Best value in the area! Great food, great service. The 3rd lb. burger was very much enough. Fresh patties, and hot crispy fries. The philly cheese steak could have thiner bread, but all was great.

On vacation in the area, and really trying to stay away from the «food traps». A couple locals suggested Poppy’s for lunch, so we gave it a try, and we’re not disappointed!
I had the grilled chicken salad, which was pretty good. Nothing incredibly special about it, and I was disappointed that they used ice burg lettuce exclusively. But, they chicken and raspberry vinegarette were very tasty.
Other members in the party had burgers, hot dogs, and CBR sub, and all were very tasty, and very well cooked!
We finished off our lunch with some «fried Oreos»…hot damn, these things are amazing! The reviews on Unilocal,and suggestions by the locals do not give them enough credit!
Finally, the staff was super friendly and accommodating to our group. They made our visit great! Overall Poppy’s is a great spot for lunch, and is not the run of the mill stuff you get in MB.

Deep fried dessert platter– Oreos, nutter butters, cake, Twinkie: AMAZING. Huge portion my family of 5 absolutely loved it!

Mom and poppy place. Choice of 1⁄3 or. ½ lb burger. Good ol’ burger and friendly staff. Unusual and unique taste to the Mushroom & Swiss Burger I had. Fries are nice and thick and crispy … wish there was more: P

Best buffalo chicken sub around! You can even get it as a salad in their taco bowl which is also a very good alternative too. Juicy and has the perfect kick to it.

Yesterday I had a exceptional meal at Poppy’s Burgers and Subs. The Chicken Club sandwich with onion rings was superb. I immensely enjoyed myself!
We returned today to order the famous Deep Fried Oreos and Twinkies… so delicious!!!

The food was greasy but good. Onion rings were fried to perfection, but the fries were a little droopy. Both the kids got cheese steks and loved them, the patty melt I had was delicious too. Ordered for delivery and it was there in 20 mins, hot and just right.

Admittedly I’m a NC BBQ lover, but I didn’t find the BBQ to be very appetizing. It was too dry for me and the only sauce I could find on the bar was a vinegar sauce.
Fortunately I was there on a Thursday and the fried oysters were INCREDIBLE. Best I’ve ever had. Saved the meal.
Will go back, but not for the BBQ.

I have been here twice recently and really liked it both times. The 1st time I had a Hot Dog special and it was very good. The second time — with my wife — I had a chicken filet special which was perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. My wife had the Cajun chicken club special and said it was delightful. Reasonable prices, good quick service — go here.

The kids loved this place! Found it after all murrell’s inlet restaurants were packed. Sat here and watch the rain come down in sheets. One niece got the Carolina burger which had chili cheese and coleslaw. I got the cheeseburger which was pretty good could’ve had more cheddar on it but no complaints. The onion rings were tasty and not overly huge. Staff was very friendly. We got fried Oreos for dessert which were delicious!

Good spot for lunch with the kids. The burger (bacon-​and-​egg) and onion rings were better than average but nothing special. The deep-​fried platter (Oreos, Twinkie, chocolate cake, and Nutter Butters) was an awesome way to finish. The deep-​fried cake was the standout.

A stand alone family environment. It’s clean and the staff is friendly. They are kid friendly. The food is cooked fresh right where you can watch.
Unfortunately this time it was a bit warm in the restaurant. Don’t let that deter you though. This local business deserves all the support it can get. You won’t regret it!

You will not be disappointed from choosing Poppy’s for your dining experience. From juicy burgers full of flavor to crispy onion rings to fried Oreos (!!!), this spot has it all. The staff was welcoming and answered every question with a smile. We will definitely be back!
