I would recommend the smoked turkey! It is delicious. The trimmings are good too, baked beans are delicious. No sweet potato fries but still a good restaurant. Will be going back when I am back in town.

Mr. Jim’s Deluxe Combo was the move. Great variety of meats, all of which were extremely tender. Would come back just for the cheese muffin appetizers. Great service. Would highly recommend to a friend.

Before I start I should add that my fiancée wanted me to give them a 4 and half star ;) We LOVED this place. The inside is really nicely done… clean, comfy seats, fun music playing, beautiful bar area. We are from Chicago and were so impressed that we may make a trip back through Murfreesboro just to stop here again. The pulled pork sandwich was on the sweeter side which is exactly what I like while my fiancée had the Carolina style pork(more vinegar). Collard greens, sweet potato casserole, and the best Mac n cheese I’ve had in years but to top it off they make their Long Island Ice teas from scratch(not a mix). We finished with the banana pudding which I thought was just okay. From what I could tell it’s a scratch kitchen. Take home some of the seasoning mix for burgers and steaks which they sell for 3.99. The reason for 4 and not 5 is I thought our server had no personality and was inattentive. He only walked by once to check on us. It was actually the girl at the host stand who redeemed the staff. Halfway through our meal she stopped by and said«pretty good bbq huh?» With a big smile. Overall it was a great experience we will be back!

Enjoyed the 3-meat combo with baby back ribs, beef brisket, and Carolina-style pulled pork. Side dish included a side salad with honey mustard dressing and the sweet potato casserole. The honey mustard dressing uses real honey, as the dressing was thicker than most other honey mustard dressings. The sweet potato casserole is really a dessert dish, as it is sweet, and delicious. Now, for the barbecue. The beef brisket was thinly cut, with that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The ribs were cooked, but not to the fall-off-the-bone level. Although, they were tasty. The pulled pork had the expected vinegar-hinted flavor, as expected for it being Carolina-style. Overall, a great place to eat. I just wish that I had remembered to take a picture before diving into the plate! Many of the other photos do justice to the food. I did have to request the free biscuits, so remember to ask, just in case.

Always great food and service. Most people don’t realize the bulk of their menu is Gluten-free too. Check to go orders before you leave. We’ve had a few missing or wrong items on occasion.

This restaurant has the worst service ever! Every time I come here we end up waiting for 20 minutes for a table, even though there are 10+ open tables! They always claim they do not have enough staff scheduled. The worst part is there never appears to be anyone in charge and directing how to resolve this problem. I would say this is one of the worst managed places I have been to, and worked in many restaurants in the past. What is the most unfortunate is their food is really good, so we keep giving them another try, hoping things will be better and they never are!

Great food and great service. Had the pulled pork on sourdough bread with mashed potatoes, gravy, and coleslaw.

This Jim N Nick’s location has always been consistently good. Most recently, we had the ribs. Specifically, the baby back ribs. They were cooked perfectly; a little spice was added by the chef and the meat fell off of the bone. Two of us split the rack and still had about 5 ribs left to take home and enjoy later. The special side of the day was pinto beans. The onions in the dish give them a little more flavor and they added to the quality of the meal. Another of my favorites is the Pig in the Garden Salad. The pork is always very good. It is moist and goes great with a salad. I usually add the house BBQ sauce instead of salad dressing. If really hungry, the pork sandwich with french fries is always a good bet. The french fries have always been delicious. I have not asked but I assume they are not frozen but made in house. The flavor is always good and better than most restaurants. Several reviewers have mentioned the cheese biscuits. I think they have gotten sweeter over the years; probably the preference of many diners. In any event, they are very good. They are generally served at the start of the meal. Be careful; it is possible to fill up on these cheese biscuits with the result that you may not fully enjoy the meal you are there to enjoy. This location gets very busy, as do many of their other locations. The service has always been good, despite the rush of people, even though there may be a small waiting time. Worth trying when in Mufreesboro, TN

Had catered lunch for a meeting in Murfreesboro. Very good BBQ. Not dry at all. Very flavorful. My only problem is they didn’t label the sauce containers. So the entire class doused our sandwiches in hot bbq sauce without knowing it. Surprise!!! Not too bad, but my portion control would have been different. Nice cheese corn muffins and the sweet tea was very good. Would eat at the restaurant next time.

Extremely spare with the servings for the price, I don’t find anything about Jim n Nicks impressive or unique or even delicious. The only thing I like here is their sweet corn muffins. Service is also seemingly nowhere to be found. I’m not high maintenance, but when I go 15+ minutes with an empty glass, I’m going to feel something’s amiss. This is not the first unfavorable experience I’ve had with Jim n Nicks but will certainly be my last. Much better BBQ to be found in Nashville.

