It’s been a long time since I have been to an IHOP and coming back here reminded me why that is the case. Coming in, it was moderately busy, but nothing out of control and no worse than I have experienced at similar establishments. We were seated right when we walked in but once we were seated, it took our waitress 25 minutes to come over and even great us with the excuse of «I didn’t know you were here» even after walking past us at least seven times and making eye contact the whole time. Once she took our food and drink orders, it took another ten minutes for us to receive our two waters and another fifteen for us to get our food. Right when I was getting up to walk out, our food left the kitchen. Once we finally had our food in front of us, the plates were warm but the food had cooled off, hallmark sign of something being under a heating lamp for a considerable amount of time. Once we were done with our joke of food, we waited for ten more minutes for our server to come and take my money. She never showed up so I had to walk to the back where five different employees were just standing not doing anything to pay and was told it was a massive inconvenience to have them swipe my card and get me out of there. I cannot warn you enough, but stay away. Stay far, far away. If I could give zero stars, this is the only place I’ve ever been to that would warrant it.

Do yourself a favor and turn around and go somewhere else. If you’re in the mood for a greasy, diner breakfast, there are better options. At this location, your server will forget about you(you’ll wait 25 minutes to have your order taken), then wait another 30 – 40 minutes for your food. When it comes time to pay, you’ll have to walk to the back of the restaurant(where the servers will be standing around) and ask to pay. The only thing this iHOP has to offer is miserable food and horrible service.

It’s been many years since I’ve been to an IHOP and I now I remember why. It was one of the only places open when we arrived in town. The menu has changed quite a bit but not for the best. The food was less than desirable. Can they even call it food? I’m headed to Google to find out what they use. I doubt the Food Babe would approve.

food was ok, pancakes were almost cold when we got them. coffee was lukewarm, no refills on ANY drinks, no check ups on how our food is going and if we need another soda or water. it’s not that hard to refill a drink or check if we need water when obviously are drinks are FULLY empty on the end of the table. our server isn’t very friendly, and it’s not busy but they’re all chatting around with their friends /coworkers, not working. unimpressed.

It’s IHOP so ire was good for what it was, a quick breakfast. The atmosphere is sometimes hard to deal with since it’s so packed and noisy. The service was friendly

We came in at 11:25 pm and got some of the worst service, or lack of service in history. First when we arrived we sat and waited 6 minutes(yes we counted) while a waitress was within viewable/hearable distance of us, literally 10 feet away, closest table to the us in the area. After her friends to whom she was talking to pointed at us, did she finally come and tell us the wait was going to be 5 – 10 minutes on top of the time we already waited. Then she CONTINUED to go on talking to her friends pretending to sweep while we waited. Finally after waiting from 11:25 pm to 11:40 pm we left. We were close enough to hear her stories, to which i will write a few of down. 1. We heard about her tips on the night, I quote, two $ 5 tips, two $ 4 tips, handful of $ 3 tips. 2. We heard about her roommate and how she woke her up at 6 am and asked her to watch her cat and her turn on gossip girls for her cat to watch. 3. We heard about how she doesn’t want to stay past 1 am so going forward she’s only going to be scheduled at 11 pm. 4. We heard about how she’s going on trek, basically how she’s going out to push carts in a desert for a week. We finally had enough and left. We were upset enough that we called and asked to speak to the manager. The manager did not respond in a manner we expected either. Instead of taking the feedback, they decided they wanted to argue with us. Had she simply apologized, taken the feedback gracefully, I most likely wouldn’t be leaving this feedback. So the manager decided to argue these points. 1. The waitress was off shift. My response. If she’s off shift, why is she still in uniform and sweeping? She represents ihop and we as customers don’t know that. I mean, duh? 2. They’re low on staff. Understandable and not the first time we’ve been there and that’s been the case. However, given that is the case shouldn’t the manager assist the waiter and or waitress? I mean having been a manager myself, that’s what I did. 3. The«off duty» waitress could of at least sat us, grabbed a couple waters and left us menus. I mean there were clear tables. Or even the manager? I’ll leave you with this feedback. Less than 5 miles away there is a Village Inn, 4681 Redwood road. They assisted right away and rocked it. They actually want your business as well. Signed, Very dissatisfied previous ihop customer(had been frequenting this location past 7 years).

We keep giving this place a shot, but we are continually disappointed. The service was so slow. And the when the food came out a half hour later. it looked like it was sitting is the warming window for at least 20 minutes. Never coming here to this location again.

Each time I have gone to this specific IHOP, I have had really slow service. This last time I went, I took my 14 month old, we were seated and it took ten minutes for the waitress to ask us what we want to drink. With a baby it would have been nice if they came only a couple minutes or less to ask me what I want. If you don’t mind waiting forever then this is the place for you.

