I originally first started using Bare Minerals when they had their Mini-Make-Under Bus come to Fashion Place and they completely covered what exact color of foundation I should use, along with other handy products and their respective shades in a handy dandy reference card that I still use to this day. You really can’t beat the customer service at Bare Escentuals, sure you can buy the same products down the wing at Sephora, but there are so many people in there that you can’t get the same amount of attention. And if you’re a person like me, a late-bloomer/minimalist into the world of make-up, a little bit of guidance and lack of intimidation goes a long way in my book. The only problem that I have, which I guess isn’t so much a problem with Bare Escentuals itself, is that this particular location is always running low on my color(Golden Tan), which you would think for a fairly dark skinned Southeast Asian in Utah, wouldn’t be much of a problem, right? Well… I blame those darned tanning salons. Women of artificially produced color, please stop purchasing all of my foundation, thank you.

I love the products of Bare Minerals. I first sampled their products 5 years ago in Minnesota, before they built this location in Utah. Unfortunately, I stopped using their products until the company was brought here locally. I’m not a big expert on makeup so I haven’t had the chance to try other popular products like Mac or Sephora but I love the quality of Bare Minerals although I only use their foundation and warmth powder. Their customer service has always been great, probably because I always know which products I need and I’m just in and out of the store. The only thing that I don’t like is that their prices are pretty high. Usually, it costs a little bit over $ 50 for me to purchase 2 containers of powder. They do have punch cards though for loyal customers. Until I get the chance to try other products to compare results, I’m pretty content with the outcome of Bare Minerals’ products.

I will definitely stay away from this place in the future. I accidentally bought a foundation that was the wrong color, but I didn’t realize it until I had used it a few times. I called and asked about their exchange policy, and they told me that it wouldn’t be a problem to exchange the foundation for the correct color, even though I had used it. So I went back today(which is very out of the way for me) and tried to exchange it, but they wouldn’t do it since I had used the product, and were very rude about the whole issue. I like their products, but there’s no reason to go to this store. There is a Sephora in the Fashion Place mall(the same mall this business is located), so I will go there when I want to buy Bare Minerals in the future. Their customer service is excellent and they have a great return policy.