It’s seems the quality has varied over the past couple of years, but recently it’s on an upswing! I usually get the brisket and hot links. In the past, the brisket has been extremely thin and dried out, but the past few times that I have ordered it, the portions are better, it’s sliced just right and cooked perfectly. It’s an extra bonus when you’re lucky enough to get a burnt end(the best part)! The hot links have always been great, but the star of the show is the bread! It’s a sweet cheesy bit of heaven that just melts in your mouth. I have been known to swing through the drive-thru just to grab a dozen of them to take somewhere, yet they never seem to make it!

When my cousin told me that she wanted to try out this place, I was so excited because I thought that I hadn’t been before. However, when I looked at the menu, it looked all too familiar. So since I’ve been a couple of times, I think I’ll write a review. I’m not going to say that this is the best BBQ place that I’ve been to because I haven’t been to many BBQ places. I will say that it’s not the best BBQ that I’ve eaten. Good BBQ is difficult to find so I’ll keep looking. So, the first time that I came to this restaurant was during my visit to Memphis a few years ago. I ended up finding this place on Unilocal and decided to try it out because of the great reviews. I ordered the Ribs, Mac and Cheese, and Green Beans. My friend ordered the Ribs, Greens, and Sweet Potatoes. I was a little disappointed with the ribs because they weren’t tender enough and they seemed fatty. The sides were pretty good, but I don’t remember specifics about each one. My friend was very pleased with his food though. I’m just a little picky when it comes to certain food items like BBQ. During my second visit, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans. This was surprisingly delicious. It was served on a toasted, buttered bun. I wasn’t able to determine what kind of bread it was served on, but if I had to guess, I would say potato bread or yeast roll. The baked beans were delicious as well. This is a must try! Just a note: Their BBQ Sauce is served at the table so that you can add as much or as little as you’d like on your food. They have a couple different flavors. I like the sweet and spicy BBQ. The BBQ Sauce is a little on the thin side, but not too runny.

Went here late at night with the family for dinner. Food was good but the price made it not with it. Would not come here again. Service was nice and send like a good place to take a family with kids. I ordered the double decker which is the demon love child of a big Mac and the true BBQ. I enjoyed the sandwich(comes Auth puked pork and brisket with 3 buns), but the buns were soggy with bbq sauce by the time I was halfway done with my sandwich. Collard greens there are excellent, bbq beans taste like they come from a can and the bbq chips were bland at best. Spare ribs were good but overpriced.

I have been to a few different Jim and nicks locations. They were very friendly here. Their mac and cheese and cheese roll are always amazing. My pulled chicken was a little on the cold side and the forget my sause. However there are 2 sauce options at the table.

We have been wanting some good tn bbq for the last few years now. Every time we have come out this way to visit family we just didn’t get the chance to, but this time we made it a point and here is the place we went. It was on our way from tulsa to cleveland and it has a large lot right next to it so we could park our rv. First they brought out cheese muffins and they were so fantastic that my boys basically filled up on them and could barely eat their meals. The kids chicken and fries were really good. Chicken was juicy and tender. The kids ribs were even better and the portion was huge! We got the brisket and pulled pork baked potato with a small order of ribs. Everything was so good. The baked potato was enough to feed us all. The cole slaw was probably the best I have ever had. Our server was great and gave us a good recommendation on a local iba brew that was fantastic. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we come out this way again.

Wanted a good BBQ place for Father’s Day. In town just for the night before we drive east. Many places were closed but I found this one on Unilocal and we decided to give it a shot. Did not disappoint! Great price for what you get. Had the brisket sandwich which was incredibly tender. Muffins were fantastic. Baked beans were unique and had a nice spice than most. Wife had ham which she was very pleased with. She ordered a lemonade which was freshly made and sweetened perfectly. Kids were very happy with their food as well. Server Nick did a great job and was very attentive and detail oriented. Glad we found this place and it was a great way to end Father’s Day.

The Jim N Nick’s BBQ chain is my favorite national BBQ chain thanks in no small part to their delicious biscuits. You get your dessert before the meal and in unlimited quantities with those things! This is the Murfreesboro branch. I stopped by with my fiancée on the way to Atlanta for dinner. We just wanted a good BBQ option for dinner close to the interstate and while we usually try to stay local, we couldn’t resist the power of the biscuits. We were escorted to the heated porch area for dinner which is my main complaint. It was still cold out there even though the entire area was walled in and heat was on. They should try to address this for the comfort of their customers. All it would take is another 3 or 4 degrees and I would have been comfortable on this cold, rainy night. The food was good. i enjoyed the smoked cuban sandwich(although I wish it had real cuban-style bread) and spicy collards while she had the smoked turkey salad, which she enjoyed. Mostly, we indulged our biscuit craving while trying to stay a warm on the way down to Atlanta. Pros: The food is always enjoyable and the biscuits are phenomenal. Cons: Cold seating area made it uncomfortable to be there for longer than we needed to be. They should also try to liven up the wait staff. I know it’s a chain but the staff should seem enthusiastic about service and didn’t, really. Overall: Good to great food and a good option among the other chains. BISCUITS!
