I have been to Wahoo’s several times before and their sushi is amazing. My parents own a townhouse in Pawley’s but always stick to the same restaurants when they visit. I have been raving about Wahoo’s to them for several summers. This summer they let us change it up and take them out to dinner. I called ahead(around 3:45pm) and spoke to Crystal who was the hostess. I asked Crystal if there was currently a wait time. She immediately got an attitude and said«I don’t know how many are in your party, I don’t know what time your coming, so how am I supposed to give you a wait time??!». I explained that I was currently on the phone and she could ask me those questions. I explained that we would be there in about 15 minutes and we would have a party of 7. She then tells me she still doesn’t know how long the wait time would be. I said«no problem, can we make a reservation?». Crystal then explained that it was far too late to be making reservations and hung up the phone on me. I normally would not have walked into the restaurant after being treated so poorly on the phone, but I had talked about this restaurant so much to my parents that we had to go. We then get to Wahoo’s and Crystal was at the hostess stand. I did not tell her that I was the one she was rude to on the phone. I said that we had a party of 7 and explained it was my parents first time so we would prefer as close to the window as possible. She immediately gave me an attitude after that and told me it would be 2 ½ hours if I wanted to be seated close to the window. I looked around the lobby and there was only 1 other party waiting(party of 4). I told her we would just take the first available. A party comes in about 20 minutes later while we are still waiting and requested a table for 4. Crystal then proceeds to yell across the room«thank you for not being difficult unlike other parties». The gentleman then asked what she meant and Crystal proceeds to say«well some people want to come in here asking for a window seat at dinner time and expect to get that!» I was completely appalled by her actions and continuous attitude. When we were finally seated we thankfully had a very delightful server. Unfortunately overall, Crystal is the first experience when you call or walk into the door. She left my parents and I with such a terrible impression of Wahoo’s, which is unfortunate. I will not be back as long as she is there.

Not overly impressive… waitress was the best part of meal… very attentive… view is beautiful but food was just… ok…don’t mind paying top dollar but food better equate to price… fell short …

Found this place from another Unilocaler. Boy am I glad I did. Made it just in time for happy hour sushi and half priced wine(which they will gladly re-cork for you to take home). Kim, our server, was very pleasant and helpful. Can’t speak for other food items, but come for the sushi!

Went there today, had a coupon for lunch, and they were closed at 12:05 pm. Why have a coupon that clearly states lunch, and you are not open. Maybe they are out of business?

Will be returning next summer to try a different dish! Outstanding service and A+ food. You won’t be disappointed with the chef’s nightly special!

Very overpriced for what you get. Food was very bland. Do not get the firecracker shrimp, it was basically popcorn shrimp with no flavor. We wanted to ask for more sauce but our server didn’t come back. I got the tuna for $ 24 and it was an extremely small serving and had no flavor! I would say it was the worst tuna dish I have had. The only positive aspect was the service, no complaints there.

Great atmosphere and great food! I spilled my drink first thing and before we could tell someone they were already cleaning it up. I had the fresh catch with there house sauce, it was to die for! My wife had the pan seared salmon with grits, finished that too! Our server was great, ask for April, she knows her stuff. She will guide you into the right direction. Highly recommend this place!

Food was AWESOME! I love fresh seafood, and this place was the bomb. I had the salmon over grits with a red pepper sauce, and loved every bite. They had a she-crab soup taste, which was nice because it didn’t fill you up. Really good. Atmosphere was very nice; great views, and they had live music in the bar. In fact, the only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 was because the guy playing music was a bit of a jerk. My sister-in-law tipped him a 5 and then made a request, and he said he’d play her song for another $ 15. Just soured the end a bit.

