Guy Personal Defense

My best friend and I went to Guys carry permit class Sunday and I would just like to say that I was very impressed with his presentation. There’s more to carrying than I ever imagined and Tim went along at a good pace but made sure everyone was understanding his message and the law. The O.K. Corral gun range was a 30 minute drive to the country but he had easy to follow directions for everyone and most folks stopped and grabbed a quick bite to eat on the way to range. (Snacks were provided during breaks so some went straight to the range). I had brought a 357 to the range to use but several of my friends had said that since it was such a big gun I would want to test with a smaller gun so I used one of the 22s that Tim provided. It was a nice gun with not nearly the kick that my 357 had and after 50 rounds was glad I used his 22. I had practice shot with my husband before but had never loaded or unloaded a gun. I was very nervous about loading and unloading the gun. The instructor that was helping Tim Sunday was very patient as he helped me become familiar with the gun and by the end of 50 rounds I was fairly comfortable with that part of it. I’m very glad I «bit the bullet» and took the class. Oh and the gun range is outside so dress for the cold and wind. He does bring wood for a fire pit if it’s cold and hand warmers.

I can’t say enough good things about Tim Guy and his crew! My wife and I attended one of his carry permit classes and came away at the end of the day extremely impressed. There are a lot of instructors that you hear about that like to either badmouth the competition during your class time or are just rude and obnoxious. Tim and his folks are extremely professional and go above and beyond to make sure that everyone has a good experience regardless of what your skill level is. Even though the class that I attended was rather large (about 50), he still managed to give you that feeling like it was almost a one-​on-​one type of situation. He keeps things moving, on point, and packed full of info.

Had a good and informative class with Guy. Definitely would recommend if you need your handgun permit or for further training.
