauces.

I came here last night with a friend for the first time. It was incredible! It took me about thirty minutes to even decide what to order, as there are so many different items and they all sound delicious. My friend and I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, a sandwich called the pauline, mac and cheese, and gumbo. They were INCREDIBLE. I have a feeling that everything on the menu is worth trying. They definitely know what they are doing. We asked the man helping us what he’d recommend for sides(the gumbo!) and he did not steer us wrong. Other than that, it’s a cute hole in the wall. Really cute, chill atmosphere. GREAT music. Some cool old school sports pictures on the wall. Feels like all the staff would be pretty close. I drove by this place way too many times before I tried it. Stop in!

Good place to eat! The brisket was so good and tender. The kc bbq sauce was just the right amount of sweet and spice. Will definitely be back for dinner or lunch again.

These guys know what they’re doing! It’s been difficult to find really good BBQ in this area, and this place is GREAT! We tried a variety of items: Half chicken = moist and flavorful, not a hint of dryness Brisket = tender and tasty Pound of Ribs = out of this world smoky and melt-in-your-mouth Baked Beans = tasted a bit like a sweet and spicy bowl of chili Mac and Cheese = homemade and cheesy Black Bottom Pie = decadent, rich, & satisfying ** The service was friendly and warm, the atmosphere was comfortable, the price was moderate. Well worth the trip and splurge.

Thia is a little hole in the wall bbq place with a great menu. I had a pulled pork sandwich with the KC sauce and it hit the spot. The fresh, toasted roll it was on was the perfect vehicle for my pork. Add in the homemade Tillamook mac and cheese, and it was the perfect little bbq dinner. My wife had pulled chicken with the Corona sauce, which I thought was a tad too sweet. The fries have excellent seasoning but are NOT shoestring like the menu says — disappointing! The table next to us got the Texas Eggshells which I must try next time — they looked incredible. Docking a star for the Lie Fries and the parking, which is terrible. The whole establishment is actually kind of small, but honestly not overcrowded! Great service and amazing prices — we will be back!

Pros: Best beef brisket I’ve ever had. Flavorful crispy thick cut french fries. Awesome sauces. Damn good food. Cons: not enough tables and chairs even on a weeknight. No frills décor. Get it to go and call ahead.

NEVEREVERGOINGBACK!!! My boyfriend and I were originally excited to make this place our new favorite and eat a fulfilling dinner after working all day, but the waiter was(excuse my French) a d**k from the get-go. When my boyfriend ordered ½ lb pork ribs, he literally got this(look at photo attached). When we got this plate, the conversation literally went like this word for word: My bf to waiter: «Is this a half pound?» Waiter: «Yeah.» He said it like we were stupid. Waiter: «What?! Do you want to go to the back and weigh it on the scale yourselves? That’s a half pound, you’re not getting an ounce more!» WTF was that about? We didn’t come here for an attitude problem. All we wanted was good service and good food but they totally ruined our appetite and our desire to ever return due to their rudeness and petty portions. Literally sad to say, there was only 1 bone remaining on his plate as proof that they underserved us. Talk about hospitality!

Absolutely fantastic BBQ and atmosphere. When I got there, not many people were there, but I as I sat and ate, many more people showed up. The staff was awesome, super polite and talking with many of the customers casually. I had the brisket sandwich with the KC sauce with fries and Mac and cheese. The brisket was very good and you can tell the Mac and cheese is homemade. I will definitely be heading back and I assure anyone who is looking for good BBQ in the area, you can stop looking!

Out-of-towner here who Unilocaled something that looked good on my cell while my family and I were starved while driving by this town. Found this place. Got here on a Saturday for a late lunch, and it was pretty empty inside. Take out seems to be more the catch at this joint, or maybe it was just because of the sport events happening. Everything we got was great. From the mac and cheese and beans sides to the pulled pork and brisket, even the coleslaw; and I don’t even like coleslaw. Dig the truck, had to take some touristy pics of it! Extremely nice too which is a huge bonus. If we come back this way, we will have to stop once again and get some good grub!

Great place. We got take out, so I can’t speak for the restaurant and what not, but the food was effing great. We got pork shoulder and brisket and it was succulent and tasty. The bbq sauce was great! We also got sides, macaroni salad and mac and cheese and they were alright. The macaroni salad was really spicy so be careful! It is a bit pricey, but on par with all other barbecue places I’ve been to. I’m definitely coming back to this place.

My hubby and I found this place thanks to your amazing Unilocal reviews. The place is small and very clean and modern for a bbq joint. I loved the nice leather menus, and that they use real silverware/plates, and formal dining napkins. Great way to set themselves apart from the traditional bbq spots. –Food: my husband ordered the shredded pork sandwich topped with slaw. It was GREAT!!! Flavorful and tender pork with a very creamy and rich slaw. They use quality bread that is slightly toasted, but keeps that delicious chewiness that a baguette should always have. You could tell that it was fresh baked bread. For sides he chose fries which were done right – crispy fries(think 5 guys fries). He also ordered the mac and cheese which was in his famous words, «alright». It lacked the creaminess that I expected. I ordered the brisket… OHMY!!! AMAZING brisket it was! Tender, moist, topped with their yummy mustard sauce. At first, I was a bit bummed that my sandwich didn’t come with anything else, but after tasting it, I knew why. It didn’t need anything else! It came on the same yummy bread as my husbands pulled pork sandwich, and we were literally fighting over the last bite. It was that gooood. The price points were pretty decent too. My sides were the baked beans which were rich and had a great flavor. I also tried the mac salad and it looked much better than it tasted. I love creamy, rich pasta salad so I was a bit disappointed. My solution = mixing my pasta in with my beans. Problem solved. Next time I’ll try the potato salad or get fries. Their meat alone is worth coming for. –Lastly, we broke down when our waiter suggested their amazing cheesecake. It was huge, creamy, and packed with flavor(think vanilla or some other yummy spice). Oh, and the crust was thick and buttery just the way I like it. It was made by the owners mother and she really put her foot in it. Very good cheesecake and much better than cheesecake factory. It inspired me to try making my own sometime. —it was THAT good. Bottom Line = come here and try it if you want some great bbq up North. Very good Q!