I love breakfast food, and I love going to different places. This location is hit and miss. Sometimes it is clean and not sticky and the service is great other times the tables are extremely sticky and the service could use some work, the two usually coincide… wonder why :) While the chances are 50⁄50 you will end up with a clean table and good service, I still risk it for breakfast on occasion.

I happen to like this IHOP. My husband is not a fan of the food but I am a lover of greasy eggs on potatoes mashed together with hot sauce and ketchup served with bacon and sugary pancakes. Maybe that’s why I need to lose 20 pounds… Any who, came here for thanksgiving dinner because my husband had to work and I’m to anti social to go to any friends house without him so I sat home and watched x-files. We decided that we were eating IHOP because we were both simultaneously craving salt and sugar. What better place to satisfy both cravings for under 25 $? We both had breakfast plates and pancakes. Both cooked well as far as IHOP standards run. The server was absolutely delightful! Just a peach. The second lovely waitress we’ve had at this location in a row. I would not expect that on thanksgiving. I’d be grouchy. And if she was she hide it well! And my vanilla iced coffee was very good. Better then gas station. In fact I’d probably come here if they served iced coffee to go. Maybe they do? I’ll find out. Anyways 5 stars for service and 4 stars for food as expected.

Super slow service. Took the server 10 mins to acknowledge me after sitting down and another 30 to get my food. It shouldn’t take so long to scramble some eggs. The waitress was nice and very apologetic but I wasn’t having it.

Salt Lake City is bad at IHOPs. Go to another city, particularly one of any size and some of things you’ll see here and at the location at 2100 S. would be inexcusable and completely not accepted elsewhere. Everything that you don’t want to see from filthy restaurants to poor service to very questionable execution of the actual dishes is on full display here and this is another one that both likes to cut corners in skimping on foodstuffs, all the way down to the syrup on the tables, to using inferior products, along with much smaller portions of the expensive items, such as the meats. It is a shame and a tragedy what has happened to this chain, which was once very, very solid. The pancakes, for what it’s worth, are still ok, as that batter they have doesn’t seem to have changed much, but other places do them as well or better and all the other stuff that comes with as well. Not worth waiting in line for.

I agree with you Mike D. This place is trash. I have gone here twice within the last month and have horror stories to tell. The service is the worst I have ever seen and I have been a general manager of restaurants for 15 years. The manager is non-existent here and could possibly be a child. Once your seated plan on being there for an hour an a half before you are eating your food. We went the 2nd time because our first complaint got the District Manager involved and he sent us our meal cards and asked us to give them another try. Not only was the service worse on the 2nd visit(1 cashier and 1 cook) in the building but 3 out of 4 of the meals we ordered came out wrong. Now you can guess that after waiting an hour to get our food from the kitchen we were not about to send anything back. We quickly ate our food and left. Once they saw that we had Meal Cards they didn’t give us another receipt. But I reached out to complain to the District Manager anyways. He said they were looking at new management for that location and are aware of the problems there. We even saw hostess doing her hair near someone’s table. Please do not go here to save your life. Other iHops may still be ok but this one seems to be totally worth staying away from. I have seen people get up and walk out due to the long waits to get their food.

Just what you expect from IHOP. Clean. The service is very slow at 1am in the morning. The waitress was irritated and confused. But that being said, it one of the most decent food place open 24 hours.

A group of 5 of us went in waited 20 mins for drinks over an hour and a half for food. After being ignored by our server I asked for a manager, did my best to not chew her out telling her my frustration. She comped our meals and apologized to all of us. Will I visit this location again? –no. Was the food good? Yes. Did it take forever to get the food, yes! Was the manager understanding, yes.

Eh it’s Ihop. I’ve waited way to much each time I’ve been here. They never have a host so you wait around for a waitress to finally get a chance to sit you then wait around for another waitress to take your drink orders. I feel like they have plenty of people working but somehow can’t keep up. The food is always good but it cost double what I think it should. I would much rather go to a smaller local place to get my eggs and bacon quicker and for half the price.

What can I say. It’s IHOP, they’re all about the same. Of the 3 I’ve been to in the local area this one has the best service… For whatever that’s worth. However it seems like the staff is always shouting in the kitchen so you can hear them in the dining area. Considering they’re all college aged kids they just have a talkative relationship I guess. Food isn’t impressive. IHOP loads everything with tons of sugar to the point that it’s just absurd sometimes. Stick with basics like eggs and sausage and you’ll be fine. I’m rating this as a 2 because I’m comparing it to other restaurants. But as far as my Sunday morning greasy spoon haunts go I’d rank it a 3. IE go here for coffee, eggs, hash browns, and sausage.
