Best breakfast spot in Muncie. Décor is not great and ambience is certainly lacking when you walk in the door. Place needs updating but don’t let it turn you away!!! Food is very good. Omelets are enormous. French toast and pancakes are great. They offer some other healthier items that you wouldn’t suspect either such as turkey sausage, egg white and egg beater options, gluten free pancakes, and their fresh fruit is actually… well…pretty fresh(compared to a Bob Evans fruit dish). Again I entertain a lot for my job at the local breakfast establishments and this one has the best food hands down.

The food is usually very good(besides the bacon), so I have no complaints there. The«small drink» is a little over the size of a Dixie cup and not worth the money. Service is usually fast, but they are understaffed and customers are more likely to be waiting for a table because none have been cleaned, not because the restaurant is full. This particular visit was full of complaining staff members. They stood by our table and complained about how much they hated working at Eva’s. It was very loud and very uncomfortable for us as customers. They then proceeded to take our salt and pepper as soon as we got our food because they«hadn’t cleaned them for a month.» It was very unsettling to hear as I had just put both on my eggs. They close at 3pm but started closing the restaurant at 1:45. They mopped under our table while we were sitting at it! We felt very rushed and hurried to finish our meal even though there was over an hour until the restaurant was closed. All in all, I would not recommend going here for breakfast. Better luck at IHOP or Sunshine.

Had breakfast here. Service was fast and friendly. It was pretty cold inside. I would recommend bringing a sweater or coat with you. Food was pretty good. I would return.

We had breakfast — and it was decent. Portions were generous, food was what I would expect from a diner. I like that it is not a chain, and our waitress was nice and attentive. But it was very run down(even for Muncie) and did not seem to be particularly clean.

If you come in early I can guarantee you great service for a fair price! The food is incredible they cater to a vast crowd I had the gyro skillet as my first meal it was perfect! The server said it was her first day, and she didn’t miss a beat! Thanks Eva’s for giving me a great breakfast and a full belly!!!

I would rather eat at a local or mom & pop place over a chaon restaurant any day. So, as we were cruisin around Muncie, we saw Eva’s and thought we’d give it a shot. It was Memorial Day and they were open; yay. I’m not sure where to start so perhaps I’ll do this with bullet points. * We were seated right away; they had a table ready for us and waiting before we even made it through the front door. * Our server was fine… A little sassy and scary but she was ok. * Our 6 year old was given a kid’s menu… The kind with activities and a coloring page. When she politely asked for some crayons, she was told, «Sorry. We don’t have crayons. We took them away.» Thanks for getting the kid’s hopes up. They did offer her an ink own, though. * When we placed our order, it was a bit odd when I ordered the chicken salad panini that the gal said«hm. That sounds odd. I dont even know what that is. No ones ever ordered that before.» I should’ve known better. * Our daughter ordered a grilled cheese with a side of applesauce and a chocolate milk. The milk came out in the tiniest cup ever… Like, a little bigger than Dixie cup size, but that was on because she didn’t like it enough to drink it all, anyway. * Our server brought out our daughter’s apple sauce first. It was a snack pack. A prepackaged cup of applesauce. Ooookay… But what ticked me off was that after she started eating it, we saw that it was expired. FOURMONTHSEXPIRED! Now, I know how food works. It probably would’ve been fine, but it’s my kid and I don’t want her eating that crap. * My husband ordered the Eva’s Benny Breakfast; basically, biscuits and gravy with egg and sausage all piled up. Sure looked gross to me, but he Saud it was good. * Don’t even think of substituting anything. There is a fee for every single substitution. Every one! * My «panini» was not a panini. It was chicken salad, which tasted and looked like last week’s batch, on Texas toast. I was concerned for my G.I. status after trying it. It… Was not good. * The hours for the day stated that they were open until 3pm. We walked out at 2:30 and had to unlock the doors ourselves because we were already locked in and they couldn’t be bothered with letting us out. * The bill. Ok, we had a sandwich, the biscuits and gravy thing and a grilled cheese kid’s meal. Thirty bucks. Way too much for the quality and service. Will we be back? Nope. Not at all.

I understand that there’s not a lot of places to eat in Muncie but, I thought Eva’s service would be better than what my daughter and I received. Our waitress was scatter brained to say the least! It took forever just to get a cup of coffee. Then another forever to get cream and sugar. I’m all for local but, IHOP may be a better choice if your looking for a quick bite. The food wasn’t that great. My omelette was over done and my daughters pancakes were mushy. Not too good!

