The Coke and water were great! Seriously disappointing. The waitress was great but the food was on par with a michelina’s frozen meal. Actually that is being kind. I would buy a michelina’s before going back. We started with bruschetta a seemingly easy dish not to mess up. We were wrong. It was overly toasted white bread with a tomato mush on top. It tasted like the canned crushed tomatoes with basil you get from the grocery store. Not at all similar to the fresh flavors of traditional bruschetta. We then ordered the Milanos special with chicken and sausage, and the chicken Marsala. Both the chicken seemed to have been boiled and was a rubbery mess. No grill marks, no pan seared marks, but just a white clump of what was a least definitely chicken. The sausage was more like cut up hot dogs. But hey, the Coke was was as it should be, cold with the right amount of carbonation and the water came in a glass.

We have eaten there many times and it is always wonderful. The food is classic Italian just as I experienced while working in Italy. The service is the best I’ve seen in Murfreesboro. I would highly recommend Milano’s 2.

Unbelievably good food and cozy, warm atmosphere in family run place. They do fish incredibly well, don’t over salt, the service is punctual and friendly but not oppressive. Small enough menu to be targeted and great. Lunch and dinner equally amazing.

I have been here several times for dinner… always pleased. Grilled Chicken Tikka is my favorite, although everything I have tried has been good. Jack(owner) is very accommodating, as are sons Sam and Kareem. Lovely ‘old house’ setting’ and nice ambiance. One of the few nicest places to dine in Murfreesboro.

The ribeye. Was the best perfect. Service was outstanding. Serve wine now. I understand getting to open full service bar.

My family and I had a very pleasant lunch at Milano’s II. We are new to the area, and we were looking for something pleasant but family friendly for Sunday brunch. Milano’s fit the bill. Excellent lunch portions(and lunch prices on a Sunday!) from a menu with all the Italian standards, plus steaks and grilled entrées. My wife had an excellent Eggplant Parmigiana. The eggplant was baked, not fried, thus it wasn’t swimming in grease as at some places; my Chicken Piccata was terrific, and my son ordered an Italian steak sandwich. Very reasonable prices. Pleasant atmosphere in a former mansion with attentive service. My family and I will definitely return to this fun restaurant.

Not bad flavor. I had the appetizer portion of calamari as well as a appetizer portion of cheese tortellini for dinner. The flavors are ok. Not the best sauce taste for the tortellini but not bad either. The calamari was crispy but seemed a little over cooked. Lots of batter taste verses the actual squid. Portion sizes were good and price is not bad. I will try again sometime. Just wish they had veal dishes.

This was my 2nd visit to Milano II& I will be coming back on a regular basis! The Smoked Salmon Bruschetta melts in your mouth. The Angel Hair Pomadoro con Pesto & chicken was fresh & delicious! We dined on the wide, front porch, which was beautiful. Our server, Karim, made excellent recommendations & provided impeccable service. The Maitre’D checked on us throughout the meal & went out of his way to ensure a romantic & enjoyable experience! We are already looking forward to returning!

This is a charming restaurant in a beautiful old house off the Murfreesboro town square. The menu has wonderful choices that are very well prepared. The rack of lamb is especially good, but all the other entrees we tried were also delicious. The dessert choices are spectacular, if you still have room. Our waitress Brittany was very friendly and helpful.

Food was great and the service excellent. Had baba gunoush and hummus apps… good stuff. For lunch had a smoke salmon sandwich and it was nice… the veggies are seasoned perfectly. Also had the chicken alfredo… it was ok… couldve used some garlic but still good. Will definitly return.

My husband suggested this place for Valentine’s Day. We had to go a few days early, as that was the only night we could arrange babysitting. He made a reservation for 7pm. We arrived a few minutes early only to find the place deserted. I was immediately concerned. There was no one at the host stand nor was there a trace of a server or a manager. We saw a table of three eating awkwardly in silence by the fireplace. It was eerie. A young man finally arrived and seated us, awkwardly laughing a little bit about us being able to «have our pick of seats.» We opted to sit near the fireplace, too, so as to feel less like we were characters in a Gothic novel. Our server arrived and was very friendly. I kept waiting for someone to say something about how dead the place was. She, in fact, acted like she was very busy. We ordered drinks and she came back with those and bread in fairly good time. The bread tasted like a pre-wrapped baguette from Kroger that had been thrown into the oven for a couple of minutes. My husband raved about it, but much as I love the guy, he does not have a discerning palette whatsoever, so this should mean nothing to you. He has been eating two-week-old leftover turkey burgers that he made in bulk for days now after I’ve told him to stop repeatedly. There were still 3 burgers left this afternoon, so I quietly fed them to the dog to save my poor husband from food poisoning. He was upset, claiming that I’d wasted«perfectly good meat.» My husband ordered Milano’s Favorite and I ordered chicken parmesan. We waited for our house salads and enjoyed the Frank Sinatra music. I love Frank Sinatra, but the boisterousness of the music felt a little comical in contrast to the quiet, cold restaurant. At one point, a man in an apron(I’m thinking the owner? A manager? Maybe the cook? Maybe some combination of all of these?) wandered over to the front door and stared out at the road for a minute, as if willing customers to come. Our salads were delicious. Well, actually, the greens were lackluster(and, if I recall, not much more than greens), but the house dressing was fantastic. It gave me great hope for the meal to come. Meanwhile, our server was scarcely to be found – we only got our beverages refreshed once for the duration of the meal. When she finally brought our entrees, she offered to bring us more bread. My husband agreed and she hurried away. I was excited to try the chicken parmesan as it had been recommended to me by a friend. I have no idea why. It tasted like someone had thrown a microwaved grilled chicken breast on top of a plate of Fazoli’s linguine and then topped it all with lukewarm Ragu. It was awful. The red potatoes on the side, however, were delicious. I ate them with abandon to make up for the sorrowful chicken parmesan. My husband raved about Milano’s Favorite. We were almost done with our entrees when our server finally came back with bread, gingerly admitting she’d forgotten about it. Again, we were her only table. She disappeared again after that and we were left waiting for at least ten minutes after we were ready for the check. For a long time, there was no sign of any human being at all. Finally, we spotted the young man who had served the other table, refilling sugar packets at the unused tables. We asked him for our check and he kindly offered to go notify our server. In time, she arrived and we paid. I asked for a to-go box for my barely-eaten meal, assuming my husband would appreciate having leftovers for lunch the next day, what with his two-week-old bulk meat gone. Though I found the evening amusing(though not in an intentional way), I will unfortunately not be returning to Milano’s. I’m sad to be unable to support an independent restaurant in Murfreesboro(one of the main reasons we wanted to try it in the first place), but the quality of the food is just not there.

