Went to Bertucci’s for dinner. A bit crowded as it was close to 6 o’clock. Pudgy guy at the door says it will be a 5 to 10 minute wait. OK by me, so I take the little fazzer they hand out and sit near the nice warm pizza oven. As I sit there, with the couple that came in before me, I notice that people coming through the door are being seated. My 5 to 10 min. wait has now turned into 20 minutes. So I take my fazzer and tell the pudgy kid at the door where to put it and remind him he shouldn’t lye to customers. Be a while before I go back.

Bertucci’s is a family favorite. It’s a go to spot for a good, quick Italian meal. We love the salad and warm unlimited rolls. Here’e my breakdown: — SPECIALS– Burtucci’s runs great specials, so be on the look out. Recently they’ve been running a dinner for 2 special for $ 35 which includes soup or salad, two entrees and dessert. –LUNCH– $ 7.99 lunch specials. The sandwiches are delicious and you’re almost guaranteed to eat too much with the unlimited salad and bread. –SERVICE– this has recently been on the decline and has become a hit or miss. — FOOD– good quality, affordable prices and generous portions. — VENUE– there is a private room which can be rented to parties. The place can fill up quick during prime dinner/lunch time.

My family and I eat Bertucci’s takeout once in awhile, but we go to the restaurant once in a blue moon. So pretty much rarely. The last time I’ve eaten at Bertucci’s was probably over 4 years ago. With that being said, I came here yesterday with my parents at around 5:45 pm, and we got seated in less than 30 seconds which was a plus since I’m assuming that’s the time most normal people eat.(I usually eat at 7 pm) I was starving! I ordered the Spinach & Artichoke Dip for a quick starter which came with pita bread on the side, and our waiter brought out the bread in the meantime. The bread was so warm and soft, and it melted right in my mouth so you can imagine how much bread my parents & I ate before our appetizer came out. The appetizer by the way was also DELICIOUS. By the time our pizzas came around — Margherita & Bruschetta Pizza — I was so stuffed. But if you think about it, I basically had a 3 course meal of dough so you can see why I got so stuffed so quickly. I always order pizza from here, so I can’t really vouch for any of the other menu items but I’m sure they’re just as delicious!

If you come here for lunch before 3pm like I did, you get complimentary bread and salad for the table. The salad was good but the bread was a little dry(it’s better when you come for dinner). I ordered the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer as my lunch. It was light but probably too small as a table appetizer for a family. My dad got a small personal pizza. The crust was crispy and thin. However, the tomato sauce lacked flavor. The small pizza is a good portion for a lunch. I also got the Bertucci’s Cherry Coke which is Coke, oranges, maraschino cherries and grenadine. The drink was a little bit too sweet for me, I would get it with more Coke and less grenadine. It also was not very carbonated. The atmosphere is homey, and fairly quiet. The waitress was kind and attentive, as was the rest of the staff that came to check on us.

I love places that unexpectedly offer free wifi — woot woot! First time in this chain that I had never heard of. It should come with a warning: «Come starving and don’t eat all the bread first.» Of course, I came with my sister and I was kinda hungry and because the bread was so so so good, we ate the entire basket almost immediately. Love the dipping sauce! The never ending salad was simple but very tasty. We share a stuffed mushroom dish for $ 9 and I opted for the sausage and pepper lunch special for about $ 8. Iced tea another $ 2. Everything was fast, tasty and quite good — couldn’t finish my sandwich! Our server was adorable and perky.

I went here after a long day at the mall nearby– the convenience of the location is really nice. There’s a small bar in the front but not a huge draft beer selection(just one IPA, Sam Adams Lager and seasonal, and Heineken, Stella, and Bud Light). The rolls and olive oil are amazing and came nice and fresh and hot. Our waiter, an older man, was very attentive, but not incredibly friendly or talkative. I ordered fettucine with marinara and they grated fresh Parmesan over my food which was really good but the portion side left a little to be desired. My boyfriend got the crabcakes which he said were actually really good, but they only came with two crabcakes and the portion left a bit to be desired as well. My sister got the eggplant with pasta and she enjoyed hers as well and her portion size was actually okay. Overall, great food, okay service, small portion sizes, and oh yeah, pretty pricey.