Recently visited Muncie to see some old friends and grabbed a quick bite to eat here. It was pretty busy, as you would expect a place like this to be on a Saturday morning, but not busy enough to justify what happened. See, I have come to realize that this smaller, non-chain breakfast joints are usually the way to go. They have good service and breakfast food is pretty hard to mess up. I went with a breakfast classic, the biscuits and gravy. Seeing as I was especially hungry, I added a side order of bacon. About twenty minutes later, our party was given food. My biscuits and gravy came, but no sign of bacon. I politely reminded the server and she apologized. Another 20 minutes passed and she brought our checks. Still no bacon. I had finished my meal and decided to forget about the bacon. It wasn’t listed on our check and I figured this was fair. One of the people I was there with, however, reminded her that my order of bacon had never come. She apologized again and took all of our checks. She returned with bacon and our receipts. The bacon was awful, but that’s not the issue I want to write about here. I noticed that the check we had been given and the receipt we were given to sign had different totals. SHEHADADDEDTHESIDEORDEROFBACONTOOURCHECKAFTERTHISEPICFAILUREOFSERVICE! All in all, I won’t be returning to Eva’s and I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing place. I wish they were opened longer hours because I can’t get enough. The prices are very reasonable and they give you nicely sized portions. I normally get their chicken fried steak and eggs meal with pancakes and either fruit or grits(which I mix over easy eggs in to). We’ve had three different servers when we’ve gone and each one did a great job. I highly recommend it

Eggs were overdone, we ordered over easy and they were hard. The sausage was overcooked. And the toast was stale. This was one of the worse breakfasts I have had in Muncie. And for what we received the price was outragious. Never will go back.

I never give 5 star ratings, but this takes place deserves it. A big plus is that they have a LOT of vegetarian options for all meals and almost everything comes standard with a choice of hash browns, grits or fruit AND either pancakes, french toast or toast, all of which are amazing and great portions. All of their omelettes are made with 5 eggs(as opposed to 3 at Sunshine Café) and the frittatas take up the entire plate and are filled with fresh ingredients. I can’t say enough great things about the food and the service. They also have an outdoor dining area. If you’re in Muncie, check this place out. I highly recommend it over Sunshine. It’s less college students and more locals, larger portions and cheaper prices. CAN’T LOSE!

It’s local and that’s a great positive. The food was good, an ample portion was served. I ordered the eggs and corned beef hash. Food arrived quickly and was prepared correctly. It wasn’t fantastic but it wasn’t bad… hence the 3 stars. Service was good at first, then trailed off. Worthy of another visit.

Soda tasted like seltzer water, bad service waitress was ditsy. Food was decent but I was not impressed at all. The fry’s were good though.

It’s pretty good. They are kid friendly. Sometimes the lines are insane, but you can usually get a table. The pancakes and french toast are very good. Friend loved the omelettes and gets one every time– they are really huge. The hash brown potatoes usually have a nice crunch to them. Bacon is perfectly cooked.

Best breakfast place in Muncie. Not a big chain like IHOP and Bob Evans with good prices and consistently great service. Their coffee is always fresh and even when they’re are busy they operate smoothly. Their spinach frittata is in my top ten local food items, so make sure and try one. Their Hawaiian waffles are pretty good too and they aren’t stingy with the fruit and nuts like some other places. Convenient location and plenty of parking makes this a must stop in Muncie.

Glad to find a breakfast place that isn’t Ihop and is within walking/biking distance of downtown and the farmer’s market. Food was fresh, fast, and good. And the portions are enormous. The best part may be the décor. Walking inside you feel like you’ve entered the 1950s… in Miami.

Grandma was raving about the portion sizes and pancakes here and insisted we have breakfast with her. The pancakes were fantastic and the portions were large. The server was polite and attentive. The omelet the bf ordered was easily enough for two to share. Unfortunately, half way through my meal, I did find a hair under a pancake. I mean, it happens, but I seriously had to choke back vomit. So disgusting. The food was decent, so I wouldn’t write off the place based on a single hair, but please, enforce a hair net policy in your kitchen.

Great omelets! I have eaten here 7+ times and tried several breakfast combos — all were super and a lot for the reasonable prices. I’ve been to Eva’s place in Muncie twice in the«new» location on the west end of town and 5+ times after they moved back to the«original» location on Wheeling. Every visit has been great! Many people had told me how sizable the omelets were and they were right. I’ve also tried the crepes and breakfast skillet. It was all top-notch, especially for the price. True, they don’t give the food away for free, but for what you get(quality and quantity) it’s a great deal. For many Muncie folks, Bob Evans is the gold standard for eating out. I would put Eva’s two notches above breakfast at Bob’s. Not to knock Bob Evans, it’s good, too. But, Eva’s is a local treasure and not a chain. I’ve taken out-of-state visitors to Eva’s because of the flavorful food and low prices.(Yes, the prices are low, when you can split a breakfast with a spouse and still be full!) Also, I appreciated the big sign they put in the window on Veteran’s Day to salute those who served. I highly recommend Eva’s!

I love going to eva’s for breakfast. While the prices may be a little steep the portions are large and nothing beats eva’s pecan pancakes. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Sunday brunch.
