Burger, fries and shake was good but had to be one of the dirtiest places to eat in Murfreesboro. At 2:30 pm!!!

Horribly dirty and terrible service. How this place stays busy is beyond me. Won’t be back.

We got what we paid for: an awesome milkshake :) Can’t even judge the waitress because we never saw her… well she might have been the one who brought us water after the busboy took our order. (Bless her heart she looked like a deer caught in the headlights) I think that guy was the busboy but he was also doing the job of seating people, taking the orders and checking in to see if anything else was needed in lieu of some waitress who was busy but nowhere to be found. With a meal costing $ 3 – 5 I’m actually cool with all that and would totally go back

Rude customer service at drive thru… Not my fault u got the order wrong and I corrected it. Should I accept what you want to give me and not what I ordered? When I say thank u and u stare me down without saying anything you have a problem and shouldn’t be in customer service… Food was good.

I am not sure what anyone is complainning about. This place is like any place in murfreesboro. I’ve seen some pretty nasty bathrooms and tables at places that have 15 dollar menu items. However, this place I can feed my family of 4 for 23 dollars. You can not go anywhere and feed one person for a price like that after an overpriced soda. There are plenty of things to pick from and have a pretty nice milk shake menu. People can write what they want, but a full parking lot and standing room only speaks for itself most of the time. We will be back for sure.

If you have 30 minutes for drive through service, this place is for you. Very slow, disorganized, incompetent staff on duty at drive through. Very frustrating experience, to say the LEAST.

Food is good but that is the only positive thing I can say. Very slow, inattentive service. Have to ask repeatedly for drink refills and staff act as if you are bothering them. Multiple empty tables but no one being seated because the tables are dirty. Serving staff are wearing filthy dirty clothes i.e. food remnants, sweat stains. No silverware or napkins on table. Asked for silverware but did get any. Had to go and get out own. Not going back. Not worth it. Restaurant and service on downhill slide rapidly.

The shakes were good, but other than that it was a gross experience. My whole meal came out in every way I asked for it not to. No cherry please, still got a cherry. Asked for no onions or pickles on my sandwich, brought me my sandwich with onions and pickles on it. She asked do you want me to change it, after I had already been waiting 30+ min. I asked for cheese on my fries, no cheese and it looked like half of my fries had been eaten. So she brought me a side of cheese with her nasty finger prints all over it. Not once did she check on us or even bring our check. We had to get up ourselves and go to the front. And the manager wanted to just discount our shakes for the horrible service. She said that’s almost $ 8, did she forget it was happy hour? Ugh.
Seems like this place just keeps getting worse and worse. One waitress even had yellow sweat stains very apparent on her white work shirt. Just disgusting.

Where else can you get such a good deal for a burger meal at any time of the day? This is THE place to go and get a burger craving. I mean meals under $ 4 is a steal especially for high school and college kids.
It’s cheap and it’s good. My only complaint about this location is that it smells sort of awful. I don’t know how to explain it. It kinda smells like feet which sounds awful but it’s not that bad.

As far as Steak n’ Shakes go, this one is pretty solid. The food is always good and never have had problems with the service. They are frequently very busy, so sometimes you do have to wait for a bit to be seated, but it’s usually not too terribly bad.
The restaurant is always clean regardless of how busy they are. The only thing I would change is to offer a LARGE shake at the drive-​thru. Also, if you’re a fan of a good patty melt, give theirs a whirl. They have some of the best rye bread around!

Ya know, I never thought I would Unilocal review a Steak N’ Shake, I usually just eat at local family owned spots, but sometimes in the wee hours of the morning you kinda just gotta go with whatever is open. Enter Steak N’ Shake. Its pretty cut and dry what kind of place this is, you get what you get, greasy steak burger and fries, but man this place was just on point. The service was friendly, the food came out promptly and tasted as good as a Steak and Shake possibly could. I really just felt it necessary to congratulate these guys on a job well done.
Once again, this place is a fast food restaurant, I know that, they know that. They did a great job and I commend them.

Used to be good, I don’t know if it’s under new management but this place is just not good anymore. Takes way too long, dirty, food quality is bad… Just all around I would say avoid it and go to anywhere around it, there is plenty

Not much on the menu for vegetarians, but I guess that’s common in Murfreesboro… So I gave Steak N Shakes breakfast a try… and kind of wishing I hadn’t. I’ll stick to Waffle House, they’re cheaper and give you lots more food.

I have always loved Steak & Shake but last nights experience will make me think a little harder next time before I go there. Waited over an hour in the drive threw then after we got our food the order was messed up and my sandwich looks as if it was just thrown together. And to top it the gentlemen in drive thru, there was no apology basically didn’t say a word.

Beware: very few gluten free items. They are somewhat unaware about gluten. They had every accommodation they could– they cleaned the grill and the manager specially cooked our meat to make sure no cross contamination occurred. Maybe if I went back I would only get a milkshake.

Terrible service waited for 15 minutes after being seated for someone to take a drink order saw multiple employees wandering around looking lost not a great experience plus it smelled like a bunch of garbage in the restaurant.

We are a group of 15 and came in at around 9 pm. We were seated right away but waited for 20 minutes before getting the menu. There are several customers that came after us and they were given menu and served their food right away but we waited :-(. Service is so poor!!!

Just waited 25 minutes in the drive thru only to never move an inch. Went inside to try to get service and got laughed at when we mentioned how long we spent in the drive thru and were told «it’ll be that plus 10 more in here.»
Wtf.

Went in tonight to get my Steak and Shake fix. They were busy and needed to bus tables so we assumed we would have to wait. Waited over five minutes without a greeting or a «we will be right with you, we just need to clean off some tables.» Instead we were just stared at as employees passed us so we just left. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired it seems.
