Super 8 Murfreesboro

I had a very similar experience to the other reviewer below. We were stuck staying here because no other hotels in a 25 mile radius had rooms for the night as we passed through. The smoke smell was overwhelming as soon as we opened the door & left me sneezing and stuffed up for the entire stay, I didn’t even know «smoking» rooms were even an option these days! There were burn holes in the carpet and on the bedspread. Don’t even get me started on the walls! How do walls get so disgustingly dirty!?! And if they do get dirty, maybe someone could clean them?!? The clientele of this place also leaves much to be desired. Since your room opens up to the outside some of our «neighbors» were outside on the balcony openly discussing drugs. If there was any other option I would’ve swallowed the $ 100 we paid and gone ANYWHERE else. I even looked for earlier flights to see if we could get out earlier so we wouldn’t have to stay the night here.

We are required to give at least one star. You know that right?
This «hotel» was by far the most awful place I could have imagined sleeping. Traveling through TN to head home from Florida we were willing to stay in a hotel on blind Unilocal trust. We were proven wrong. How this establishment has achieved any more than one star is unreal.
The outside of the building and grounds were filthy. When checking in, the nice hotel employee explained that even he has been scammed by the scam artists who book the rooms for his hotel at the 800 number. That should have been my indicator of the level of business this is.
When I opened the door I was greeted by a dirty old smoke smell even though the room boasted non smoking. I walked around to look at the room before having my family come in from the car. After looking at the bed, which I do at every hotel we stay in, I found this bug between the top and fitted sheet.
The bathroom: dirty, missing a part off the bottom showing the rust and filth from previous occupants.
The door: sticky inside and out from who knows what substance.
The bed area: extra holes in the walls, some look like pictures had fallen some were totally unidentifiable.
Through the door we could hear the people next door ordering from jack in the box.
The sink area had water leaking from the faucet and rings from water damage.
The carpet was the dirtiest floor I have ever seen. Anywhere. Stains, snags, items on the floor, no evidence of ever having been cleaned ever.
Possibly the most unreal part was after having decided to leave and just lose the money we paid, seeing a woman in a hooded sweatshirt approach the door right next to the door where my kids would have been sleeping. She had her hood up, was clutching a bottle of some type of alcohol and knocked on the door and was pulled inside quickly with an abrupt door slam. Totally not sure what exactly was happening but I am certain it was unsavory.
We stayed in Murfreesboro with a friend’s brother and had a great breakfast this morning where we learned the police scanner called out to dispatch officers to the Super 8. Maybe they were able to help that lady.

Pros:
–Centrally located: Target, Starbucks, Babies R Us, food, food, more food!
–Not far from Nashville
–They serve breakfast (AKA frozen waffles)
–Clean
–Roomy
— Quiet
Cons:
— A little expensive for what you get.
— Breakfast includes quick items: frozen waffles etc.
— Some of the towels smelled like insect repellant

The nicest Super 8 I have ever stayed at. Microwave, refrigerator and TV mounted on the wall. Updated and modern.

Really awesome for the price. Clean & spacious room. Excellent value in this area.
We avoided staying in Nashville, because the hotel rooms were jacked up by $ 120+. So glad we did because this room was quite, inexpensive, and very high quality.
Recently refurbished, within the last 6 weeks.

I travel a ton around this country and stay at many different type hotels. I will say this is the BEST Super 8 I have ever stayed in! I am shocked that there are not other reviews for this hotel! The room has a leather sofa in the sitting area, microwave, fridge, flat screen tv on the wall. The bathroom is extremely clean, and mattresses appear to be new. There are many choices at this exit and street, but don’t knock this Super 8!
