This was nice place to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We had a really nice time and ordered from their preselected menu. You would not expect the ambiance to be as nice as it is because of the location. I would go back here again and recommend to anyone looking for a nice quaint date spot.

Enjoyed dinner for restaurant week in January 2016. I ordered the fried green tomatoes, brisket, and apple crumble. The tomatoes and brisket were well balanced, expertly prepared, and a delightful appetizer/main course combination. The apple crisp was much to sweet for my taste and wasn’t edible after a few overly sweet bites. I’m going back for certain, but will skip dessert next time. Dee was our server for this wonderful dinner and she was professional, kind, and a real treat.

I was looking for a «steak place». This was most definitely the right pick for a Saturday night dining experience! Perfect Steak and a glass of malbec — unbeatable combination!

We decided on the Aspen Grill based on reviews I read on Unilocal.Once again it paid off! We had a 7:00 reservation last Wednesday night. When we arrived there was only one other table seated and a few people at the bar. They had a live singer doing some classics at just the right volume, so it really added to the atmosphere. Our waitress, Dee, was very pleasant and knowledgeable on their menu and wine list. We started with the shrimp bisque soup and I had the shrimp risotto. My wife said the soup was good and my risotto was cooked perfectly. Three large grille shrimp were placed on the top of the bowl. The risotto had some sweet corn in it, which gave it a really good taste. For our entrée I had the NY strip with cheese grits, and she had the scallops risotto. The steak was a perfect medium rare. It was one of the best steaks I’ve had outside of the high end steakhouses in the city. The grits were the second best I’ve had. Sorry but none have beat the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta. Her scallops were a tad undercooked for her taste, but otherwise her dish was perfect. For dessert we split a piece of cake that was heavenly. Through the entire meal only one other table came in to be seated. Normally this would be strange, but we discovered early on that the week of thanksgiving is really dead in MB. The overall best meal we had all week. I highly recommend.

F the extra tall booth they placed us in. Best food we had in the south. The steaks and seafood were done perfectly. Loved the risotto. If we ever come back to the south, will definitely eat there again. Reservations for sure. Not really a walk in and dine place.

Elegant, pleasant and delicious! I highly recommend a visit. We ordered the fried Carolinian Oysters which were amazing. Also ordered the perfectly prepared Sea Scallops with creamy Mushroom Risotto and the shrimp and grits which was ok and a bit salty. The service was excellent and attentive. Medium or main sizes are available which is a bonus.

This place is amazing. We had the oysters Rockefeller and fried green tomatoes for apps and they were fantastic. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was Stephen and was very knowledgeable about their wine list and extremely helpful. Had the scallops with mushroom risotto and it was outstanding! I am now thinking about that dish on a daily basis as I could eat it for every meal. Delicious! Highly recommend this jewel of a restaurant!!!

Solid place as far as the food I usually don’t leave reviews that often. But I did feel compelled to leave one for this place. Definitely a nicer place than what I would have expected in a strip mall. However, the service is in need of some tweaking. I called ahead of time to see if they were busy and to see if there was a dress code. The hostess said was dress casual. Although i acknowledge we were not dressed to the nines. We were not in jerseys and cut offs. My husband wore a polo and long cargo pants I wore jeans and a cardigan. Both of us felt like perhaps our experience was derived from the way we were dressed and our age. Our dinner show plans hand cancelled so we decided to get some dinner since we were already out. And we weren’t going back to change to go out to dinner. First off the place is nicely decorated not too heavily decorated. Clean and well laid out table plans. However, the ambient lighting was so dark I had a hard time reading the menu. And no I am not old and shouldn’t need my cell phone flash light to see the menu. Our waiter who seemed to be older than us didn’t offer us terrible service. But we could definitely tell see his discontent at what we ordered and how much we ordered.(we assumed he thought we wouldn’t leave a good tip) My husband ordered a soup and a 4 oz steak and I ordered wine and the full order scallop/risotto. He definitely good have improved the experience. This was only magnified when a larger table walked in next to us and their server was much more engaging. The food is pretty standard and is exactly what it describes fresh Carolina cuisine. Nothing mind blowing or out of the ordinary. We may try again if we are on that side of town and see if our experience was just a one time deal or if the truly had to do with the attitude of the restaurant. Other wise there are places I have definitely had better experiences at that have just as good food or better. I would post pictures but all the photos are either too dark or washed out from the flash.

A.MA.ZING! We were looking for seafood that didn’t involve being fried and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The atmosphere was very romantic and intimate, surprisingly, due to being located in a strip mall. They have a nice selection of wine and are very attentive(Brynn was our waitress.) We ordered the crab cake appetizer special… To die for! My husband and I both got the scallops and were very satisfied. Served over mushroom risotto and fried spinach… I almost wish we knew about the portions beforehand, we could have split it if we ordered an extra side of scallops. We will definitely be back!

