Mr J’s Grill and Pub

This place is definitely one of the best places in Murray for college students to hang out. Whether you drink or not, the employees are incredibly friendly and the prices are fair. Every now and then they’ll run out of popular products but everything I’ve been offered while trying something new has been delicious and right up my ally if I had questions. Can’t recommend this place enough.

This is a great pub to meet in the middle at. The best of both worlds if you ask me. By that I mean that you can show up before 7 on any given day to dodge a big crowd or you can show up on Tuesday or Thursday after 8 for wall to wall action with kareoke or open mic. If you’re not there early enough for these 2 days you’ll be waiting outside bc they reach capacity (100) every time. Good good and fair prices but you must smoke outside.

Service is great food is better and great choices of beverages favorite place to go

My favorite burger in Murray. It’s not thick, but it’s very flavorful. They always have good beer as well. Of the other stuff on the menu, I liked the chicken sandwich and Philly cheese steak a lot.

I came to visit my best friend from college. He spoke highly of this place and although I was skeptical, I told him I’d give it a try. It didn’t disappoint.
First of all, the pulled pork is so good. Moist but not greasy. Flavorful but not drenched in BBQ sauce. The coleslaw was delicious too. And of course, you can’t have the first two without baked beans.
Anyone who knows me knows I eat… a lot. So naturally I ordered the sampler and tried that too. Who knew fried broccoli and fried pickles went so well together?! The drinks are pretty well priced, too. It can get a little crowded but truthfully it doesn’t detract from the experience. Switching tables or adding another table isn’t an issue here so that’s a major plus.
The music appears to come from local acts and some of these guys are pretty good. I liked that we could watch the playoffs without paying some cover. I’ll be coming back to this place soon.

Bar I give 4 stars and restaurant I give 3. Though have not tried many food items.
It is located right off campus which is very convenient for college students as myself though I haven’t been before or right after classes.
They have a trivia night at 7 on Mondays. They also have live performances and karaōke on certain nights.
The owner is very nice and treats his regulars with great service. The waitresses are nice as well and are good at answering any questions you may have about drinks/​food.
The Alma Mater is almost like a piña colada which is my favorite drink there so far.
Their darts are pretty popular on the side of the bar though starting is a little confusing.

Well, I was going to tip but the 5 of us have not received anymore service since the first few minutes to receive our initial order.

Friendly service and awesome food! Always delicious!
