Cutting Lounge

My first visit to The Cutting Lounge was outstanding! I was looking for a new, local salon. Everyone made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. The atmosphere was wonderful and most importantly my hair looked great! I will be back for sure! Price and quality can’t be beat!

I have found my new favorite salon! Katherine was able to get me a same day appointment with Sam, who did an amazing job! She listened to what I wanted and was professional and took her time. I LOVE the cut and will definitely be back!

Teresa is a great stylist. She listens to what her clients want, makes suggestions, but the bottom line is you’ll get what you ask for. My last foil treatment was just perfect. (Plus we like the same authors, so we have lots to talk about) :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the girls here! I started coming here because my mother in law has been getting her hair done by Katherine for 20 years. They are up to date on current styles, and are knowledgeable in all techniques. It is a Eufora Salon, meaning they only use the most natural healthy products. I swear by their products. I honestly cannot say enough amazing things about The Cutting Lounge. I’m having my hair done by Katy today– I’ll post a picture!

Katherine is really good, although she’s expensive! That’s why I gave 4 stars. Quality perspective she’s a true five star hair professional.

After 50 years I finally found the perfect salon. I worked with a gal that had gorgeous hair. I asked her where she went and she told me about The Cutting Lounge. That was about 6 months ago and after 6 months of having Katherine and Katy color and cut my hair and using their incredible products my hair is in better shape than it has ever been. I’ve been able to ditch the daily flat ironing I’d done for years that was so damaging to it. I use all their products and hair brushes and my hair is so much softer and smoother. I can’t recommend them enough!

Katy is exceptional at making sure you leave satisfied and feeling great. Her cut and coloring techniques make for a hair that looks great even 3 – 4 months out! This is a wonderful salon with caring and skilled stylists.

Teresa was awesome at blow drying my hair. I have very curly hair and she managed to get it straight without the use of a flat iron. Will be definitely coming back!

Awesome place, super friendly and did a great job. Fantastic hot towel and scalp massage too!

Sam gave me one of the best haircut experiences I have ever had. She is very friendly, professional, and skillful. Other stylists have butchered my simple haircut but Sam listened to me and delivered the right haircut. I will be going back to Cutting Lounge every time I need a haircut.

Katherine has been cutting my hair for awhile now. I have natural curly hair and am pretty particular with who I let cut my hair — have had enough bad cuts in my lifetime! Katherine always does a really good job and I get tons of compliments. I love my curls!

Got a haircut and highlights. Teresa did an amazing job and was very thoughtful about my requests. She knows what she is doing when it comes to picking right color mix. Being there for about 2 hours was very relaxing and pleasant, like a mini spa treatment.

When I first moved to town 3 years ago, I searched for a true salon. Katherine was in close proximity of my home and was happily willing to take on my waist-​length hair for cut and color without hesitation!
She took time to describe, in detail, the Euphora product line and helped me select a color that I wanted and that would look best with my skin tone. It turned out amazing!
In all of my years, she has given me the best haircut I’ve ever had! She listened to me and was careful to leave length just as I asked. In the past I’ve had one too many stylists get scissor happy. She fully understood my concerns and walked me through every detail so that I was comfortable with the cut.
Teresa colors my hair often, and always has a cute idea for some special style afterward. She’s great at making you feel comfortable stepping out of that «zone» and having some fun.
The Euphora product line is fantastic, and my hair has never been healthier! I won’t stray from these products ever! They deliver with ingredients that improve your hair and are based heavily in organics!
I absolutely adore the staff here. You won’t find a perkier, smiling, or more energetic personality than Juli at the front desk. All of the front desk gals are great!
I get compliments on my hair often, and I will always refer them to Cutting Lounge. You won’t be disappointed!

Just walked in here due to the wonderful reviews. Katherine said they didn’t have room in the schedule to get me in. I asked if I could use the restroom and she shook her head and said «no»…I said, «really?»…again she said «no» and I told her I wouldn’t be coming back and she said «it doesn’t bother me. «RUDE!!!

I am so happy I have found Katherine and the Cutting Lounge. She’s been taking care of my hair for the last 9 months, and my hair is healthier than it ever has been. Her haircuts are great. I dye my medium brown hair to a violet darkest brown. Whenever I got my hair colored at other salons or at home, my dyed hair would turn brassy or orange in between dye jobs … with Katherine, it just seems to fade to my natural color. And Katherine is such a neat gal.
Teresa is as cute as button. Just had my hair permed by her. She was meticulous with the rollers. I’m sure she got tired … but she never showed it, and she took the same care and attention to detail throughout.
Love the natural products. Love the salon’s location and ambiance. One of these days, I’ll have to dine at the neighboring A Burger Place — I’ve heard it’s to die for.

I flew into town for a wedding and wanted a shampoo/​style. Joshua did an EXCELLENT job! Very knowledgeable about all the products used and very pleasant to chat with. Highly recommended!

I live in Everett and always thought to get the perfect haircut, you had to drive to Seattle, pay outrageous amounts for parking, go to a salon with lots of drama where I never felt I fit in anyway, and hand over $ 100 when it was all over. After too many years of doing just that, but NOT leaving with the perfect haircut, I thought I’d try a local salon instead. I did a lot of research on Unilocal and checked out salon websites. Nothing really felt right until I came upon the Cutting Lounge, and specifically Katherine Breen, the owner. And one of the best parts was that her cozy salon was only 15 minutes away and had ample free parking. Her rate for a cut and style, especially considering her extensive experience in the industry, was more than fair and less than I’ve paid in the past, and I was even given a first-​visit discount! In talking with her, you can tell she’s passionate about what she does and the product line she uses, and she strives to educate her staff along those lines as well.
We chatted about my hair for a while first, and it was important for me to convey that I’m pretty low-​maintenance as far as my hair goes. Not a lot of products or tools, and all thumbs when it comes to styling. I needed a cut that I could just wash and let air dry and still look presentable. And that’s exactly what she delivered! I lost a few inches in length, which I wanted, and she cut it to maximize the natural wave in my hair. She only used one product, a styling foam. When she dried it, she showed me a technique that didn’t even require a brush but is so simple that even I can do it. My hair had so much fullness that I couldn’t believe it was really my hair! Product suggestions were made, but no one tried to give me a sales pitch on the way out, which I always used to hate at other salons. They just let the products speak for themselves (I did buy the styling foam because it worked so well, and do plan on purchasing shampoo and conditioner at some point because of the high quality eco-​friendly products). I definitely scheduled another appointment on the way out. The following day, I woke up to find my hair still had the same amazing fullness and didn’t feel weighed down by products. And the subsequent day, I still had the same results — amazing fullness and no greasy feeling. This has NEVER been the case after two full days with any haircut I’ve ever had or products I’ve used.
The moral of the story is: you don’t need to travel to Oz for what you seek, because chances are you can find hair happiness in your own back yard, if your back yard is in the Everett/​Mukilteo area! Thank you, Katherine and the Cutting Lounge!

I’ll just say Katherine is great! She is always very informative and full of suggestions of how to handle your hair. The price is a little expensive for what I’m used to for a men’s haircut (which is the only reason this isn’t 5 stars), but I know I’m getting what I paid for. She can get busy so definitely plan ahead when making an appointment.
