ONU Salon

I will post my review here, the company website looks to be read only. The only positive about my experience is that I was not asked to pay for absolutely destroying my hair. I went in with a picture of MY OWN hair from the last time it was done so a very recent picture of myself, that should be easy enough to replicate. I ask for partial highlights to match my existing «just a touch up» My hair now looks like someone poured a bottle of Sun-​In from 1980 on the top.
Errors made include: over application of product causing a major bleed of color out of foils resulting in orange dots all over my head. Bleach applied directly to my scalp causing sores. Only using a 5 volume peroxide casing major brassiness. Sloppy application process.
I guess the manager came over and looked at the horrible mess and offered to have a master stylist look at it but by that time I had been there over 3 hours and I lost all trust in the entire «experience». I am not asking for anything because I was not ask to pay but I want to warn others about this salon because for the most part only positive reviews are posted about the salon. Make sure the person doing hair knows how to do foils. Maybe someone will read this that is responsible for education and this person will learn from this terrible mistake. I take my hair seriously and work to keep it nice this has been very disappointing.

I have only lived in the Boro for about six weeks and when it came time for a cut and freshening up my color, I was terrified and didn’t know where to turn. Back home, in Minnesota, I had the same stylist for over a decade. So I started reading reviews on Unilocal and ended up with an appointment at Onu Salon with Kaitlyn
I went in for my appointment filled with trepidation, but now that I am done and home I realize I shouldn’t have been worried in the least. Kaitlyn took the time to walk through what I want in terms of cut and color before doing a thing. She shared the price of my services with me before starting so there would be no surprises. And my new cut/​color is amazing.
The service at this Aveda salon is second to none… as soon as I walked in the door, I was offered something to drink. When rinsing out the dye and shampooing my hair I received a wonderful scalp massage and while waiting for the color to do its thing, I got a delightful hand massage. After she completed my haircut, Kaitlyn took the time to do a make-​up touch up for me at no charge… just part of the service they provide.
Needless to say, I have found my salon and my stylist… I won’t be going anywhere else.

If you have naturally curly hair, go see STEVIE! She has been doing my hair for over a year now and it has never been healthier. She gave me some new tips and tricks that have really helped my natural curl. She does my color, cut, and brows on each visit, and I trust her completely. When I had an important interview, she gave me several options to do at home to go with my outfit. It’s great to go and unwind from my busy work week knowing I am coming out looking great! Stevie knows what to do with naturally curly hair, which is not something everyone knows how to handle! Love her!!!

I’m not from Murfreesboro, so I have been skeptical ever since I moved to find a place that would do a great job with my hair and not cost me an arm and a leg. I found ONU Salon on Unilocal!and then checked out their website. I noticed they have a $ 20 gift certificate for new customers so I thought, why not, and there seemed to be some good reviews on their website.
I am SO glad I decided to come here. The customer service was fantastic! You get greeted at the door, they offer you a beverage, my stylist Brooklyn was super nice and gave me an amazing scalp massage as she was shampooing and conditioning my hair. I LOVE the Aveda products they use. Brooklyn was also great with listening to what I wanted to do with my hair, and she did a great job with giving me the sassy, layered cut I was looking for. Afterward she cut and styled my hair, she touched up my make-​up and added some lip gloss for final touches to add to my new look. All of this was for $ 30 with that gift certificate! Without the certificate, it would have been $ 50. After the great service I received, I have no reservations with coming back and spending the full amount. I would highly recommend ONU salon!

Edwin is amazing and the entire staff really understands amazing customer service! I’m always love my cut and color! They always answer my questions. They are also really great with scheduling. I’ve had to cancel and reschedule a couple of times and they always seem to go out of their way to help me reschedule.
