Please do not waste your time going here… me and my fiancé decided to give this place a try because we both love Caribbean food… big mistake… first of all they only had two items available to order on the menu… first warning… then they ran out of rice and peas… second warning. and the finale… I ordered oxtails and they were the toughest nastiest oxtails I have ever eaten… my fiancé ordered stewed chicken and its tasted awful… I tried to get him to leave when they said they ran out of rice and peas… I mean really what’s Caribbean food without that… but anyway try it at your own risk… me personally I will not ever, ever eat there again and definitely will not be recommending it to anyone!!!

Good Jamaican food. Not the best. Curry goat was ok. Oxtail was ok. The escovichy fish is a long wait cause she has to defrost the fish but it’s worth the wait. Not as good as in Jamaica. Overall, not bad if you want Jamaican food but definitely not representative of Jamaican cuisine. Not enough use of spices. But they do carry Shirley’s coconut biscuits!

Best Jamaican food I have had in years. Ox tail rice and beans. The Jamaican patties are great too. Definitely a must try

When I went they only had one dish available. I was a little disappointed. What I had was decent the chicken in brown stew. The beef patty was normal, not homemade. Overall, I think if they had more traffic coming through their doors they would do well and have more pots cooking at a time. I hope this happens for them as they are in a location where they may do well as being different among a lot of restaurants that all look the same. DT

I went to this very small establishment, oversell the food was good, the rice and peas could dfefinetly use more peas. And for the I paid for two meals the portions could have been larger.

On vacation found and wanting an oxtail stew at Clarendon, however the meat was well done, the dish has no substantial flavor. The curry chicken was not as good as an indian curry dish or malaysian. No fried sweet plantain because here, its seasonal. Disappointed, will not come back when we vacation again in Myrtle beach.

We searched out this restaurant based on other Unilocalers’ recommendations. We are tired of the whole pizza, subs, and burger scene in the Myrtle Beach area, and we are trying different kinds of cuisines here. We are finding some excellent places with this being one of them! We went there on a Wednesday night around 7PM and the restaurant wasn’t croweded. The place is not fancy and there not many tables, but if you want good Jamaican food, you will get it here. We had the Oxtails and Brown Stew Chicken entrees with sides of cabbage and rice. The taste was delcious and the portions were generous. The prices were very reasonable also. The service was very good and the employees friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Addendum: We went back to Clarendon Cuisine a week later and ordered the Curried Chicken and Curried Goat platters. Both were mouth-wateringly delicous!

they make an excellent sweet sauce out of pimentos. Jerk chicken was good but a bit soggy style.

I have to agree with Dick S. The food at this place is fantastic but $$$$$. I think the owners have confused what should be a side of rice as the feature item. Aside from that, the food is great and I recommend that all give it a try! 4.5 stars otherwise, enjoy!!!

I often wonder why cooks making the simple food from poor nations charge so much as soon as they leave the native shores. I ordered the jerk chicken plate. The rice and peas are quite good. Rice is the main dish and is even placed in the large section of the Styrofoam carry out container. The jerk chicken and the side of steamed vegetables occupy the smaller divisions. The vegetables were excellent but the bony jerk chicken was not very spicy and a bit too wet. For ten bucks I expected more than this. With some adjustments to portions this could be a good alternative for those tired of barbecue and fried fish.
