Worst experience ever with a Rubios. I love the Rubios off of Ynez road in temecula. However, this location was terrible. It took an hour for us to receive our food because the manager at the register lost the order. By the time the food did show up, it was cold, tortillas were hard and the sauce on them was hardened. Really disgusting. The food had been sitting somewhere in the kitchen for an hour. Left really annoyed with the service and the lack of customer service. We never asked for a refund but not even a simple apology was given. Update: 2÷09÷16 Rubios customer service has quickly given a response to my complaint about this particular location. For that, I am happily updating my rating from a 1 star to a 3 star. Although my experience was terrible, Rubios has reached out to make my next experience better. I really appreciate great customer service. Thank you Rubios and Jackie!

Definitely some of the best fish tacos I’ve had. The shrimp burrito is also definitely worth a try. Although recently I think they’ve gotten smaller… They’re still good and full of shrimp, not like those other skimpy places…

Well I hate to say it, but it looks like Rubios has followed suit with all of the other restaurants; prices went up and portions went down! What happens to my shrimp burrito, what used to be a full sized meal now presents like a kiddie meal. I have no problem paying $ 10 for a burrito, a few chips, and a soda if the burrito is full sized; but the burrito I received today was anything but. I’ve always enjoyed the fresh taste and ample portions of Rubios, but today my lunch was more like a snack. It’s going to be difficult for Rubios to compete with the other eateries if their food continues to shrink, I can only hope this was a fluke. To throw in some good news, the chips were great as always and the salsa bar never disappoints. Bottom line, be careful Rubios or you may end up like Bully Burger(who???)

Shameful!!! What happened to this place? A Carne Asada Burrito with a small drink will cost you 10 bucks. Pretty average for a lunch now days. But the portions were pathetic. I was brought to laughter when I saw the size of the Burrito. I looked like finger foods. It was embarrassing. Save you money and hit a taco shop instead.

Food is fine, what I am expecting for rubios. But this place is ALWAYS disgusting inside. I have probably eaten here about 5 or so times and only once was it really busy. But every table inside is dirty. I don’t fault the staff, they clearly have management issues. The last time we went, we arrived about a half an hour before closing. Once again, no clean tables, so I settled for the«least dirty» and unfolded napkins and set those on top as makeshift place mats. As we sat there, I slowly got more and more infuriated, watching who appeared to be the manager on duty. He literally stood at a guest’s table, for the entire time we sat until we left, very loudly talking about sports. The only thing he did the entire time, was lock the front door and then redirect all the customers leaving to exit through the patio. And even made snide remarks about guests once they were out of ear shot. I know, how dare someone expect to leave a place out the door they entered! I have over 10 years of f&b experience, and I know this industry inside and out. The only reason I didn’t give this guy an earful was because my stepson was begging me not to make a scene. I really wish I had. I could not imagine how horrible it must be to look at this man for leadership. It definitely rolls from the top.

Not sure about the bad reviews. Everytime I’ve come here the experience is always good. Im gonna talk from my own experience, as I have ordered most things on the menu. I feel like the food here is pretty pricey for what I get and taste wise the food just doesn’t sum up to the price paid mostly for everything except the fish taco deal on tuesdays. Fish tacos are probably the only good item worth getting here. I like the fire roasted chipotle salsa and the cilantro onions from the salsa bar. They have odwalla strawberry lemonade drink from the fountain and thats also pretty good.

Horrible. Looooooong wait. The food wasn’t that good. 2 stars because the fish tacos were actually not bad.

Couple days ago I had the Mahi burrito and it was oh so good. But I was eyeing my husband’s dinner which was the Cilantro Lime Sea Bass. So, I asked my hubby to stop by Rubio’s today and pick one up cause I can’t stop thinking about it. I truly hope Rubio’s keep this one on the menu cause it is DEVINE! I could eat it everyday!

A couple things I noticed tonight. No one on the line was wearing gloves. Gloves or not no need to touch the toppings and burritos that much bare handed. Get Tongs or something. I notice the soda station hasn’t been cleaned in a while. The lids and silverware tray need to be cleaned. As so does the top of the salsa bar. Little things but all important. And as far as food it was ok the rice was a little hard so try to reduce that. Consistency and improvement. When I go to a restaurant and I see less care is taken on cleanliness and food handling than in my house how am I going to be a return customer. Management-improve in these areas and you will bring the ratings up.

