Do not go to Murphys on a weekend. Place wall-to-wall tourists on Saturday in Feb. At the Pour House there were more children than patrons — heck, even one of the employees brought their kids to work to run amok. At least half the folks there brought at LEAST three little kids — and virtually nobody in the place was over the age of thirty. Decent selection of tap beers at decent prices. Frankly — I would rather drink alone in a quiet parking lot. Food looked average, at best. Maybe more pleasant/tolerable midweek???

As a Murphys native, I can honestly say this is the best places to hang out in town. They have an amazing beer selection that changes so there is always something new to try. Plus, they know their beer. They have a great staff and some amazing sandwiches! Plenty of seating and they also have a lot of games. If you’re in town, check this place out!

Awesome beer selection! The sandwiches were really good too and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I ordered the park sandwich which has turkey, ham and cheddar with a very yummy garlic mayo. My husband ordered the main street which has cranberry, cream cheese and turkey with sunflower seeds. That was also really good, although I’m not a fan of cranberry. Everything was great and I really appreciated the suggestions and friendly service. Me and my husband highly recommend this place!

What an absolutely delightful place to grab a drink! If you love great beer and awesome company this is the spot for you! I went here for a kid free night out with my aunt and two cousins. Nick, Corey, Kimberley, and their beautiful mascot Luna are an absolute joy and so hospitable. The brew selections are vast and refreshing and the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. It’s also family friendly which is a welcoming change for those with little ones that enjoy tasting. Also a nice change of pace from the other wonderful tasting rooms that gear towards wine. Will definitely be back!

Knowledgeable staff and an amazing selection of draft beers — what’s not to love??? From the second my wife and I walked in, we were greeted and welcomed with tastings of various beers. We shot the breeze with Nick behind the bar and discovered some wonderful new brown ales in the process. Then, after we had settled in and had a couple pints, we all played a round of Liars Dice(ps they have some great board games here) and walked away with 2 great craft bottled beers. All this for only $ 28!!! Priceless!!! Stop reading and go visit this awesome pour house.

Extensive beer selection and comfortable seating inside and out. Large yard with picnic tables, good for kids. Menu is simple and portions are small but the food is good and the service is friendly. I had the pastrami on sourdough toasted and my wife had the turkey with cranberry. Both were great, just wish they were bigger!

This place has many seating options with the combo of indoor and outdoor seats. 88 different alcoholic drinks, mostly beers provide options based on daily taste shifts! The bartender knows his beers if one needs guidance. I asked if there was a better beer than the famous Pliny the Elder from Santa Rosa and he provided a Knee Deep IPA from Auburn, CA that scored higher marks! :D I then ordered a bottled blackberry cider and something similar which I cant remember as of yet. :D No, I was not drunk just went to like 6 places that day in Murphys(good times) :) It’s a place that is local and friendly, people bring their kids even for a soda pop, so it’s a diverse age range, and wholesome. I’ll be back!

Stopped by for a lunch date and was thoroughly impressed. Nick has a well rounded selection on tap in five gallon kegs and that keeps them rotating quickly. If your looking for Sam Adams or shock top you’ve come to the wrong place. The taps are geared to the beer hobbyist and you can sit back and BS with the owner about likes and dislikes without getting the pretentious snob feel found at fancier places. This place is more of a working mans beer haven. The taps cater toward the west coast but they have bottles from all over. The food menu is simple and strait forward. A selection of handmade sandwiches served with a side salad or kettle chips. I had the Hotel, a pastrami, black Forrest ham and bacon with cheddar and pepper jack, lettuce tomato red onion and thousand island dressing on a French roll. Pretty tasty even though they were out of bacon today. My wife had the Main St, turkey with sunflower seeds, cream cheese and cranberry spread on wheat. This was great! We both enjoyed that one and we both agreed we would order it again. Pricing was about average for this town. The beer selection was completely unique and there will be at least a few that I’m sure you haven’t heard of or tried. Take a look at the pics for more on the décor. This may be our new favorite hidden gem in Murphy’s and I hope they stay around for a long time.

Very kid friendly! A nice change from wine tasting. They have lots of beers to choose from-on tap and bottled. I don’t know much about beers and the bartender was super friendly and helped me choose a beer that I really enjoyed. It is a nice casual atmosphere, we were with our two kids and were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather. They have a whole stack of board games available. Our kids sat at the picnic table and played checkers, while we sat and enjoyed each other’s company and our beers. We didn’t order food but their menu looked really good and also super kid friendly, even offering pb&j. We will definitely go back here next time we are in town.

So many beers… Seriously, if you can’t find a beer you’d enjoy at this establishment, you’re an insufferable rube who’d be better off staying at home. The Pourhouse is unique in that they have frequently-rotating taps serving craft beers brewed on the West Coast(as a testament to this fact, two beers were rotated out between the consecutive days we stopped in). Unlike a brewery, where you’re limited to their standard brews and the occasional seasonal beer, the Pourhouse offers variety and an opportunity to sample beers you’d never have heard of or drank otherwise. The Pourhouse itself has a great look and feel. You can enjoy a beer at the bar, in one of the several sitting areas inside, or outside on the grass. We didn’t try the food, but it looked awesome. Oh, and they also have board games. I was shocked to discover that this establishment had only been open a week when we visited, as everything was so polished and well-run. I also really enjoyed the fact that it’s a family affair. This place is legit. Looking forward to coming back the next time we’re in town.

Summary: New local beer tasting room with great variety and excellent people. The place to go if you want beer in Murphys. This is a very relaxed and wonderful place to try 8 – 10 rotating draft beers from all over California(and beyond) as well as exploring their extensive bottled and canned beer selection. The owner Nick and his brother Corey are friendly and knowledgeable about their beers and chatting with them was part of the great experience. The entrance to the Pour House is behind and to the left of the Hovey Tasting room, making the outdoor seating spacious and buffered from the Main Street traffic. Indoors, there’s bar seating, tables, couches, board/card games, and two TVs. They offer a food menu with sandwiches and snacks. Pour House is dog and family friendly business so don’t wait, go check it out!
