Let’s cut to the chase. What a dump. Why can’t I give it no stars. Hilton Honors stuck us in one of these condos as part of the package to get us to look at their Hilton grand Vacation Club, which turned out to be nothing grand. See my review of that elsewhere. We checked in during the day, which gave us a chance to see a lot of the flaws in this place. Wall paper coming off the wall in the bedroom. No soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Towels that a low rent YMCA would be embarrassed to provide to their guests. A shower faucet that made it impossible to adjust the temperature. No dish detergent in the kitchen. Very limited utensils for cooking and eating. No ice in the icemaker. Nothing to clean counters and floors with. Two pillows on the queen bed that had obviously seen better days. Flaky internet service. THE chair in the living room was broken. the condo was about a mile from the beach — what is the point of being at a resort that is not close to the beach. We didn’t take advantage of the shuttle service because it only served a two mile radius and nothing of interest was in that area. I have been in Motel 6 properties that were more inviting than this place. When we complained to the HGVC folks, they did NOTHING to provide a better accommodation for us. There was a nice Embassy Suites on the beach that was part of the complex. Or better yet, let us stay in one of your resort properties instead of in a dump that really has little to do with your resort. And to add insult to injury, we seem to have been bitten up my «no seeums» in the condo. I would NEVER suggest that someone frequent that facility.

Very nice and clean resort. We stayed in the South Hampton Building unit 1106. Very clean and we’ll decorated. Great beds and kitchen. The unit has 3 balconies. Two master suites and 3 bathrooms. These owners did a wonderful job of making sure the place feels homey. Mt family will definitely return.

I had such a great experience in North Myrtle and staying in a condo at Kingston Plantation was really what made it so enjoyable. Our condo was close enough to the beach so that we could enjoy the coast, but was far enough from the craziness of the pools and waterpark so we were able to have some privacy. The condo was very spacious and clean and came with nice kitchen appliances, new flat screen televisions and a really great outdoor patio. Also, we had access to the health and wellness club and that was a great added bonus. I can’t wait to come back to North Myrtle next year and stay with Kingston Plantation again.

We had a nice stay at Kington Plantation — Royal Palms for a family vacation in a 3-bedroom condo. The Royal Palms was a great place to stay, overall, and I would definitely go back again. The Royal Palms is connected by a corridor to the Hilton Resort, where the main check-in and lobby area is at. A coffee shop with some Starbucks items is also located in the main lobby area along with a gift shop. The Royal Palms’ lobby is a secondary lobby and, sometimes, has a hotel staff member at the desk to answer any questions. Otherwise, it has a lot less traffic and is nice to go in and out of the hotel without the busy atmosphere of a main lobby. The Hilton and Royal Palms are, in my opinion, the perfect place if you like to be around a lot of amenities. There are indoor and outdoor restaurants and the pool area is very close. The Hilton-area pool area is fantastic as it offers several supplementary pools and hot-tubs around the central pool area. The poolside/beachside bar was really nice and separates the pool area into two parts. When bands or musicians play, the one side is in front of the entertainment. The beach access is also on this side. Behind the bar area, is another large pool, with hot-tubs, extra pools and a picnic table. It was extremely convenient to walk outside the Royal Palms lobby area and make our way to the pool or beach. It was not a very long walk at all and it was nice to have entertainment so close. If you like a little louder and busier area, the pool deck in front of the bar/entertainment stage was a nice place to have fun. With an infant with us, sometimes it was more convenient to sit behind the bar/entertainment area and relax at the pool that connects to the kiddie pool complete with a sand bottom. Quick note, though: The sand was more rougher than I thought it would be, but it was still a nice and safer area to let our 8-month old test out the waters. There is the Kingston Plantation boardwalk that connects all their properties. It was great to walk down and visit the Splash Water Park and see the other hotels. If you would rather not walk on the beach to get the the nearby Apache Pier. The boardwalk will take you down to the Margate, just before the campground. Then it’s just a short jaunt to the pier. The rooms at the Royal Palms were very nice, but our stay at the Margate before had«fancier» décor and feeling to it. The Royal Palms is definitely on the nicer end of the scale in comparison to the other condos we stayed at or visited on the Kingston Plantation property. Everything was nice and clean for the six of us that stayed in the three-bedroom condo. Two of the rooms had their own bathroom, with the master bedroom having, of course, the nicer one. The third room was located next to the third bathroom, so it was really not a problem to always have an open bathroom to use. Overall, again, a great stay and would do it again. I am not a nit-picky traveler, but do enjoy staying in nicer hotels as I enjoy the amenities and customer service quality, which the Hilton was great in those areas. If I wanted to have a more fancier looking condo and be more away from the action, I would stay at the Margate on the opposite end of the property. But, if you like being near the«action», it was very convenient to have several restaurants, pools, the Starbucks coffee shop, and the larger outdoor bar nearby. Every hotel staff member was nice to us — from the Hilton’s front door bellhop/valets, to the maids, bartenders, coffee shop workers, and the staff members that patrol the pool area to ensure you have your hotel wristband on. Thank you so much for a great, memorable stay!

