He’s Not Here

Getting your hair cut usually feels more like a chore than a momentary escape from everyday life, but at He’s Not Here an enjoyable escape is what you get.
There’s a great atmosphere, great staff and a great value. Jennifer did a wonderful job listening to what I wanted my hair to look like, communicating with me about the cut and my hair and executing the cut to my total satisfaction. Throw in the hot towel during the shampoo afterwards, the straight razor with warm shaving cream to clean the back of the neck, and the neck massage all for $ 20 and you have a deal and an experience worth going back for time and again. Only wish I didn’t just happen to need a haircut while on vacation when I found this barber, because I would make this my go to place if I was local.

I thought I found my go to barber shop a little after I moved here, but the girl messed my hair up twice. So I thought a change would be nice. Found this place on Unilocal and thought «A hair salon specifically for men?!» I didn’t even know they existed.
So I walked in around 3 PM and the lady at the counter was very nice and said she couldn’t fit me in until 5 PM. No big deal, I should have called first anyway. Fast forward. I get there and it’s only a few minutes wait. I could tell the girls were busy, but fairly punctual with appointment times.
Jennifer cut my hair, and I told her about my previous barber. She was totally understanding and was happy to work with me. She did a fantastic job and kept up nice conversation. Probably one of the best cuts I’ve ever had. After she got done, a hot towel on my face and a shampoo. And after this I’m thinking «I didn’t ask for this. Is this extra?» Cause some places will try to charge you for extra services you didn’t know you were going to have to pay for. Nope, not this place.
So after the hot towel and shampooing, she took a guarded razor to my neck and trimmed up a little on my sideburns to make sure everything was even. Then a short little neck massage with lotion. You honestly feel like a special customer, but it’s like that with everyone. Oh, and did I mention that it was all only 20 bucks?!
Needless to say, this will be my go to barber shop.

Absolutely fantastic! Clean. Not busy. Even got a neck massage after the haircut. Very upscale but caterers to local clients. I am visiting area and needed trim but not scalped. Great job. Highly recommend them to anyone needing neat professional trim.

Love this place. I made an appointment to have my husband’s hair cut and we were both very pleased with the services. Included in the cost of a $ 20 haircut is a neck and scalp massage, warm towel facial-​thing, and neckline trim using warmed shaving cream and a straight razor. We will definitely be going back and recommending to friends who share a love for the little details that make the experience so much more luxurious.

For $ 20 I get a better haircut alone than my regular barber in Charlotte ($ 35). Add to that the shampoo, neck shave, neck massage. This is a tremendous value, will definitely return each trip to MB. THANKS, HNH!

Very thorough and accommodating. I came in as a walk in on vacation. They were sweet and my hairdresser had very capable hands.

Wonderful staff and great atmosphere. .treat you right from the minute you walk in Meagan cut my hair and did a excellent job… they also offer massage and mani pedi if needed.. will continue to be a client 5 star

Let’s start with barber who was great; however, good luck trying to get an appt. There is some witch at the front desk who could care less about whether she gets u in or not. Let say that after the third time dealing with this, I will not be back.

I’ve been a regular at He’s Not Here for sometime. Today I had an appointment scheduled with Amber, who generally cuts my hair, and by far gives the best haircut I’ve had in years.

Turned my son away which, turned my wife away who was, very much, looking forward to a day at the spa: massage, manicure, pedicure, facial, hair cut: the works! Plus a cut for me. Is children’s hair so different? Well, the name is fitting: you won’t find this guy there.

I have been looking for a good barber since I moved here a year ago. I found one that cut hair very well but he took so long and would take lunch breaks halfway through my haircut. He’s not here was a wonderful experience. Awesome cut, relaxing wash and a neck and shoulder massage all for $ 20. I will be making a standing every two week appointment!

As a purveyor of massages, I feel like you immediately know whether you’re going to get a good one in the first five minutes. Scratch that, after walking in the door. If the space feels inviting and you yourself feel comfortable, it’s already a win. After doing some research, I decided to give He’s not Here a shot and booking over the phone was super easy.
I was pleasantly greeted at HnH and ushered into the back. Everything was great and everyone was really nice. I only came in for a massage so I can only speak to that experience but everything was top-​notch. The locker room was stocked with a shower, robes and products typically seen in a very high end spas, but the spa lacked a the pretentious atmosphere you typically get.
The 90 minute massage was great. In addition to firm pressure, there were numerous heated towels and heated stones, again something typical of costlier spas, but the price point here was right on ($ 110).
Everything was comfortable and relaxing and I left with definite intentions of returning on my next visit to Myrtle Beach.

Awesome place! Super nice folks… especially the young lady with the purple hair ! She did a terrific job on my hair… which has received many compliments… including a young lady friend who usually hates my hair being quite short. The brief head massage while washing and conditioning my hair was an added and unexpected bonus ! The prices are very reasonable… easy parking right in front… and a clean and serene atmosphere.

I moved back here in July looking for a barbershop. Found this place and its awesome! Got my hair cut from Meagan and Amber. They are awesome at cutting hair. I would def recommend this place to anyone. This is going to be my barbershop for a long time!

Was vacationing at Sunset Beach with a lower back pain. Looking for some relief I decided to go visit HNH for a massage. I showed up and was greeted by everyone in a very nice manner. Went back to meet Miranda for a one hour session. What a wonderful massage, clean rooms, nice atmosphere and Miranda treated me to 60 minutes of complete relaxation. HNH is definitely a do over. Hopefully next trip to Sunset will include a visit to HNH, I will be asking for Miranda.

Just had a 30min massage by Roberta and it was awesome. She used a combination of hard pressure, hot towels, and hot rocks. She could definitely tell where my trouble spots were and worked them out! She checked a few times to see if the pressure was good but other than that just let me lay there and enjoy! The shop was nice, neat, clean, and everyone was very friendly. I would definitely recommend Roberta and her facility to anyone looking for a great massage!

I live in Columbia, SC. However, several months ago I was in Myrtle Beach on business and scheduled an appointment. IT MAY HAVE BEEN THE BEST HAIRCUT AND OVERALL SERVICE THAT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! I now go back to Myrtle Beach every 4 weeks just for my haircut! Ashley is great!

I have been getting my hair cut here for 2 years. Best service and haircuts! Customer service is their #1 priority and they do a good job of it. I always enjoy a coffee there after a haircut. The appointments are always on time and they know what they are doing.

I was just visiting myrtle beach and decided it was time for some grooming. My girlfriend looked this place up for me. The reviews were great so we decided to give it a try.

Definitely a great deal. The friendly, experienced staff made it the best value I’ve ever had for grooming. I certainly need one of these where I live. However, if you’re in myrtle beach, make this the place you go for men’s grooming!
