In October 2014(over 1 year ago), I met with the owner, Joe Bechill, in order to purchase replacement windows and a patio door. Though his price was higher, I decided to support this local family business. The bottom line: I gave him a check for 50% of the cost, $ 3282, and never got the products/services. I was recently awarded a Default Judgement for FRAUD against this company. I don’t know if I’ll ever get my money back.

I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. As some of the previous reviews state, they will take your money and give you the run around every single time you try to call. We signed a contract for windows with Joe back in November 2014 and never received our windows. I have an entire list of the attempts to contact this organization, going to far as to have our lawyer send a letter. Since we were unable to have our windows installed, we processed a refund through our credit card company(having provided ample opportunities for them to return calls/emails). I’m honestly disgusted with the behavior of both Joe and Shauna as «business owners»(if you can even call them that with the poor level of service for very costly items). They should be ashamed of themselves. — Signed for windows on 11÷24÷14; at that time, they said the windows might be done before the end of the year — Emailed Joe on 12⁄2 to get an appointment for measurements — He responded on 12⁄3 that I would receive a phone call from Carl to schedule measurements — Emailed Joe on 12⁄3 for the treatments for the front door(we had discussed something for the front door when we signed our window agreement on 11⁄24) — Joe emailed me back on 12⁄8 with options — I responded on 12⁄8 asking for costs for window treatment — Did not receive a response; followed up on 12⁄17 to ask again for the pricing — Joe responded on 12⁄18 saying he would check on window production and get me a cost for the front door treatment — To date, I have not received a response from Joe — Emailed Joe on 1÷5÷15 to check on window status & pricing for the roller shade and asked for a quote in the next couple of days — To date, I have not received a response from him — Left VM week of 1⁄5 at the WindowTex office; did not receive a response — Left VM week of 1⁄12 at the WindowTex office; expressed some concerns for not receiving a call back; received a call back the day that I called and they said the windows would be done in 2 weeks(week of 1⁄26). Woman on the phone said that the VM was broken but they were working with Verizon to get it fixed. I asked her if Joe was still with the company because I had been trying to get in touch with him for a quote on the window shade(which I still have no received) — Followed up on 2⁄2; left VM with WindowTex Office; no response; also left VM on Joe’s cell phone and have not heard back from him either — Followed up on 2⁄9; left VM on WindowTex office and sent email to WindowTex; received no response. — left VM on 2⁄11 expressing need to speak to someone & sent email on 2⁄11 — Received call from WindowTex on 2⁄12. Agreed on a timeframe for the windows to be installed in March and that the next call I would receive would be on 3⁄2 — Received call on 3⁄2 saying they were running behind — Emailed on 3⁄17 following up asking for an update on install — Received an email on 3⁄18 from WindowTex stating someone would call me week of 3⁄23 about install — Never received a call on 3⁄23 regarding install; sent email on 3⁄27 to ask what was going on — Left VM on 3⁄30 asking about install and letting them know I would be contacting my lawyer — Left another VM on 3⁄31 — To date(4⁄9) no response has been received — Contacted lawyer on 3⁄31 to have them write a letter — Letter was sent via certified mail as well as regular mail week of 3⁄30 — NOT A SINGLERESPONSEWASRECEIVED

I have tried calling these people multiple times without any success. They have $ 2,000 of my money and we have yet to have shutters installed. We moved into our home 4 months ago. Joe will call you, text you and push for your business. But then when they receive your money for a custom install they never return your call. I will be pressing charges as this firm is not trustworthy. I have given them ample time to return calls and text messages without success. Do not utilize this firm.

I too am a disgruntled customer… well I am not anymore since Joe, the owner fired me as a customer and wrote on Feb 20 that he would be sending my deposit back to me. Which I have not received it… surprised anyone! My story is I signed a contract on Oct 29, 2014 and gave Joe 50% down for window replacements with the understanding that it would take 4 weeks for the windows to be completed… About 5 ½ weeks later I phone and ask it they are in… Shauna will get back to me… she doesn’t and like so many of you… THEYDONOTRETURNPHONECALLS. I call and she finally answers and now she has to get with install department regarding scheduling… no return call… now it’s about 2 weeks before Christmas and I phone, the call is actually answered. I suggest now waiting till after the holiday and we schedule for 1/7/15.bad weather we move it out to 1÷14÷15. Bad weather again. I simply get a message that the work won’t be performed. We waited 2 weeks to ever hear from them again… after of course leaving messages… isn’t it wonderful how your phone stores these calls. Finally we hear from them on 1÷30÷15 and will do the install @ 9am 2/4…that morning at 8:15am I get the phone call that they are behind on another job. Yes I am pissed… It’s a rental property. The tenants have taken down curtains, blinds, moved furniture to accommodate Windowtex. Joe calls after I have a fit that evening and wants to make right by me… so again scheduled the Sat 2/7.On Friday evening I reach out to him via text 3 x’s on his personal phone to find out what time he’ll be starting on Saturday. Sat he never showed up for the job, never phoned with an explanation… from 2⁄7 −2÷16 I phoned 6 x’s … nothing! Finally on 2⁄18 I email Joe… Are my windows ever going to be installed… then on 2⁄19 I reach out to the fella who recommended him. This person is shocked by my story and calls Windowtex. He speaks with Shauna, Joe’s wife and she tells this person they will call me… do they NO Instead I get an email from Joe 2÷20÷15 and I quote…“Mrs. Hartig, Good afternoon. Due to circumstances beyond my control, such as weather, your window order has not been installed. It has become apparent that we are not a good fit for you. Therefore, I will direct accounting to process and mail a refund of your deposit of $$” First of all I thought the windows were ‘custom’ made, secondly Joe broke his own contract and third the weather was beautiful 2/4, 2⁄7 and on subsequent days and of course to date NOREFUND!

