This has been a must come to every year and sometimes twice in a trip to the beach for the past 10+ years I have been visiting Myrtle Beach. One thing I love about this place is the table turn over is pretty quick for a full service/buffet all you can eat place. I have yet to eat here other than breakfast, but I will say I have always had a great breakfast experience here. I have never ordered from the menu, one of my children have and he through enjoyed his meal. The buffet food is always hot and never runs out. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a hot meal with a great attitude from the wait staff, plus the price is cheap but the food is not.

First time eating there. Good reviews and all the advertising brought us to mammys. Good food and good selection for Southern breakfast spot. Plenty of fruit to equal out the unhealthy good stuff. Place was understaffed and staffed with the usual under qualified staff. Bathrooms men and women’s were horrible(probably had to do with the understaffed part). Super crowded(good for them) but they need to put a sign where the buffet starts. You gotta try to be nice and figure it out on your own cause most people just bust in where they want. That’s where the try and be nice part comes in.

The food is gross the servers are rude, huge line outside, items on the buffet are old. And one more thing, they treated me VERYRUDE and made fun of my accent.

Before we get started let’s just clarify a major point to why this place gets four stars. Keep in mind that this isn’t a fancy joint. It’s a low cost, fill up your belly with food that probably better than most of you can cook spot & I have graded it with that in mind. You walk in, and it’s your typical beachy diner. I didn’t even notice the décor… Why you might ask, I was hungry & didn’t give a shit. There were t-shirts on the wall for sale that I noticed once I got food in me. Food: They have a menu, but if your on vacation why not pig out and get the buffet. It’s the American way! That’s what we did! It’s small, to the point, breakfast hits of the south. To seem less like a complete fat a** I started with the fruit. Not a shabby selection either. Strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, the green cantaloupe(wtf is that called?!?), grapefruit, peaches, and pears, and a few other items. Some of the fruit wasn’t exactly ripe, but it was good(again it was like 9 bucks a person so it beat my expectations). The meat & potatoes section that actually had all the meats you could think of was pretty good. Bacon, sausage patties, sausage links, and something that appears to be Alpo dog food at first glance, but I later learned it was corn beef & hash. I didn’t try it. I couldn’t get past the looks. All the other meats tasted like they should have. They had two varieties of unseasoned powdered(assuming) eggs. Plain scrambled, and a fun mix that we called kitchen sink scrambled eggs growing up. Add the melted cheese, and some salt & pepper your good to go! French toast, and pancakes with syrup was pretty darn good. Biscuits & gravy was surprisingly delicious. I don’t like grits so I didn’t try them but I saw a fat chick get them twice & I think that says a lot in itself. They also had some donuts, and Little pecan rolls but I couldn’t eat anything else so I waited 10 minutes & tried them for you & it was worth it. My main & really only issue with this place is the space at the buffet bar. It was framed in so with all the morbidly obese people it was really hard to navigate through there with a child. The restrooms were worn, or loved, but clean. Like I said at the start, this isn’t a fancy restaurant. We paid 9 bucks & really pigged out. You get what you pay for… And then some, if your in my family b/c we did a number on them. I tried almost everything(for YOU!!), and it was what it was. I f you want something more prestigious & uppity then maybe try someplace else. If your hungry, want decent food for a good price check in here!

We always eat here on our visits to MB. Great breakfast buffet with plenty to chose from! Clean and everyone is pleasant. Good food with a good price! Beware it gets really busy around 9−10am but they try to get you seated pretty quickly!

Everytime I come to Myrtle Beach I see loads of people having breakfast here so I decided to try mammys out. Mammys is old and has been in the same spot since 1953. Whomever is in charge keeps the building in shape. Most old mom a pop spots are dirty and in need of many repairs I’m happy to say that mammys was super clean and in good repair. The food was a little bland even my apple juice was a little watered down. So many other people were there loving the buffet that I feel like I have to say that I’m not much of a buffet guy so I grade buffets a little hard. Nothing was bad and nothing was great. I really recommend you try this restaurant for yourself. Remember normal Myrtle Beach over pricing.

On my most recent visit to Myrtle Beach, we went back… Again, nothing over the top about Mammy’s Kitchen, but it seems to be fairly consistent in my experiences of being average or slightly above average for a breakfast buffet. I’m being nice and giving 4 stars instead of 3, although I think 4 – 5 stars would typically be given to the type of place where you can get your food on the buffet made to order – like omelettes, crepes, or waffles to your liking, but the staff has always been so friendly and seem happy. I’ll probably always visit as long as I come to Myrtle Beach.

YUM!!! Mammy’s kitchen has to be the best breakfast place in Myrtle Beach. It’s a buffet but the food is so fresh and good. Our waiter was so full of life and made it a great experience. I can’t wait to visit this place again. Just tooooo good.

I purchased the French toast and have to say it’s the best I’ve had so far in the area. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Overall I look forward to going back.

We all had the buffet. It was very clean, always kept full and food was great. The waitress was fantastic and always filling drinks and taking plates as used. We will be going back.

We went to Mammy’s Kitchen and we were horribly disappointed. The seating system is the worst ever! We stood in a long line thinking we were going to get some good southern cooking but all we got was some tasteless stuff that you can get at any run of the mill hole in the wall. To say the least the joint needs to be renovated and it was crowded and uncomfortable. The seats were wet and the table had someone else’s dry grits on it. The food was terrible… Lukewarm… fake eggs… overly greasy sausage… Dry potatoes that sat in the metal pan too long. The price was outrageous for that nasty disgusting food. Do yourselves a favor… eat somewhere else.

All I can say is that I should have had the grilled cheese. I tried the buffet, and I knew I should NOT have! Looking at the buffet made my arteries cringe, but I went with the rest of my party and got the buffet. I had a plate of fruit and a plate of eggs and two sausages. After eating this I felt awful, so full, and if you saw what I ate, I didn’t even finish my fruit! The rest of the day I felt awful, my arteries felt like they were working extra hard not to clog! I would never get the buffet here ever again!

I loved it!!! We drove by and figured we would give it a try. The buffet was 8.79 and had everything I wanted and fruit for the healthy people. Service was swift and the place was clean. #freeparking

Such a good breakfast spot. The buffet is a great price for a reasonable size selection. They have everything from grits and biscuits to french toast and different kinds of potatoes. Super filling!

I would love to give this place a better review, but I just can’t. It’s a typical mom and pop breakfast restaurant. The service is wonderful, smiling and friendly. The food is average at best. The oil they use is obviously over-used and possibly burnt. That causes the food to have a very funky taste. It’s not special, and it’s not tremendous. It’s simply average. There has to be better somewhere in Myrtle Beach.

The service at Mammy’s was very good. The variety was very good, the quality of the food, well not gourmet but still a hearty breakfast. Better than fast-food. Mammy’s have been there for 20 years. Not a bad stop for breakfast.