We have been to Divine Fish and decided to return even though we learned it was now called Wahoo Fish House and under new ownership and management. My parents and sister ordered a fish dinner and my husband and I ordered some sushi rolls. The entrees arrived and the server said the sushi would be out in a couple minutes. A couple minutes turned into a significantly long wait. Several minutes went by and my husband got the servers attention and the server did go check on the order but never returned to let is know what was going on. Another several minutes had passed and then my dad approached the hostess. She said that sushi takes a while and the server should have let us know it would take a while. She said«sushi is an art» and that some places even have you waiting for«1 ½ to 2 hours.» My eyes almost popped out of my head when I heard her say this. I mean, are you going to Japan to make the rolls? I have had sushi before, in restaurants and take out and it NEVER took that long. The hostess also said that there were 3 people making the rolls and that it was very busy. First of all, if there are 3 people then all the better. The rolls should be out in no time. And 2nd, the restaurant was NOT busy at all. The hostess’s comments were not suitable for customers that were basically complaining about the amount of time it takes to make sushi. We were never told it would take that long and did not get to eat the meal together. She also walked away after all of her comments that didn’t make sense, like she was annoyed with US! After the unproductive and defensive conversation from the hostess, the manager approached us and asked us if we wanted any apps or salads and said he would not charge us for those and would take 50% off the sushi bill. I had a salad already but ordered another drink. AND we noticed a table that had arrived after us and got their sushi before us. We ultimately got the sushi and ate it. It was ok. I’ve had better. It wasn’t too pleasant that we could not all eat our meal together. Sadly, there will not be a next time for us at Wahoo’s and we will be trying other surrounding restaurants.

We really enjoyed our meal here. We had seats right by the window overlooking the marsh and got to watch a number of birds. The noise level was reasonable. Service was excellent and the meal was well-staged. We started with the fried green tomatoes. They were tender and fried in a crispy batter with cream cheese inside. The flavors blended nicely with the blackened shrimp and pepper relish. The entrees were good, but two of us found our meals too salty for our taste. Dessert was superb. Both the crème brûlée and the raspberry ricotta cheesecake were delicious!

This place has two parts, party party outside bar and foo foo dining inside. The outside bar actually looked like a lot of fun. Inside, there is actually a small bar area that is primarily used to service drink orders and buy time for those waiting to be seated for dinner. The inside décor is attractive and the place has two levels with the middle open. The menu is a one pager. The prices are not cheap, figure on $ 20 to $ 30 per adult. If you have kids you are in luck, the kids meals are $ 5.95. The drink menu does not include the prices, always a bad sign. I tried two off the drink menu, the darknstormy and the myrtle mule, both of which were OK, not great, but OK. Hands down the worse hush puppies I have ever had. The crab dip was good but not enough bread to go with it. The calamari was good but did not last long between a larger group and not enough dip sauce to go with it. I ordered the wahoo fish, which came with a generous piece of fish, mashed taters and grilled veggies, all of which were good. My wife ordered the scallops which were served on lobster raviolis. The scallops were 3 to 4 max in number, perfectly prepared but one of the main reasons I never order scallops out anymore, just not enough there to justify the buck. The service overall was good, but seemed to lack orchestration when the meals came out as to who got what. Overall, a pricey way to eat, I would probably past on a repeat visit due to the lack of affordable options on the menu. The most interesting thing to note was in the bathroom, some type of hand cleanser that is homemade with salt and oil that you could actually purchase up front. If they have a more affordable bar menu outside, then I would definitely be up for trying that next time. Tip — sushi can only be ordered from the bar, not from the dining room.

I can’t imagine that they could have done anything better! We had a seat on the second floor right by the windows overlooking the inlet. We were asked if we’d prefer windows on the first or second floor and I asked which had the better view. The hostess was very quick in suggesting the second floor if the stairs weren’t a problem. I’d never hesitate the second floor to anyone! The decorations were beautiful with blue/green decorative glass inserts on the walls and the ceiling. Absolutely beautiful! The restaurant and the bathroom were immaculately clean which is a major consideration for me. They even had a sample of a salt scrub in the ladies room! Nice level of music throughout as well. My daughter and I had different appetizers(she had a tuna roll and I had the She Crab Soup) which we both enjoyed. I saw some of the other sushi that was coming out to other tables and it looked beautiful! Then we each had an order of crab legs. We were able to order the crab legs a la carte which I thought was great! I didn’t have room to eat everything I had so not having a starch and a veggie to feel guilty about not eating was perfect. We each had the house wine which was nice. I had some wine left at the end of dinner. They offered that we could walk around the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk area with it! I’d heard that was an option so they put it in a plastic cup for me and off we went! Taylor did a great job of taking care of us! Nice young man who I was pretty sure was from there as soon as I heard him talk! It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to returning again! I’m sure the beautiful day and view after several rainy days had a lot to do with it, but I really enjoyed myself!

