Grease Monkey – Mt. Prospect #200

These guys are impressive! I’ve been to plenty of quick lube places but this is the first time I stopped at Grease Monkey. I pulled in the lot to see when I could get an oil change. Before I could park, a guy inside saw me and waved me into the bay. When I pulled in he said, «Hi. It’ll be 15 minutes.» He wasn’t kidding! (I was hoping for 45 minutes because there’s a Dunkin’ Donuts next store… ha ha). So I sat down and noticed they were washing my windows and checking things like wipers and lights. About 8 minutes later Joey called me over to my car. He had a detailed print out of the services due for my vehicle at the mileage it was at. He told me about several that were required according to the charts, but said he checked and they didn’t need attention just yet. Then he mentioned other services that did need attention now. He told me WHY they needed attention and WHY attending to them now would save me problems later. He also gave me a reasonable price for each service and let me decide how I wanted to proceed. No high pressure. Once my car was finished he put my information in the system, told me I could get my receipt emailed to me if I wanted, and I was on my way. That was the best (quickest, most professionally handled) experience I’ve had any a lube place. I’d definitely go back.

Went in for a normal oil change, bit the upsell to replace one of my 3^rd stoplight bulbs (the stoplight inside the car in the back)
They jiggled the light and it worked again, didn’t reinstall screws, and still charged me for the full service. Lots of oily hand prints all over the back trunk deck. I didn’t even get the bulb they charged me for.
Anyway, decent place for an oil change, they vacuum out your floorboards and refill your washer fluid. Double check any ancillary services they manage to sell to you.

Another pleasant oil change experience here today!

It’s nice that I always see the same guys working here. I’ve been patronizing this location for 2 years now and I always see the same employees; even after the location went from being a Lube Pro to a Grease Monkey.
Will be back. Very friendly guys and it’s so convenient.

Relatively more expensive than your average maintenance shop, but extremely fast service. Not really the most friendly people, but they get the job done

Friendly and fast. While other services were recommended, they didn’t pressure me into additional purchases. I would definitely return as the price is more competitive than their competition.

Quick service, but get ready for a litany of sales pitches before you can finally pay and leave. It would be nice to not have to sit through the same run-​down of services every single time I go for an oil change.

Really great oil change close to where I work. I stopped in during rush hour and was able to get right in to one of their three bays. No pushy service like you get at chain oil change stations — instead, the lead tech evaluated all the fluids and systems in my car to let me know what could be done on site and what I could take back to my mechanic.
Service was fast and efficient and came in right around what I’d expect to pay for an oil change on my car. Overall great experience and will be back.

After several unsavory experiences at Jiffy Lube I decided to change it up and give Grease Monkey a try. What a breath of fresh air! Out in under 20 minutes, super friendly staff, and no pushiness for all the little ‘extras’ you get asked to purchase with an oil change. Walked out with a $ 7 rebate for my next high mileage oil change and $ 10 off since apparently Tuesday is Ladies Night. Never going back to Jiffy Lube!

I bring all five of my cars here and they do make you aware of what needs to be done, some of the reviews indicate that they try to upsell you all the time. My feeling is you do need to do more than just change the oil if you want your car to work right. If I forget a coupon they always give me one anyway.
One time I accidently poured snowblower gas into the windshield wiper reservoir and they removed it free and replaced the fluid. Jesus and Isreal are good guys they are the same guys when it was Lube Pros.

These guys suck. I miss lube pros. Came in for «early bird» special because I live down the block. Four guys working on my car, not a single one knew how to work on cars. Brought my wife’s car and my two other cars here on previous occasions and all they do is try to upsell you. I thought jiffy lube was bad but for the same price I paid here you may as well go to jiffy lube, at lease they are more courteous and professional. They should invest more in teaching their employees how to work on cars instead of mailing out annoying and useless coupons. Will never step foot in here again! So much for the proximity convenience.

I came here when, it was Lube pros. Then they we’re great. I received a $ 15.00 off coupon from Mobil 1, so I brought my Honda Pilot here for a full service Oil change.
About a week later, I decided to check my oil, it’s 1 quart down, the tires are 29,34,27 and 24 lbs. all around. I was so mad, My Pilot doesn’t eat oil and I left Grease Monkey, with perfect 35 lbs. each tire, so they claim. I’m going back to lube pro’s in Norridge, Il.
There are 2 brother’s who work together and they do the best job ever. No second
guessing on your vehicle, they do the job right the 1^st time. amen