They were out of filet mignon. Had to order a N.Y. can’t out over cooked. Sent it back, can’t out as a ribeye… Not my idea of Valentine’s day! Everything else was good. My boyfriend love the lasagna!

OK, when Jack’s not around, Milano’s suffers. We were there on a Tuesday night for my Mom’s birthday, and it must have been Jack’s night off. For starters, our waitress seemed clearly flustered, and at times annoyed. She must have been new. She got the orders right, and was pleasant enough, but she seemed to have trouble«keeping up.» Our party of 6 arrived in two groups of three, and the first arrived with wine(Milano’s is still BYOB). We got three wine glasses, but a request for three more when the rest of the party arrived took too long. The biggest problem was that my Mom ordered the Linguine with Pesto, and when the orders arrived, hers was last, and it was Linguine with Meat Sauce. Mistakes happen, and I get that, having worked in restaurants myself. But then things took a turn for the worse. The waitress acknowledged the error, and quickly took the mistake back. She returned as promptly as could be expected, but what she presented was clearly not Linguine with Pesto. It looked like someone had just taken a plate of linguine and sprinkled some parsley on it. No pine nuts, no parmesan, nothing that looked like basil. This was not even a deconstructed pesto. I have a hard time understanding this. There are no less than two entrees on the menu with pesto sauce. I make pesto at home, and it is not hard to make. It also keeps well, so it’s clearly something that can be prepped ahead of time. You boil some noodles, toss them in with the sauce and you call it done. How could the kitchen have gotten something so simple so wrong, especially when it’s a regular menu item? Fortunately Mom’s a light eater and she was satisfied with the appetizers we had shared, which were very good — a Bruschetta and a Smoked Salmon dish — and they presented her with a nice cake that was layered with red velvet and white cake, gratis. They took her entrée off the bill. Everybody else’s meals were good. But I am definitely puzzled and disappointed. This was a no-brainer that Milano’s messed up. ..

We were so pleasantly surprised that there was so much seating available at 12:15, and several parking spaces right in front! Further surprised that the restaurant had several tables available inside. Astounded, however, that we never got waited on except that the hostess brought us beverages. We finally walked out about 15 or 20 minutes later without having been further acknowledged. We were seated in a room with a group of a dozen people, but they left and we still never got acknowledged. Our first experience here was reasonably favorable but we were looking forward to seeing a few more kinks worked out before posting a review. Weeks later, these folks are going in the wrong direction. We’ll try them again next year… if they’re still around then.

Sadly, a big disappointment. This is from two visits. Our group meets biweekly, and we had our second and last visit last night. I ordered Chicken Marsala. I got chicken. I was not aware I was served the wrong dish. When the waiter brought the bill and told me it was classic chicken, I said, «i am sorry, but I ordered Chicken Marsala.(mystery solved). To which he informed me that I did NOT order Chicken Marsala, and had even pointed on the menu what I ordered. One of our party verified to him what I ordered. He VEHEMENTLY insisted that he made no mistake. I had to demand to see the manager. Later, it came out that one in our group had my order; the waiter had switched our orders. However, I was really taken back at the outcome. While the salad dressiing and bread were both quite good, the sauce for the entire left me to think Fazolli would be better, and my vegtebles were rather bland. A real shame, as the quaint atmosphere is rather nice. However, our group as a whole were rather disappointed. While I wish them well, I can honestly see no reason to return. PS, I gave one star as I HAD to give a star rating to post.

An old favorite in the Boro gets resurrected. Still working out a kink or two, but pretty much picked up where it left off. Good, solid food. Had the Milano’s favorite, Italian sausage and chicken in a spicy Alfredo sauce. I mean, have you ever been disappointed in an Alfredo? Liquor license is not in place(yet), so bring your own wine for a $ 5 corkage. In chain-dominated Murfreesboro, a welcome difference. It’s a great space that has struggled in the past. But I think they will be here for the long haul.