I am not sure how a gem like this went so long without me trying it. My daughter attended driver’s ed nearby and I made it a point to get into this place. OH. EM. GEE. Most BBQ places are hit and miss on the different dishes, but I can say that I have loved everything have tried here so far. My first visit they didn’t have the bread pudding, but my second visit they did. My only recommendation is to keep that a regular thing — it’s better than the cheesecake hands down.

My S/O found this restaurant, so kudos to her in doing so! While very small in size, the food is large in taste. I opted for the brisket sandwich while she went for the pork ribs. The meat was tender, smoky and delicious. You have something like 10 different sauces to choose from; regional bbq sauces from around the country. They range from tangy to burn your face off. Given the fact that I don’t like having my mouth on fire while I’m eating, I chose one of the tangy ones. It was just awesome. The S/O was also quite please with her ribs, and the accompanying sauce. While it’s a bit far away for us to be regulars at Gabriel’s Fire, we’ll definitely be going back.

«A locally owned down to earth BBQ joint tucked away in the Mountlake Terrace neighborhood.» We have passed by Gabriel’s Fire numerous times without so much as a second thought on stopping by for dinner. The colorful building scheme is both eye catching and sparks curiosity. I decided to pay the restaurant a visit and was pleasantly surprised at the service, food, and selections. The restaurant itself is not huge however the seating area is adequate and patrons have an option to sit at the bar. There are a variety of brews on the tap and the menu selection provides many options even for the most discerning BBQ connoisseurs. I opted for the ½lb Brisket with mustard sauce and a side of coleslaw. The beef was tender, moist, and flavorful. The coleslaw was a good accompaniment and the mustard sauce provided the right amount of heat and spice. The order options allows anyone to customize the sauce and sides. Prices are definitely on the lower end of scale and service was top notch. I would absolutely return to this restaurant in the future.

There arent very many bbq joints near the Shoreline area so it’s awesome that there’s a locally owned place like Gabriel’s Fire nearby. Went there with a couple buddies and ordered the brisket, rib tips and a couple sides. The flavor of the KC sauce was delicious on the meat, but the meat was slightly dry for my taste which is why I didn’t give it a 5. Still the best BBQ in the area so I’ll definitely go back.

I always love local success stories and Gabriel’s Fire absolutely fits the bill. Locally owned and operated in Mountlake Terrace since 2007, these guys are experts when it comes to the art of BBQ and preparing good, quality meals. The location is a little small with a fair amount of seating in the dining area and a bar where one can enjoy a meal, a drink, and whatever game might be on TV at the time. When I say it’s small, my intent is to convey it as cozy and intimate which is the experience I had more than cramped and uncomfortable although this might change depending on how many people are there. Whenever I am trying out a place for the first time, I always have a hard time deciding on what to try so I went with a combination of pork ribs, brisket, macaroni and cheese, and cole slaw. To me, these are staples of any respectable BBQ joint and each should be considered as a true test of quality. While most BBQ places will stick with one particular style, Gabriel’s is willing to offer a various assortment of sauces to complement their dry rub style of cooking. I tried the Cuban style Diablo sauce which had a good mix of sweet and spice as well as the Jerk sauce which is meant to have more of a Caribbean influence. I really liked the Diablo sauce for it’s mix of flavors although the Jerk sauce really didn’t do much for me. The pork ribs were really good and tender with that perfect smoky flavor you would expect and they paired nicely with the aforementioned Diablo sauce. As for the brisket, I am still, after several days, having fond, lingering memories of every single bite of this perfectly prepared meat. Seriously, the brisket was so good it needed no sauce so I made sure to keep it a safe distance from both the Diablo and the Jerk. I would have felt like a jerk if I had even attempted to mess with such divine slices of beef, the kind that just melt in your mouth and make you pause for a moment between each mouthwatering bite. The macaroni and cheese and the cole slaw were pretty much exactly what I was hoping for when it comes to BBQ side items. It was so nice to see these made traditionally as opposed to most BBQ places in the Seattle area that try to get all fancy or by using ingredients that completely change what the dish is. I’ll definitely be back to try one of their tasty looking sandwiches and looking forward to another memorable experience devouring as much brisket as I can get my hands on.

The brisket is a solid 4 stars. It is moist, smokey and tasty. I like that the fat layer is left on. That helps to keep it moist. The spare ribs get a 3 ½ stars. They were moist, but I like them done longer to just before falling-off-the-bone doneness. Rib tips, instead of being sold as a separate cut, was included. The rub was not tasty enough to eat without sauce. Speaking of which, we got KC, Corona, and Diablo. KC and Corona were tasty, but mild, and the Diablo was hot without depth. When I mixed the Diablo with either of the others, it was delicious. The chicken was overdone. They were very small –possibly game hens. I would not reorder them. The greens and fries were very tasty.