The food, presentation, and service were top notch. They graciously allowed me a side substitution. It was seriously the largest piece of seafood I have ever been served at a restaurant which, although unnecessary, justified the price. I also loved the contemporary décor. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because the bread could be improved(I would recommend a softer yeast type of bread but this may be a personal preference). We also came here for sushi and seaweed salad actually, but didn’t see it on the menu when we got there. We saw later there was another entrance out back taking you to the sushi part of the restaurant. This could be clarified on the website and/or upon entering through the main/street side entrance.

Went here with 3 other people for dinner. Dinner was good… Not«off the charts»… My fish dish had zero flavor and the couscous was way over cooked. The fried green tomatoes were really yummy… Get those. Also get dessert… We had key lime pie and peanut butter cake … Both really good!

Well, we were trying to go to drunken jacks next door but when they told us there would be an hour and forty minute wait we really couldn’t see waiting so we walked next door and found a more upscale restaurant than we were really looking for but we went in anyways. I decided to get a salad and a crab dip appetizer for my meal to save some money but my friend got an entrée. My salad and appetizer were both great and I left without even finishing the dip(it was good I was just full). My friend got a fish dish and said it was good also. The waiter we had was very friendly and it was very nice looking out on the water. It was a nice meal but it didn’t wow me either.

This was a nicely appointed restaurant and well situated to enjoy the inlet views. We mostly stopped in for a drink, but decided to order some cocktail shrimp. I was anxious to try some good ol fashioned South Carolina ones, but when I asked the server if the shrimp were local and he said no and could give no further information without getting a chef involved, I was confused. I think it’s important that a seafood house be knowledgeable about who sources its products. We ordered the shrimp anyway and we’re disappointed to find that the kitchen had over cooked them. Not sure how the chefs/cooks would fare with other more challenging dishes, when they were unable to execute a basic one. The drinks were decent though, the view lovely and just being with our dear friends made this a good experience. I would go for happy hour when you can sample some of their eats and drinks at a reduced cost. That way you can put your toe in the water without having to plunge in.

Friendly and efficient service accompanied a very good meal. We split the Caesar salad which was giant and delicious; the She Crab soup had a nice zing; crab cake appetizer was jammed with crab and could serve some as an entrée; I had the oysters — six bluepoints with three different sauces — very tasty; finished up with a crème brûlée that was among the best I’ve had. All in all a great meal, terrific view, good service.

I’ll give Wahoo’s 2 stars although the food and drinks were overpriced. We spent $ 42 for 6 Ketel One martinis that came no where near the top of the glass and were lukewarm — obviously a bartender who doesn’t really care. Our waitress was the worst I’ve had in a long time. It wasn’t busy when we came and we asked for drinks and ice water with lemon– when asked again we got 2 dry slices of lemon. Food was $ 100+ for 3 entrees: grilled fish –2 with veggies and one with veggies and rice plus an add on $ 6.95 crab cake with a salsa of some kind. One entre was supposed to have an add on of buerre blanc, which was not added and the crab cake was so– so with no salsa and way under spiced and flavorless. Our waitress, Jazmine should not have brought these plates out of the kitchen! After the first drinks, we never saw her again to reorder drinks. She never checked with us to see if our dishes were correct. My flounder was dry and tasteless but the fresh Wahoo was good. We shared one piece of cheesecake for dessert but had to take it to go because it took so long to get. I paid with $ 70 in cash and a credit card and was short changed $ 20! I had to ask for this back and left a $ 10 tip with a note stating we had really bad service. So you decide: was it worth $ 160+ to eat dinner at Wahoo’s? I don’t think so.

At one point, Divine’s Fish House was one of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, it started to falter when the Divine Dining Group decided to create restaurants for the extreme foodie crowd. Eventually we stopped going when the food was just not worth the price. With the recent change in ownership and name, my husband and I were encouraged to give the restaurant another try. I REALLY wanted to love it. Wahoo’s has my favorite view of the inlet and overall atmosphere on the Grand Strand. First disappointment, the sushi bar has been removed. I don’t eat sushi, but my husband does. Half of the fun, is watching it be prepared. The sushi my husband received was mediocre. In his words, it wasn’t substantial enough when compared to other sushi restaurants. Second disappointment, the new menu is more like an overpriced seafood shack than a higher end fish house. The Seafood Newburg and Buffalo rib-eye have been replaced with fried shrimp baskets and a sirloin topped with fried oysters. The biggest treat was the fried lobster appetizer with potato hash. I could have made that my entire meal. The servers were also wonderful and attentive. Don’t get me wrong, the food was fine. That’s just it… It was just fine.