We are staying in West Hyde Park 1C. The unit has a mildew smell. Dated furniture with extreme wear. The bedding and chair cushions are over worn as well. Kingsize bed is extremely hard and not comfortable at all. The shower heads should be changed in the bathroom, old and rusty. The unit needs to be updated. It would be nice to have dish soap to wash the dishes in the unit. Has great potential just needs updating.

Only giving 2stars since it was on the beach. Our rm was better than we thought. We thought we were only getting a rm with a rollout bed n a queen. But got two rms with two beds in each. We were charged resort fees which we weren’t told about. The paper said free internet well it wasn’t. Got charged for the gym which was never used. Went to the pool twice but didn’t use the pool with the wristband. The pools were so small like how could everyone there enjoy it or even b in them. I had the most fun at the beach. Wouldn’t recommend this place to ppl. Also was told we’d get a complimentary breakfast and that wasn’t true. We went down there n handed her the ramjet and she’s like that’s not included. An accurate outline of the fees before hand would have been good instead of these hidden fees.

I feel badly for people who own really nice rental units here(as some reviews have been very positive of certain units) because they are getting lumped in with the D-grade rental owners… But I can only comment on my experience. First off, KP seems quite nice when you drive in, but upon closer inspection, the age is showing at this place & right now I’m referring to the common areas that we are all paying fees for… Was probably incredible once, but everything just seems so old & has not been reinvested in. Even the landscaping is minimally maintained, weedy, in need of the attention of someone who cares. If I owned here, I would be very unhappy with the property management. But I digress… I must be the only person who was looking for a registration for the condos separate from the hotel towers. Apparently the«Embassy Suites Registration» sign actually means KP registration– so go there for all checks ins. I booked a condo for the night because I wanted a full kitchen so I wouldn’t have to eat out– yet again– on my business trip, and the price seemed reasonable considering it has a screened porch over the lake… A nice place to do some laptop time, I thought, and a little different from the standard hotel room. Well… Once I was here I wished I had booked a regular hotel with a kitchenette. One reviewer had mentioned the unit they stayed in reminded them of staying with an older relative. Yep! Imagine an elderly aunt who has lived on a fixed income for 30 years has this condo you can stay at… Not my idea of a relaxing vacation where I can have happy time. I would pass even if «auntie» offered it for free, but the idea of someone paying to rent this for their holiday makes me sad. There are such better choices in MB! Everything in this unit(Arrowhead 211) is the lowest possible quality. It’s clear its a rental and they are doing the absolute minimum they can get away with to not spend any extra money. And a MAJOR annoyance: if you are going to book like a hotel with a full kitchen on a daily rental basis, you need to include a small amount of paper towels, dish soap, salt & pepper packets etc. Even weekly vacation rental homes I have stayed at have a «starter» amount to get you through your first day/night before you go to the grocery. I had to use shampoo to wash the greasy dishes from the cabinet. Ughhh! Anyway, I would have cried if I walked in here & this was my vacation home for a week. If I hadn’t been both starving & really needing to get work done, I would have given them back their key card & left. The reviewer who said to use Airbnb or HomeAway before booking here was spot on… Don’t gamble that you will get a decent rental! But with all of the other MB options, I would just look elsewhere altogether.(Maybe people with kids love this place for the amenities? I just don’t get what is so great).
