Nice little coffee shop. Not a lot of seating for busy Saturday mornings, but we got lucky and found a table! We had the Cinnamon Roll latte and a bagel with jalapeño cream cheese which was delicious. The windows are huge which allow for lots of natural lighting. Prices are a bit higher than I would like to pay since Ball State eats all of my money :-)

Best place in Muncie to get a cup of coffee when you want a coffeehouse experience. The coffee is great and the selection of baked goods was interesting. I had a café au lait accompanied by a pumpernickel bagel and thoroughly enjoyed each. Lots of natural light, and high ceilings make for an appealing sense of space, and the flowers on each table from a local florist are a welcoming touch. On the way out I grabbed a 50-cent refill of coffee to go!

I love the feel of the place. It has a wide open space with ample seating and lots of tall windows all around. I enjoy going there to read and drink tea. I must admit that my preference is for their tea more so than coffee, even though I’m a coffee lover, as I find the coffee to be on the light roast side. I roast my own coffee and I like it medium to darker, but that’s just personal preference. They seem to like the light, tea-like roasts in their coffee. Aside from that, I like the place. The friendly staff, the ambiance, tea offerings, and the pastries are great, and the music playing is usually very enjoyable. Overall, it’s a great place. I just wish they would consider doing some darker roasts along with their light ones.

We were just passing through, but I love to pick fun little places to stop, even if it takes us off the highway. We loved this little coffee joint in what appeared to be downtown Muncie. The baristas were friendly and hip.

Muncie, IN: Genuine mocha latte(my words)! I felt like I was just transported back to the Northwest! This independent coffee house was rejuvenating, a comfortable place serving vitalizing espresso drinks, along with pourovers and a selection of unique specialty coffee drinks(see photo of menu). There are in house baked wheat flour pastries, along with sourced gluten free and vegan goodies. The setting was very pleasant, with almost a dozen small or tall tables, and a couch sitting area. Free, secure wifi is available, along with scattered charging outlets. My 20oz iced, almond milk mocha, with standard 2 shots was just right. The breakfast cookie was paired well too! This was my first visit yet I felt as if I’ve been visiting for some time and look forward to returning soon.

Absolutely love the coffee, cupcakes, atmosphere, and service. If you show up and feel confused by the extensive menu, don’t worry – the baristas always make very helpful and friendly suggestions. It’s surprisingly down to earth considering how beautiful the space is and how thoughtfully prepared the drinks and food are.

This is a great coffee shop to sit at and get some work done or to meet up with friends. They have a good selection of teas and delicious lattes! The staff is friendly and educated on their coffee selection. It’s great have another coffee shop in town, as well! I definitely suggest checking this place out of you haven’t!

I was there when they opened, I am thrilled to return a few days past the shop’s first anniversary in business, and I congratulate The Caffeinery on being a high quality, consistently bright spot in Downtown Muncie on all my visits in between. You can get a cup of Joe anywhere in town, many of those spots offer a place to sit. Most serve food with coffee as an obvious option. And then there is Seattle’s most infamous coffee chain. Beyond the others, The Caffeinery stands tall. They do fine coffee and tea, they do it right, and they provide a superb space to enjoy it in. Aside from aesthetics and personal service– which matter to me in specialty shops, and this joint certainly has that covered– my favorite part of visiting is the diversity of offerings I can explore with a bit of time. I have been disappointed in the product sometimes if I go in and ask for a quick cup to go. Never bad, but not always great. When I allow myself some time to relax in the shop, ask the staff for recommendations and allow them to have some fun preparing my drink… bingo. A little time and an extra buck or two for them to brew me a nice single origin or specialty cup makes all the difference. Bring a book or a friend, slow down, and do coffee right Downtown. As for snacks– don’t expect lunch unless you’re fortunate enough to show up when fresh soup is available– the bagels are proper and straight from NYC(really, they are shipped in from the City) and you will find decent pastries. If you want a meal, head a block North or West for Casa or Barn. As for coffee… unless you’re after 99¢ Joe, THIS is the joint. Stop in, slow down, enjoy a decent cup and discover that Downtown offers so much more than Muncie Gras.

Been a dozen or so times. Always get whatever single origin they have for the day(totally different coffee experience) and maybe a breakfast pasty. Both are excellent and unlike anything else in Muncie. I dig the music and ambiance, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. So glad to see a place like this downtown!

I went into the Caffeinery not really knowing what to expect. I’d heard that it was a pretty cool place, so I went to check it out for myself. Upon arriving, I noticed the selection of lattes were very unique and that caught my attention. I ordered a Butterfinger Latte and it was seriously one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. It was a little pricey, but not terribly expensive; especially compared to some other coffee shops. The service was great and the barista who took my order was very friendly. The atmosphere was comfortable and cozy. Definitely recommend checking this unique coffee shop out. Totally worth it!

This is my second time trying this place. Both times I am not impress. The first time the peach tea was okay but left a weird after taste. The cupcake I got was dry and it seemed it wasn’t fully mixed well. This time I got a caramel apple latte. It had no flavor to it. What is the point to get a flavor coffee if it tastes like a regular latte. At least it was hot.

Everything you could want in a coffee shop and more! My wife and I were in Muncie for Thanksgiving, so we finally had a chance to visit the Caffeinery. Our first experience was a great one. The house brew I ordered was delicious and unique and the s’more latte my wife got was tasty as well. I love the open atmosphere and cheerful, yet relaxed atmosphere. Full disclosure, I have known the owner for a long time, but my review would’ve been the same regardless. We will definitely be making this a regular stop when we are in town! Best wishes for your continued success!

They have the best mochas I’ve ever tried. It I made with a premium chocolate that is rich and wonderful. The owners have filled a missing spot in downtown Muncie. The atmosphere is warm and inviting.

I’ve gotta say, the pumpkin chocolate chip cupcake was really good — but $ 3.75? That’s Indianapolis prices! The ambiance is pretty good here – lots of light. The menu and coffees are good, too. Best of all, the place always seems to be full of cute girls.(Seriously, there were like 15 people in there and I was the only guy.) I wish the hours were a bit more extensive.

Cute! Great selection of coffee, espresso drinks, and baked goods. My macchiato was excellent. Local vegan business«Sea Salt and Cinnamon» sells vegan cupcakes, check them out in the display — delicious! Free wifi, plenty of seating, lots of natural light. I’ll be back to study, soon.

Muncie finally gets a serious coffee shop! As a hopeless coffee obsessive(I roast my own beans, have a burr grinder at home, and brew by weight using my Aeropress), I’ve been left to my own devices for a long time, so when I learned of The Caffeinery’s opening, I was cautiously optimistic. Thankfully, it seems like the third wave of coffee has finally hit Muncie. First, a little background: for the longest time, the only available coffee options here were Starbucks and… Starbucks. I’m not so proud that I won’t grab a latte or a drip coffee smothered in cream from them when I’m in a rush, but it’s not really a destination for me. The Caffeinery, on the other hand, does it all: good espresso(check the La Marzocco FB/80 and small arsenal of burr grinders behind the counter), quick drip coffee if you need it, and a pourover bar with a variety of single-origin beans if you can wait for your cup. I’ve only been on their grand opening, but the ristretto and regular espressos I had that morning were both wonderful. They’ve since switched to Intelligentsia Black Cat beans for their espresso, so I would expect that any espresso or espresso-based drink is even better now. The space is huge and airy, with generous seating and views of downtown from the extensive windows. If you live in Muncie and care about coffee, you owe it to yourself to give The Caffeinery a visit.
