Good milkshakes and other sweet drinks! Service is a little slow, but the corn dogs and Tator tots are great!

Drinks are amazing and choices are practically endless. Food is overpriced but fine. Wait times at this location are ridiculous though. I have waited 20+ for four drinks on more than one occasion.

The cool part of this place is the outdoor kids playground.
My daughter loves it for that and they have great grilled cheese sandwich for her.
It’s her favorite place to go during the warmer weather.
I’ve learned to like the hotdogs, the Chicago dog is the best out of the bunch.
Service better than the last time I was here.
So I guess I am starting to like this place a little more.

Ok, so where I grew up, we didn’t have a Sonic anywhere to be found. So my first and only experience is from this one. I have taken my kids here now about 4 times in the past 5 years. (we don’t do fast food a lot)
Each time we have an enjoyable experience. Their burgers/​hot dogs look like they do in the pictures and taste just as good. (you can’t say that about a lot of fast food places) Their Sonic Blasts are AWESOME! They serve all the food on their menu regardless of the time. And this particular Sonic is open until midnight.
Now, I will say that each time we have gone, it has been in the late Fall, Winter or early Spring, so I don’t know if the quality goes down during the summer when there is a lot of traffic to OBX.
The staff is friendly and outgoing. You can order from one of their parking stations or go through the drive through.
And if you are a local, they will give you a discount!

I am a pretty big fan of Sonic. Not a huge fan of fast food in general, but Sonic is one of my exceptions. I pulled in and I was texting my wife and I didn’t realize that I had been there a few minutes. The girl came out to make sure everything was okay and that the system was functioning properly. That was a plus because they actually pay attention to what is going on around them. The lady was very nice and I told her I would order shortly. My food did not take long, was fresh, hot, and delicious. As far as Sonic goes, this one was on point.

Of course Im a fan… Ever since I tried the caramel shake… I have to have it… been to NY, KS, NE, MD, NC… and the shakes are delish… I also order the Ched R Peppers… small deep fried battered poppers oozing with molten lava. cheddar cheese… wait a few minutes before you fry your mouth, wish they had more pescetarian options :(

This is a fun place to stop on the way to OBX. Food is ok, nothing really special here except the roller skating gimmick.

I stopped at Sonic yesterday for a quick meal while driving back from the outer banks. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger meal and a hot dog meal for my car buddy. After a bit of a wait, I get my meal, pay for it and tip the guy. He asks me if I want napkins! He goes back inside to get my change and my napkins and I start eating my burger. It is kind of scrambled inside the bag. Where is the bacon? The waiter comes back out and I show him there is no bacon on my half eaten sandwich. I tell him I would simply like for him to refund the difference between what I ordered and what I got. This sounds quite reasonable to me as I have already consumed half of the burger. Several minutes later, after I have finished, he comes out and tells me that he cannot refund the difference but can make me another burger! I was already full! He says there was no way to refund the dollar I had overpaid for their error. He asks me if I want another burger or not. I decline. This is the second time this has happened to me at Sonic. It wont happen again.

A decent, grab and go food place. I wish this one had a volleyball court like the ones in Texas do.

3.5…Is there one of these anywhere near Northern VA? Because there needs to be! 2 shakes, 1 drink, 1 kids meal, and one extra long dog for $ 10. Not to mention I didn’t feel like vomiting after eating it. Not so nasty for fast food but then again… I did only get a kids meal with chicken fingers. I loved that the shakes were buy 1 get one free, yum, AND that I got to push a to have someone take my order. Weird. But I like it!
It was late, I was hungry and irritated from driving, and this loverly place was the only place open that I passed. So it’s a little creepy there around 11 PM, the roaches crawling outside didn’t help plus brought up concerns about how sanitary this establishment is but the food was clean and nom. Even though the people here were super sweet and didn’t look at me like a moron when I asked how this place works… Definitely have a buddy with you late at night.