Very friendly service and always very generous with their chips! This is the only place where I will actually eat fish and I don’t eat any fish. Their tilapia tacos are the best. Their strawberry lemonade is so delicious. My favorite combo is the street tacos. Manger is very friendly. He remembered our names! They serve good portions and their bowls are served very well. I recommend this rubios to who ever is near.

Not bad, but not good either. The new menu is an improvement, but it’s not anything special. I actually think the food is ok, but a bit over-priced for what you get. I do like that there are healthy options, such as salads and«bowls» but found myself wishing there was more. I especially like the chopped salads with shrimp, but if I’m really hungry, it will not satisfy me. I don’t know. I don’t mind stopping by if I’m in the area and hungry, but I wouldn’t make a special trip here. YMMV.

I must say… this place was pretty delicious. The one thing that standed out the most was how the manager was greeting people and bringing out the food to the customers. Its alway nice to see the managers leading by example.

My family is a big fan of Rubios, and we regularly go to the one in Temecula. While the recipes at both of these locations is the same, the quality of ingredients is very different. The produce was obviously old. Also, we waited 20 min for our meals. Definitely not worth the drive or money over here!

Rubio’s has a new look, new menu, and a new name(Rubio’s Coastal Grill). Along with all the changes it seems as though they also feature a well trained staff and higher level of customer service, which was previously lacking at this location. The new menu focusses on seafood; however, they have kept a lot of the chicken/stake/burrito/taco favorites from their old menu. They have also added a number of salad options in addition to a bowl selection. I have recently had their Burrito Especial, tacos and their California Bowl. I have enjoyed it all. Where I am not a big fish taco or seafood guy I do like the changes they have made and look forward to adding Rubio’s back to my normal lunch rotation. I am a fan.

Why does corporate allow this updated location smell like sewer … Before and after renovation or change to new look it still smells the same… It’s not staffs fault as this is part of the property… Please do something to remedy the smell when you walk in… It’s nasty and your poor staff has to deal with it… Only reason this review gave 3 stars is due to the great customer service nick gave upon entering and serving my food… Way to Nick… May they give you a raise already and not the cruddy 5% crap they think is so generous!

This was horrible! Lots of employees talking to each other. The managers talking between themselves and the employees regarding scheduling and social issues. 2 burritos and a drink, just under $ 20. It was cold and the ingredients were not fresh. The place was dirty too. Don’t waste your money. Unless you have it to waste!

Worst upper management in the business. They don’t care how you as a customer feel about anything. If you have a problem I suggest not returning. Jilbertos is independent and family owned. Better prices and they treat you like royalty! There’s I think 3 just in Temecula. I’ll never come back to any Rubios ever! Take my hard earned $$ elsewhere! The new menu is no improvement either or the new name. Should have left it alone.

I’m not the biggest rubios fan but they sent me a free meal for my birthday so I decided to get something to go. The gentleman who took my order was very friendly. I ordered a bowl with chicken and as I waited for my order I noticed this was a pretty popular item on the menu. It looked like half of the restaurant had he same thing and it looked huge. When hey called my name, I was shocked to see the size of the take out container. It looked like half the size of what was being served if you ate in the restaurant. Aside from that, what I ordered was very flavorful and I would order it again

The Refreshed Rubio’s Coastal Grill has a new look inside. Odwalla lemonade options and slight tweak of the menu. The service at this location is still tragically slow. I don’t mind waiting for the food, it’s always the ordering that takes forever. Rarely more than one register open. I wish I got more chips.

Out of all the Rubio’s I’ve dined at, this is my least favorite. I won’t even count it as a favorite. The two times I’ve been here have been consistent, but not in the good way. I go to Rubio’s for their fish tacos, so both times I ordered one fish taco. The first visit took a while, but the second visit was the same. I thought I would be in and out within 20 minutes, but that’s how long it took to wait for my order to come out. I don’t expect it to be fast; I’ve been fine waiting at any other Rubio’s for food to be cooked and prepared properly, but for just a single taco and a few other customers, it should not have taken this long. To top it off, it tastes nothing like their famed Original Fish Taco. So I was left scratching my head in confusion. The only thing I’m sure of is not returning nor recommending this location. There are luckily other, better Rubio’s around town to enjoy better quality food and service.