I am a recent customer of Windotex. Owners are Joe and his wife Shawna. My name is AJ. email me at and I will give you my phone number to discuss. If you are thinking of giving your money to Joe, please be careful. This is a horrible company. They WILLNOT keep their word, read the back of the contract before you sign it. DONOT give him the full amount for deposit. I ordred and paid in full for our shutters. 4 months later and numerous lies Joe send us to Design Shutters(this is the only thing he did right for us). He still didn’t take care of his obligations… it took total 6 months but we finally got our shutter from Design Shutters… they did a very good job. My lessons learned the hard way… hope this will help you. so what to expect from Joe and Windotex? 1) «promotion» and«sales» gimmicks. They will tell you«they have buy one window and get 3 free». That was the deal they gave me but l later found out there is no such deal from manufacture. I paid $ 6500.00 for 11 windows + 2 small windows by the door. Don’t fall for they«promotions» shop around and you will find out their promotion prices is the same as retail price. 2) He will tell you that FULL payment needs to be made up front. That is what I did… because I thought I was getting a «deal». Don’t do it. Normal practice is that you pay 50% and pay the remaining 50% when it’s installed(or when the order arrives). ****this is part is just an assumption on my part from what I have heard, so I can’t prove this part*** He is behind on payment with manufacture for other orders/customers. Manufacture requires distributers to pay 50% of their cost prior to building the shutters and remaining 50% prior to delivery. Joe may be taking your deposit and paying for other orders but he has to have more orders before your order can be placed or shipped. Basically a «ponzi scheme» All the reviews I have seen on here are positive, that’s one of the reasons I didn’t question or research this business more before I paid. I have to assume(from what I have heard from people that know Joe) there are many more unhappy customers that lost sleep because of what Joe and Windowtex do… I hope you will do what I am doing to prevent others from going through what we had to go though. ****as I mentioned above; previous 2 paragraphs are only my assumption and I have no proof that is what he does*** I do have proof of everything else I mention here. 3) He will tell you they have«their own installers». That is not true. He subcontracts all installs. I do have to say the guy he send to do the initial measurements was a very nice guy. I don’t remember his name. 4) He did not follow through his schedule: Initial measurements did not happen on time as promised. Install tech showed up to do the measurements(very nice guy) but Joe did not provide him any details about what type shutters we had ordered(well I take it back… he told him the wrong type of shutters). Installer did his best and took all the measurements. 5) By now I was starting to question what I was getting into. I contacted Joe multiple times to make sure we were getting what we hard ordered and not what he put on the order. During this 2 day process I attempted to cancel my order. I was getting a very bad feeling about working with Joe /windotex. He basically refused to refund the money… and we reluctantly moved forward with the process. He assured me everything was going to be ok and that we would have our order installed in 10 weeks but no later than October 10th, 2014, He know that was an important date for my wife due to visitors coming… only reason we placed the order was because he promised it will be installed before Oct 10th. ****I have emails to prove 6) Weeks went by; I checked with Joe via text to make sure the order was placed and paid for(to manufacture)…he confirmed he did. As weeks went by I called him to make sure the order was shipped… after multiple attempts he confirmed it was, as we were getting closed to October 10th; I attempted to reach him again and again to get an installed date. He would not reply to emails, no reply to text, won’t answer calls(thank you caller ID :), I finally got smart and start calling from different numbers/phones…and got though to Shawna… but then she will tell you Joe will call back… sure. I received multiple confirmation from Joe that shutters will be installed by Oct 10th. In my heart I know that wasn’t going to happen and the«something will happen during shipping». October 9th: nothing yet but I am told shipment is on the truck and we are still good to tomorrow install. I take the day off. October 10th am: I call and I am told shipment arrived and Joe is going through the order… we are still good for 12:00 noon install. For once; I thought. wow it may actually happen… NOT! email me and I will tell you what happened(out of space here). Thanks, AJ.

Our six windows were installed professionally and quickly by their team, as promised. They did an awesome job. When they left, we had nothing to clean or move back into place, like they weren’t even there. We’ve already had two people in the neighborhood tell us how great the windows look. Plus, we’ve already noticed what a difference the windows make in our boys’ rooms… no more drafts, no excessive heat from the sun, no hot or cold to the touch. If we’re able to complete window replacement in the future, we will definitely call them again. Reasonably priced.
