Booked a fishing trip for Wed morning. They called Tues morning saying we were late. No booking receipt, no confirmation number. Lesson, call 5 days ahead to confirm. Kimberly(manager) would not let us rebook. It took the boat captain’s intervention to make that happen. When we did sail, the wind kept us off the ocean and in the inlet. We caught a crab, eel, and some bass. Weather cut the 4 hr trip to 1.5 hrs. Fishing the inlet is like fishing a lake. If you want to fish the inlet(calmer water, no seasickness), try to find a time when the tide is rising. According to the locals, inlet fishing is better with a rising tide. Also, book early in the vacation in case weather forces them to cancel or keeps you off the ocean.

I made reservations for the head boat for a ½ day fishing two days prior to the trip. This was to be my 4 year old’s first fishing trip. We showed up this morning 20 minutes early like we were told to do only to be told that their computer had crashed and they lost our reservations! Instead of calling the people to let them know, they waited until we showed up AND they oversold the trip. Way to go Captain Dick’s! You made a 4 year old come to tears as he watched the boat leave! Word of advice, if you make reservations, call every day to make sure they still have it, and make sure you show up at least 30 to 40 minutes before you are supposed to leave in case this happens again. If there was another head boat option close by, this place would go out of business because the poor management decisions.
