Be sure to double check your bill. Ours was incorrect 2 times already being over charged. The 300 club is what’s throwing it off because they run separate receipts. Although I like the location, atmosphere and food, I now have to double check our receipts. Hoping they work out the kinks since it’s the first month open.

Since this is a new restaurant in Market Commons my friends and I thought we’d check it out. Our waiter was great but the food was really mediocre. I’ll have to wait and see if improvements are made but with Gordon Biersch right around the corner this place has their work cut out for them!

Overpriced drinks, mediocre food, and the seating is just way too tight. There are several other better options in the area.

Let me start with an 11 $ long island ice tea… really? No ketchup… no bbq sauce, no blue cheese, no honey mustard… they have their«own» creations that are not all that? Weird seating arrangements… either high table or cramped in a corner. Food… eh. Pretty sure we’ll never come back. Uh and no TP in restroom. Yikes!

Great beer hall! Food is good and the beer selection is better than most places around. They are still going through some growing pains and getting a feel for timing the food and may leave a beer on the bar but you need to speak up if it is waiting but overall is a good place that will get better.

I just. I don’t know. I’m disappointed. We were stoked for the opening, attended the VIP early access. Were told there would be blocks and your ticket got you in to reduce crowding, so we picked the later ticket to be able to get dinner first as there was«passed appetizers» offered. But no one from the FOUR previous ticket blocks were told to leave, so we were in a sea of ppl fighting for a beer. I get it, they don’t want to turn away business, but don’t give ppl false expectations as well. We went back after the main opening to actually try everything. I must say the staff is all nice, but when you first walk in there’s no rhyme or reason. No one said hello(actually 3 staffers were right by the door didn’t even turn around trying to figure out the register) and we had no clue if we sat ourselves or what. Finally sat down in a high top we were told was«bar seating» after waiting a solid 10 minutes with 0 acknowledgement but everything minus 3 low boys by the restrooms were high tops so I don’t get that logic. Luckily we got a waitress to take care of us. It’s too cramped, it wasn’t even a full house and a server hit my chair at least once every 10 minutes passing by. The beer prices make no sense to me. $ 7.50 for a pint of Guinness?(Not that it’s what I would drink there with the 60 taps, but that’s ridiculous) $ 6.50 for an angry orchard draft but $ 5.50 for the bottle, $ 4 for a bud light… But yet a dog fish head ipa is $ 4.50?(Which was 10oz not a pint which was not listed on the menu, so it’s a guessing game if you’re getting a pint or snifter) I’m using basics as examples, to set a normal $ 6 for an Allagash White and charge more for a basic everyday bar brew is like huh? It shouldn’t fluctuate so much it makes your head spin. We came mostly bc we knew the beers had no logic to pricing but the food was reasonable. Potstickers and pretzels were awesome. Entrees? Nope. Small, not great flavor, we left with a $ 54 tab thirsty and hungry. One app 4 drinks and 2 sandwiches. This is a happy hour app and chill spot. $ 1.50 off drafts and daily specials plus half off shareable apps will be the way to go. Dinner? Go to another place and get your fill. This is Myrtle beach… You have to give a little. One or the other, great beers or great food. They have the potential but need to go harder.

More of the same medocracy. The good is the availability of different beers. The bad is the food. It shouldn’t be that hard to serve simple foods well. We had fish and chips, a very simple dish. Yet the fish was small, over fried and the chips limp and overly oily. And all of this is coming from a chain that should have these elements down to perfection. Bottom line, not recommended unless you just want a beer.

Writing this from the bar, right now. Brass Tap has done a nice job of remodeling the old surf shop on Deville St. The décor is clean, simple and efficient. Nothing novel; a utilitarian sport’s bar w/televisions everywhere. Let’s talk about the beer. With 60 taps on the wall, they currently have the largest draft selection in The Market Common. That said, I’d like to see them stretch their legs on the selection. Quality over quantity and all that. It’s understood they want to have a sampling from local breweries, but many are just old-hat at this point. I’m not a huge fan of New South and their brand is eating up 6 taps, here. The domestics are also taking up unnecessary real estate. It’s a great-big craft world out there; why not flex and bring in some otherwise difficult to find drafts? I want to see a selection we can’t get at the Piggly Wiggly, around the corner. By way of comparison,(for our locals) I suspect the«Grumpy Monk» crowd would shrug their shoulders at this selection. No reason to migrate from 501. Others will undoubtedly find the selection impressive yet pricey. i.e., 7.50 for a pint of, Son of a Peach! Really?(Wife drinks it… not me) As for the atmosphere, it’s tight in here. Like, «Up Periscope, I feel like I’m drinking in a submarine,» tight! It will be interesting to see if they ultimately decide to take a few stools out. In particular, the long table directly behind the bar is irksome. Just a non-stop shoulder check by people who I don’t want to know that well. I get it, you want to maximize square footage but this is a particularly tight area. When you get three people deep(with people ordering over your shoulder) the patrons sitting at the bar have to doge dripping pint glasses as they’re being passed over them. A lot of ducking and weaving happening. Hoping management wrangles this in. As I’ve noted in other reviews for this area, I don’t like yelling over my beer and it is loud in here. Hell, the house music is louder than the the live music. Like every other new business here, they’re gonna have to decide whether this is a night club or a neighborhood bar. Just about impossible to have a conversation with douchey house music incessantly thumping at concert levels. On a positive note, the bar was quick and attentive. In fact, the entire staff was courteous and efficient. Overall, they’re managing things well with short ticket times. As for the food; I had the fish and chips… tasty, but stingy on the portions. Not what I expected for 10.99 and no bigger than a few Gorton’s fish sticks. Room for improvement there. As a local, I have high hopes for these guys, but they need to get a few things dialed in before I can spend any real time here. Sooo, there ya go, some general observations peppered with some constructive criticism. Looking forward to seeing how things settle here. I’ll be sure and post a follow up review in a couple months. –Neil Be sure and follow me on Unilocal for other Myrtle Beach reviews. I live here so chances are if I like something, you’ll dig it too. See that little icon under my name to the left that says, «Follow this person on Unilocal?»…click that! We’ll be buds! Seriously, do it. I’m shallow and need that sort of validation in my life.