I went here tonight with my 5 year old daughter and my wife who was about 5 minutes behind us. We had an incident with the manager, Frank Urena. When we got there, there was no one waiting for a table and there was only person having a bowl of soup at the bar. There wasn’t even a bartender present. We had a few minutes to kill and my daughter asked if she could sit on a chair at the bar in front of the tv. As soon as I sat her up there, Jay, the bartender, comes up from the back room and tells me she can’t sit there. I told him we’ve done this many times at many restaurants and no one usually cares. We’re just waiting a few minutes for the table and there’s no one around. I told him that I’m sure if you ask the manager, he’ll be fine with it. Now the manager comes over and tells me again that she’s going to have to get down. Now I’m visibly mad. I understand that they have rules, but the way they handled it made me feel like I was being reprimanded. I was made to feel completely unwelcome. I picked up my daughter and stood with her right next to the chair they wouldn’t let her sit in. So about 2 minutes later my wife gets there and we sit down at a table. My daughter asked for the kids pizza with pepperoni on only half of it. The waitress said oh we can’t do that. I just looked at her like she was ridiculous. The eventually made the pizza with half peperoni, but we had to keep asking and they made it out like they were doing us this huge favor. I was so pissed at my experience thus far that I didn’t eat a bite of my dinner. Then the jerk of a manager comes over and asks me how my untouched dinner was. I didn’t want to make my wife uncomfortable, so I just bit my tongue. Apparently, they get so much business that they don’t care about customer experience. If you’re just looking for food and you don’t care that the managers are jerks, then go here. I personally believe that the customer experience is just as important as the food.

We have always enjoyed this location for family meals. They have good pizza and pasta dishes. Make your own brick oven pizza with a decent selection of toppings. The bread is fresh and delicious each time and lunch menus are a great value. It is very family friendly with speedy service so we especially appreciated this place when our kids were younger. Quality has been consistent and my favorite is the chocolate cake, decadent and satisfying

I ordered the small Margherita and added pepperoni, sweet Italian sausage. The order comes with a free salad. Can’t beat that! Its been a few years since I have dined at Bertucci’s. Today is a good day for a good pizza!

It’s a shame. Used to be so good. While mgr comped my small pepperoni pizza lunch to compensate for it being raw & undercooked, made with clearly old dough that had been sitting out forever, I missed out on eating because I had to be back at work. Pleasant apologies, but there were only 6 people in the entire restaurant. There are no excuses in a situation like that. MGR and everyone else too busy chatting about soccer and still getting ready for the business day even though they had been open for an hour. Disappointing.

Mussels came more than half of them not opened. I told the waitress. She didn’t even offer to not charge me for them. I didn’t say anything, but I probably should have. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. I’d skip this place and find a real Italian restaurant.

Meh… Not that great at all… When we came in no wait which was good for a Sunday. Server was nice but. we waited a long time for our drinks and our complementary bread. We ordered brushetta. which was just ok… My husband ordered grilled salmon meal… That was his exact face. My 10yr old ordered cheese ravioli. It was lukewarm and sauce was flavorless. I had the unlimited soup and salad. No complaints. Salad was the generic caesar salad. Soup was sausage. Not so bad. I use to enjoy going to Bertucci’s, their mixed drinks, and food but this wasn’t an enjoyable or memorable meal. Would I go back? Maybe, if all the other restaurants were packed and Bertucci had availability… but mostly like not!

