I say just ok because the drive they was a VERY long wait! Once at the window, the attendant was surly to the point of being rude. There was no greeting, no thank you, no come back again… NOTHING! Wow! Customer service anyone?

So not impressed with this place. First and last time here. WHERES THE BEEF??? My sliders were all bread. Ordered shakes first and came out after the food. Shakes taste like vanilla ice cream. Go to Dairy Queen of you want good shakes and burgers. Just sayin.

20 minutes to be sat down and then 30 minutes waiting for food. Only came here because we had English friends visiting and wanted to show them old style fast food. Won’t frequent this chain again

If I could, I’d give no f’n stars! If you can go to a different location!
Food was terrible and the service was slow. We sat with two 4 year olds and waited for 15 mins to order our drinks.

I can’t help with the quality of the food because we didn’t stay. We were here around 3:00 PM on 5÷1÷16. We were the only patrons at the hostess stand to wait for a seat. There was a young lady there, just beside the stand. We stood there at least 5 minutes before anyone greeted us. I was quite surprised when the young lady that was already there, said hello and took us to a booth right next to the hostess stand. We waited another 5 minutes and still had not been addressed by any waitress, so we left.

Jackie was my server and she was absolutely wonderful. She has a great attitude and is definitely one of the most friendly servers I have ever had. Food was hot and fresh and price is certainly budget friendly

This is our family’s new favorite place. They have terrific customer service and the best food. I applaud all the cooks and servers because they stayed calm and were so pleasant even though they were short staffed. They all chipped in and helped one another. Great place and great service!

Place was packed when we came in but we were seated right away. The food came out in a timely fashion and was perfect ! Our server (Mark S) was on top of everything. He anticipated what we wanted or needed before we did. Best service around!

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Service was horrible. We were seated and then no one waited on us. We waited for over 15 minutes and got up and left. Very disappointed.

Got here at just the right time… right before a line formed. My Oreo Shake was so f$$king awesome! The Shooters, on the other hand, were not so good. They weren’t patties (like I was expecting). It was meat that was smashed. They weren’t sitting straight-stacked on the plate which I didn’t understand because there wasn’t enough food/sauce in-between the buns. They tasted ok but they’re not for me…
I did appreciate the attitude of all the servers. They were quite pleasant!

Love Steak n Shake hate the fact this 1 leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The Service is horrible. Management has 3 girls trying to serve 100 people. Waiting to pay waiting to sit waiting to order. This place needs to fire the Managers cause they are a joke… Sitting watching my food get cold under the warmer is the worst. Avoid this place… Yet im here for 3^rd time

I asked for my hamburger not to have mayo because I’m allergic. After 2 bites in I tasted something weird, sure enough it was mayo. I called her over & told the waitress that their was mayo in my burger. She took it back of course and gave me brand new burger. One thing I thought was rude of her to tell me that I should tell her I was allergic to mayo. I shouldn’t have to say I’m allergic, if I say no mayo then I’m expecting no mayo. I’ve never been to a place where the waitress tells me how to order. The kitchen obviously wasn’t paying attention to the ticket order.

Steak and Shakes are delicious… handsdown, one of the better cheap eats chains in the south… and worth the occasional inconveniences like crazy lines out the door and a rushed feel. This S&S in particular was FREEZING though which made for an uncomfortable meal… very chaotic even after being seated. BUT the food was amazing and made up for any and all transgressions! «Frisco Melt» and «Very Berry Strawberry» shake are a MUST.

Started badly and never got better. Water had something floating in it. I don’t know if waitress emptied the glass and used the same glass. When she came back the second glass of water had more black specs floating in it. The food was prepared well, but it took rather long for the shakes.
Maybe it will be better next time. Somewhat recommend.

We came to Steak ‘n Shake at about 4.40 pm, got seated after a few minutes, our waitress took our order my husband ordered the western bbq burger and myself I had the guacamole burger, and two salted caramel pretzel shakes. We waited for 25 minutes for our food and our milkshakes had still not arrived so we asked another woman when our milkshakes would arrive she said well I told your waitress to tell you, you guys were next, our waitress never told us about our milkshakes being behind and then failed to check up again on us while everyone else who was behind us got served quite promptly.

On vacation from Massachusetts and I tell you I wish we had this chain in the Boston region! The best Stake burger with avocado I have had in a while and the Shakes are like heaven! Amazing!

(3.5 stars) Any place that offers a pretty decent bbq burger and cajun fries for $ 5 gets my support. Throw in a pretty good and very large milkshake for $ 3 and I can’t see not stopping here. Our fries were cold when they first came out so that was disappointing but they made us a fresh batch without hesitation. The burger and fries aren’t the greatest but for the price, it’s hard to beat.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but beyond impressed for a 24hour fast food chain. Frisco sandwich, Nacho burger, Eggnog Shake, & Heath Shake with Cajun fries is a good choice.
We’ll be back!