This is a classic example of not judging a book by its cover! It really is a hidden gem! As soon as you walk in the door, you totally forget you are in a shopping plaza restaurant. The location is so unassuming. It was so nice to support a local business and not a franchise! The dining room is dim and welcoming. Perfect for date night, or a nice evening with friends. We were a bit worried about being under-dressed(we were on vacation and didn’t bring«nice» clothes, but it wasn’t a problem. There were people dressed very nice, but quite a few people were dressed casually. So do not let that scare you away if you are on vacation!!! My friend and husband had the french onion soup and LOVED it! They both killed their bowls pretty quick and really enjoyed it! All 3 of us ordered steaks. We had New York Strip, Rib-eye, and Filet. None of us left a morsel on the plate. They were all cooked perfectly to each persons liking and so tender. I had the New York Strip, cooked medium. There was a perfectly seasoned«crust» on the steak and it was wonderful! My husband and I had the pea and corn risotto. It was very creamy, and the corn added a nice, light, sweetness to it. My friend had the mashed potatoes and she said they were very nice. We all had the Bernaise with our steaks and it was so good! For dessert we had the Fig & Pear Bread Pudding. OHWOW! Bread pudding isn’t usually the first dessert I go for, but our servers said it was great. Her recommendation did not disappoint! It was great. The portion was enough for 2, maybe more.

One of Myrtle Beach’s hidden gems: Aspen Grille is a classy upscale spot that champions elevated takes on Carolina Cuisine. It’s hidden away in a strip mall off of kings hwy… yes, albeit questionable, once you get inside you forget where you are. Soft lighting, upscale table settings, a swanky bar, local artists on display etc… Aspen provides a calm and friendly atmosphere for a hearty meal. Some of the staff seem less apt for the type of restaurant AG is, but we were fortunate to have Brynn, who was phenomenal. The food was spectacular with several boisterous and artful plates in the starter and main courses. The wine selection is decent but limited on non-staple varietals… but what wines they do have are great. The dessert menu was honestly the only let down as the options were limited to standard and unimaginative dishes. Stars of the show for this meal were: duck breast with sweet potato purée/red cabbage and the sea scallops with risotto and spinach.

Fabulous, chef inspired, locally sourced cuisine. Excellent service by Herman. He was perfectly attentive, had fun with us and took great care of us from beginning to end. He was knowledgeable and well versed with the menu and was comfortable with himself, which made us feel comfortable. Ambience was nice and not overly pretentious. The crafted drinks were excellent. The only drawback for us was the live entertainment was just a touch too loud. Good piano player, vocals not as polished, but more than adequate and good enough for the average listener. Otherwise a PERFECT evening spent as we celebrate vacation and time together.

Good food in a sea of chain restaurants! Warm goat cheese and beet salad was delicious. Fried green tomatoes were just okay. My husband had the escargot and said it was spot on. He also had the grouper with succotash and Carolina rice. I had seared scallops over mushroom risotto w/fried spinach. Both entrees were very tasty and the fish was cooked perfectly. Nice wine selection. Good service and pleasant décor/atmosphere. Would definitely return next trip to Myrtle Beach.

We asked 2 locals for steak/seafood recommendations and were told to go to buffets, yuck! So we came on Unilocal and found this great restaurant. My sisters and I ate here on a Sunday night. We each ordered a cocktail prior to dinner. I liked that they brought a chilled martini glass and poured the drink in the glass at the table. The french onion was great, a lot of cheese and good flavor! I had the filet mignon with roasted potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly. My sisters had the surf and turf Aspen style and the scallops. They both enjoyed their entrees. Our server informed us there was one slice of 10 layer cake left in house, so we ordered the cake to share. The slice of cake was huge and very good! Service was great. I only have good things to say about our meal and would highly recommend to others! The restaurant needs to get rid of that cart they use to wheel back and forth to serve food and drinks… It’s cheap looking and noisy!

VERYGREAT service, good food! I had the trigger fish plate. It was not as flavorful as I would have liked — but it was still very light and good. My guy had the duck and was SOVERYHAPPY! We started the night with fried oysters and escargot. both perfect. And to repeat myself — the service was great. Nice ambiance as well.

Market fish — grouper on succotash was divine. Veggie plate also very nice. Seared tuna/wasabi appetizer — my wife remarked she could just order a bunch of these for dinner. Good lounge singer — nice voice, not too loud. Service was very appropriate. Our server was there when we needed her but not intrusive. Best restaurant I’ve been to in Myrtle Beach.

Great food! Very pricey! Scallops in the picture was huge, I ordered it but not that size. However very flavorable. Lobster tail, filet mignon everything was great. Wines were rip off. Ex. Jlohr retail $ 10bottle was listed to $ 55per bottle. So I jus had beer. Nice to gice it a try