When you’re here, your family… is asking if you have any leftovers. At least they will be now! I hit up Bert’s for the first time this past week and pretty much loved it. Fellow Unilocaler Jenny M notified me of their prolonged Valentine’s Day deal; $ 35 for 2 soup or salads, 2 entrees, and a dessert to share. And bread. Lots and lots of delicious bread. I think my newly found fondness of Bert’s speaks volumes, coming from a childhood filled with Olive Garden and an adulthood filled with non-chain South Philadelphia Italian restaurants. I had always considered Olive Garden to be the older brother, but it seems like Big Bert has stepped up to the plate(pun intended) with some home run dishes. My only complaint lies with our proximity to the kitchen. We overheard a few personal conversations between some employees, as well as an argument between two servers. Call it competition, call it case of the Mondays; either way it was kind of awkward for the two of us. I like my bread with butter, not drama. No complaints about the single dessert either; I let the chivalrous being inside of me give my girlfriend the larger of the two halves.

Took the wife and kids here. Got right in no wait. Kids love playing with the dough and crayons. They got buttered pasta, that’s what kids eat. Wife and I got a pizza. Pizza is good, had the spinach artichoke dip, which was good. A lot of bread dishes we ate tonight. Now we are breaded out. Service was good too.

HUGE, ½ INCHMAGGOT!!! So I waited a few months to post this but felt guilty and feel the public need to know, that there was a HUGE, ½ INCHMAGGOT cooked into my lemon chicken piccata(glazed in with the capers) We did not have to pay for the meal… big whoop. It was right on the top, and I wish I got a photo but the waitress took it away super fast. I have never gone back, and feel the need to start telling people about this, TO you the public I am sorry I have kept silent this long and trusted Bertuccis to take care of cleaning their kitchen.

Say what you want about Italian chain restaurants, but hear me out; Bertucci’s is pretty darn good. It’s nearly impossible not to get a craving after driving anywhere nearby, because the wood-fire ovens omit a devastatingly delicious scent. Over and over again, that scent has set off a deep desire for a pizza and a house salad. There are some really good dishes on the menu — I’ve enjoyed the Shrimp Risotto and a few others, but by far the highlight is the pizza. You can totally taste the wood fire in the crust, which is exactly what I like. My biggest compliant here is that my favorite pizza, the butternut squash and candied walnut, is ‘seasonal’ and therefore unavailable during the summer months(C’mon, just make it a year round thing!) Recently, however, I discovered the ability to create my own pizza. I asked for white(no sauce), and added goat cheese and artichokes — not bad. Of course, the rolls and dipping oil are nearly enough to spoil your appetite, let alone make it to dessert(which is, however, generally delicious — they make all sorts of warm, gooey things). This particular location can get busy, but has a pretty stellar staff — John Michael is a favorite.

After a week of hotel dinners and frozen meals, wanted to go out for some nearby brick oven pizza. Found Bertucci’s on my trusty Unilocal app less than 5 miles, and my teammates were open to the idea. Getting to the restaurant at 6 pm, I was very surprised that there wasn’t a wait for an open table. B’s had a number of local beers on draft, so got one. Ordered a small(12″) Pucillo(Pepperoni, Italian sausage, onions, and green peppers). The rolls were very nice– soft on the inside, crusty on the outside. EVOO with red pepper flakes was served as a dip– very tasty and took the edge out of my hunger while waiting for the pizza. The Pucillo was soon served, just what the doctor ordered– thin crust, a little carmelized but not burnt, veggies not cooked through and soggy. Combined with the draft local red ale, it hit the spot and made my week! Bertucci’s is now one of my favorite chain restaurants, hope they open one up in my neck of the woods! Filling out the on-line survey, I got a $ 5 coupon for dine in or carry out. Might have to use it before I leave NJ! Someplace to recommend and repeat!

Wow, this Bertucci’s has gone downhill! Dirty glasses. Indifferent service. Meh food. For chain Italian, go down the street to Carrabba“s. For pizza, cross the street for Taconnelli’s.
