Great food great prices looks a lot better since remodel but I always liked to watch them work.

We ordered carry-out for 3 people and brought it home. When we opened the bags of food to distribute there was plenty of confusion and lots of guesswork as to which sealed container of sauce went to which person as they were not labeled in any way. Some of the food was very dry and bland, some was very greasy, all of it was very overpriced. Portion sizes would have been fine at a lower price.

I wish I could eat more. I went for the buffet and discovered everything was spectacular. The service was wonderful. I will be back.

I don’t see how this place stays open. The dining area, tables, and bathrooms are dirty. The food is very limited and it all looks the same runny consistency in different colors. The garlic naan was good, but the food just isn’t worth the price.

The best Indian food around! It’s been there for ever and we would go in college and now moved our family back here and go all the time. Same great taste, same great family owned business and same amazing food! We love Sitars in Nashville and it tastes the same!

First time here last week– Awesome Indian food! The buffet has an incredible selection, and I honestly could not pick a favorite item. The service was great, and I’m headed back tonight!

Ordered online and had it delivered. Completely over priced and delivery guy took almost 1.5 hours and was so rude when he arrived! First off he WALKED into my apt when I opened the door and then wouldn’t leave because he thought I wasn’t tipping him. Tried to explain I paid and tipped online but don’t think he understood because he kept standing w/his hand held out glaring at me. I was so uncomfortable. The food was okay, but a little bland for my taste. Definitely not worth the cost!

Excellent food at a very reasonable price. They also have the buffet in the evenings, which is very unusual.

I can’t say enough about how amazing this place is. EVERYTHING is so delicious! We had the buffet and even my 11 year old son enjoyed it. If you want authentic this is the place. The gentlemen who waited on us was top notch. Our glasses were never empty and his suggestions were spot on. We will be coming back. Don’t hesitate to try this gem.

This place has redone the interior and is much much nicer than before. The food here is excellent. It reminds me of the Indian food I used to eat when I lived in NYC. I also like how theres not only a lunch buffet but a dinner buffet too. You can also order from the menu if you prefer that.

Although this place is my first experience with Indian food it has kept me coming back for more. It’s pretty pricey for dinner, but well worth it. One trip thru the buffet line and you’ll have more than enough. Don’t let the aesthetics of the food fool you. It may resemble baby food, but the taste is far beyond anything you have ever had. And the fresh garlic bread is like your favorite syrup on top of your favorite sundae, and get some baklava to add the cherry on top. Mmmmmh, so good.

Stopped here on my way to Nashville, definitely surpassed my expectations. Overall very clean and super friendly service. If you love Indian food you need to stop by when in the boro!

They have buffet style selections. Lunch and dinner. You can dine in eat all you can or you can choose for take out. They give you a good reasonable amount for take out. I think their food very tasteful with lots of seasoning. The place not fancy but a decent spot.

OMG! Best Indian food ever. An all time family fav, you get great food and as much as you want. The tikka masala is very good and staff is helpful and friendly.

Very salty. It isn’t a real buffet as the food is served by an employee cafeteria style. The naan is fresh and very good… but I want more than good bread when dining.

So I’ve been coming to Clay Pit for years when I’m in town and I was surprised to see they’ve remodeled since last visit! The buffet is far larger and they’ve increased the selection! Awesome taste and value as always. I’ll have to drive down more often!

I love Indian food and could eat it every day. A Pakistani friend of mine says he judges restaurants by their dal, and The Clay Pit makes creamy, spicy dal that is better than any I’ve every had, and certainly better than my attempts to make it at home. My favorite Indian dish is aloo gobi, and between that and the dal, I could really never eat anything else and be happy. The aloo gobi is a perfectly cooked combination of cauliflower and potatoes that I’ve never seen offered on their buffet but can be ordered as an entrée. It’s a small restaurant, but I’ve never had a problem getting a table, and the employees are very nice and willing to offer suggestions. It can be a bit pricey only because the items above are both typically offered as entrees, but if dal is on the buffet line, I’m able to order it as a side and save a few dollars. Have had other menu items and never been disappointed.

This is a nice choice in the sea of bland chain options in Murfreesboro. The dining room is really low-rent, very hole in the wall, and the menu is very short, but they had what I like plus a few more adventurous options. I got chicken saag and my husband got chicken korma, with rice and garlic naan. The main dishes were large and tasted great(no salt problems like previous reviewers have, and no lack of flavor even though we asked for very mild heat.) The naan was spectacular. The sweet tea was not what I expected — made with honey and may have been green instead of black but I liked it. The food came out slow but the service was apologetic and very attentive. I felt the price was a little high for two people but would have been just right, had we shared a main dish instead of getting two. We will definitely return when we next visit town.

Without many choices in this area, we drove a long way to try out this Indian place. Didn’t like the fact that the buffet was not open to the customer and was taken to our plate of by the waiter — lost all the fun of buffet where you can pick and choose yourselves. Let’s talk about the food then, really liked the saag paneer, the stable. Vegetable Korma was OK and the pepper with potato dish was perhaps the favorite. The other thing that I was not through about was that they had beer but not wine.
